Have been using these guys for many years and have had excellent service until a recent routine Toyota RAV4 Prime 35,000 mile service. They advised instead for a 30,000 mile service (which had been done a year ago). At 35,000 miles Toyota calls for inspections only but the recommendations at Northshore called for over $1,000 of work, much of which was challenged. In the end no work was done, not even the recommended inspections, and no bill was presented, nor any explanation. Have always felt comfortable in the past but very disappointed this time around. Update - I wish Northshore would have responded with something closer to a mea culpa, I genuinely want to trust them. They did provide clear information and it conflicted with the official Toyota service interval recommendations, which did not call for a coolant replacement, transmission fluid replacement, air filter change, oil change - which made up for the bulk of the $1,000 quote. There was no evidence of any work having been done and I doubt that a mechanic reviewed the work order in advance.

Had a fantastic experience with North Shore! They handled my insurance claim with Endurance very professionally and worked with me every step of the way to get the transmission repaired in my Buick. Professional and friendly staff; they do only what is required, not forcing additional services on you as many dealerships do; they accommodate "emergencies" very easily; would recommend them to anyone. Provide a wide range of services including tire repair . You won't be disappointed.

My neighbors recommended North Shore automotive. I spoke with Jason to set up my appointment. From the very first contact to picking up my car, everyone was fantastic! Danae is the woman in the front office. She is soooo nice!!! My Volvo needed to have the sun roof seal replaced. Danae tried to have a window specialist check it out first, in hopes to save me some money. Unfortunately, I did need two new seals, which were ordered for me. Danae was nice enough to offer a loaner car, as I was going to be without a vehicle while mine was being fixed. Another employee, also named Jason, gave me a ride home after I drop my car off. Tim, the owner really knows how to pick fantastic employees!!! I am so happy that I found my new auto repair shop!! I will be telling Anyone that needs auto work done, that North Shore Automotive is the place to go. Thank you so much for the positive experience!!

We cannot recommend North Shore Automotive enough! We had been searching for a reliable used car for our daughter to drive back to college in Pennsylvania and Tim and Dinae made what would normally be a stressful process incredibly smooth and extremely satisfying. Northshore Automotive is a special vehicle service department. They are honest, dependable and reasonably priced. Danae and Cait were incredible in assisting me with my vehicle and its needs. Northshore Automotive is by far the best care you will get from an auto shop. I've been to many and liked very few. But this shop will give you the honest truth about your car. If there is a laundry list of issues they will tell you if it's worth it, what should be a priority to fix, and what, if anything isn't worth fixing. Again, I've taken many of my cars to many shops over the years but as long as the current manager and the current owner are at Northshore Automotive, I have absolutely no interest in ever changing shops again. You'd be a fool to walk away from these guys.

After a garage door came down on my car they were able to repair the Antenna and buff out all the scratches for a very reasonable cost. Delivered on time and great job, like new. Always honest and reliable Ryan was great

If you have a Toyota or Honda and are looking for a mechanic team you can trust to maintain that car as if it were their own for the duration of its life, Northshore Automotive is the place to go. For 16 years, they were the ONLY mechanics who serviced my Corolla. As someone on a budget, I appreciated their honesty and trusted their recommendations about what services were necessary and what could wait. That my vehicle, with more than 200K miles, survived 21 years (16 of them enduring Chicago roads and winters) is a testament to the quality of work that Tim Fella and his team provide. That they seem to be kind and gracious to everyone who walks through their doors, is an added and invaluable bonus!

If you want an honest appraisal,a clear explanation of needed repairs, a fair price and work completed in a reasonable amount of time, you need to visit Northshore Automotive and meet the friendly, professional staff. For the past 20+ years this has been the only place my Toyotas have been serviced. When you know you will always be treated fairly, return visits are the norm. Through the years I've purchased several cars from Tim Fella, and each one has been a gem. I have two friends who also made car purchases from Tim. We have all been happy with our choices. It's very comforting to do business with reliable, knowledgeable people. Respect goes both ways.
