PREDATORY
Same as everyone called them because they were the first on the google search.
When I asked for pricing and rates I was told 600 for 2 hours minimum. I figure I would need three hours therefore 900 Would be the total. I agree to the rates it was something I could afford.( for Class A trucking towing)
Upon receiving the bill they charge me 2,511 dollars. More than double the rates agreed upon. They don’t disclose all the fees they charge you. I’m a small business owner with one truck I had a break down so my money had to be spent wisely. They had the pick up location and drop off location so they should have had no problem with being up front with everything.
Instead lied and held my truck hostage until I paid, if I didn’t pay on time they would then tack on extra charges. Super predatory don’t ever call them.Jan 17, 2026 -
This tow truck company seriously ripped my uncle off. He was clearly told the tow would cost $250, but after the job was done they charged him $590. They added extra fees for driving back to their own location and extra mileage that was never explained or agreed to upfront.
This feels dishonest and misleading. If you use this company, get everything in writing before they hook your car, or you may end up paying more than double what you’re quoted.Jan 12, 2026 -
RIP OFF COMPANY!! Speedy G drove 45 minutes up the road to change 2 airbags on our semi truck and charged us $2,733. The even had a $179 convenient fee.

Extremely Overpriced and Unprofessional
I had a truck stuck and called this towing company expecting help, not to be completely taken advantage of. I was charged $1,800 for what should have been a straightforward recovery. No clear explanation, no upfront transparency on pricing, and absolutely no justification for a charge that high.
It felt like they saw someone in a bad situation and decided to exploit it. The lack of communication about costs beforehand is unacceptable, and the final bill was shocking. I would strongly caution anyone against using this company unless you’re prepared for outrageous fees and zero accountability.
There are plenty of towing companies out there — do yourself a favor and choose one that’s honest and fair.Jan 05, 2026 -
Terrible business. Was quoted $125 plus $4 per mile on the phone and they PURPOSELY left out that they charge more until they get to the location. Had to pay $350 for a tow that was 2 miles away. Didn’t tell us this until they completed the tow and refused to charge any less. Do NOT recommend. Very shady and very disappointed.

They are scammer's fraud and cheater. Yesterday I call them for towing services and they said 295 USD per hrs charge and total time will take about one and half hrs and the total amount is 450 but when job is done they gave me 3150 USD bill which is totally unfair. When I argue with them they said you must pay otherwise we tow the truck. And now I understand why there rating is very low. If there is any option I can not give them even a 1 star.

Horrible horrible business. Do not use them. They were not that speedy as their name proclaims! They charged me ( I didn’t ask on the one.. my mistake) $225..00 for 5 minutes if start jumping my car. The guy said 225 when he was finished and I was horrified at that number. Normal charges are $50 to 150. I then got my re wilt by text and another $15.00 was added for convenience fee. What was the convenience? And the guy dudnt tell me. so total $240.00 just for 5 min of jump starting my car. I will take this to BBB
. I need a credit back.Dec 10, 2025 -
If I can leave -0 stars I would. I was made to pay upfront through venmo. I waited over an hr and then I called to cancel the help. When I called I asked if I would be refunded they said yes. Ive been fighting to get my money back or at least most of it back. This happend 11/24/2025 and still no return in sight. Please be aware these guys are a scam. Ill be reporting to the Better Business Bureau. Please be aware.

SCAM ALERT! Initial quote was $1500 for a 12-mile tow. The final invoice jumped to $4600 with NO justification. When I questioned this, they threatened to hike the price further, demanding a total of $5310 which I was forced to pay under duress to get my truck back. This is predatory, dishonest, and outright theft. AVOID Speedy G Towing at all costs

On Dec 2, 2025, I required assistance to extract my tractor from snow. The service was advertised at $395 per hour.
The actual on-site recovery work took less than one hour, and travel time to the location was no more than 30 minutes (round-trip approximately 10–15 minutes from your advertised base). Despite this, I was presented with an invoice totaling $2,370 and was informed that the vehicle would not be released until payment was received in full.
The invoice contained the following charges:
Fuel Surcharge 1 × $395.00
HD Recovery Service Per Hour (Tractor) 2.5 hours × $395.00 = $987.50
HD Recovery Service Per Hour (Trailer) 2.5 hours × $395.00 = $987.50
I have several serious concerns regarding the billing:
The vehicle involved was a tractor only; no trailer was attached or recovered. Charging 2.5 hours for trailer recovery appears to be an error or unjustified.
The total time billed (5 hours across tractor and trailer) significantly exceeds the actual time spent on site and in transit.
After the vehicle was hooked up, the operator refused to release it until payment was made on the spot and declined to accept credit card payment over the phone, accepting only Zelle or EFS. This created considerable pressure and limited payment options in the moment.
The operator also refused to allow the driver to retrieve his hat and jacket from the cab in freezing conditions before towing the vehicle away.
I find these practices highly concerning and potentially in violation of fair billing and consumer protection standards. I request a detailed explanation of the charges, a corrected invoice reflecting only the actual equipment used and time spent, and an immediate refund for any overcharged amounts.
I have retained all relevant documentation and photographs and will be escalating this matter to the appropriate state regulatory authorities and industry oversight bodies if a satisfactory resolution is not provided promptly.
Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter.Dec 03, 2025 -
I had an absolutely terrible experience with this towing company. They initially quoted me $750 for a 7.6-mile tow. I was aware there’d be a 250 an hour and a $250 fee for disconnecting the driveshaft and another $250 for a brake disconnection. But by the time we reached the destination—a mere 17-minute drive—my bill had ballooned to $2,100.
In other words, they padded the time and cost, claiming three and a half hours of service for a short, straightforward tow. It’s clear to me that these people are crooks. They will bait you with a low quote and then gouge you with outrageous, unjustified fees. I strongly urge others to stay away and find a trustworthy company instead.Nov 21, 2025 -
Very expensive and we completely got ripped off, when we called them we agreed upon $195 an hour later on the bill came up to $1560. So would definitely not recommend them but if you want to get ripped off you can definitely use them.

Worst tow I've ever had, quoted 173 (125 pick up plus 12 miles @$4) (guy wouldn't do the math so I made sure to ask him 173, correct, he said yes) on the phone and ended up being 395 (125 pick up, 8 miles to vehicle @$5, 14 miles @$5 for transport, 19 miles dead head charge @$5, and a surcharge of $65 for diesel), all while I'm at work, when asked for an invoice couldn't give me anything on phone sent to my number, I've dealt with shitty companies before but this is the worst I've ever seen. Wasn't even a roadside recovery or anything risky, a disabled vehicle I wanted to move from a residential parking lot to another. Price gougers to the fullest extent. And then psudeo extorsionists after the fact threatening a $600 charge for storage.

If I could give negative stars, I would.
I paid them to tow my car to an auto shop on a Sunday. Shop was closed so the driver offered to store the car for free and bring it to the shop the next day.
I called the following day and was told I needed to pay $450 before they brought it to the shop. I paid them when I had the money (two days after and they said the same price 450). The autobody shop still has not received the car. I have had radio silence from this business since I paid them. Unfortunately if I couldn't get there in person, they said I could only play through zelle (I know, I'm stupid for using zelle since any respectable company can take a card over the phone. Mind you, I was in a traumatic car accident and that's why I called them to take care of the vehicle).
I'm still waiting on their response.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANYNov 07, 2025 -
Fraudulent and Dishonest Business Practices
My friend called Speedy G Towing to move her vehicle just 3 miles. She was quoted $125 plus $4 per mile, but when the tow truck arrived, they loaded her vehicle and only then presented a bill that was more than three times the quoted price. When she objected, the driver refused to release her vehicle unless she paid the inflated amount, effectively holding her car hostage. The company later added more undisclosed “fees” and “fuel surcharges” that were never mentioned beforehand.
This is a clear case of fraudulent misrepresentation and predatory business behavior. Consumers should beware—get everything in writing before agreeing to any service from Speedy G Towing.Oct 26, 2025 -
****DO NOT WHATSOEVER USE THIS TOWING COMPANY****AVOID AT ALL COSTS****
I had a vehicle towed 75 miles. I was told the pickup was $125 plus $4 per mile. I had expected it to be around $425 (KEEP IN MIND I HAD MULTIPLE QUOTES FROM OTHER TOWING COMPANIES AT $500-$550 FOR THE SAME TOW). I asked the question to the driver before my vehicle was picked up if the cost would be around $425, and was told yes something like that.
Only to find out once I was dropped off the cost was $950+. Beyond frustrating and if I could rate negative stars I would. Clearly a business trying to take advantage of their customers and not assist.
FYI - I was able to get some money knocked off once I told the customer service how ridiculous this was. (Still paid $800 for the tow) Customer service then threatened to impound my car and charge me even more if I did not comply. Wouldn’t use them again even if my life depended on it.Oct 17, 2025 -
As many people said , i would also rate 0 if possible . They don’t honor what they said when you setting up service call. We set up towing for our semi truck and trailer. They had all info and they told us it will be $290.00 per hour with minimum of 2.5 hours. Expected to be done within 3 hours.
Service was done within 3 hours and they suggested to tow truck to their location because it is safer.
Next day they sent me a bill of $3894.00 with lots of itemized things which they never disclosed when we set up service call. Truck and trailer on their location and only option to take it out is to pay bill in full.
Complaint report was filled out with Illinois Commerce Commission Police and form is available online.
Never again!!!Sep 23, 2025 -
Total scam!!!!!! I was told $125 and $4 per mile got home 26 miles total tow he told me 495$???? And said I signed the paper it says I need to pay for the miles for the pickup and the miles it takes for him to get back to the shop. Disappointing I feel cheated and scammed out of money. I wish I could give them 0 stars

The guy showed up very fast. He said I needed a forced regeneration without hooking up the scanner.I asked how do you know he said this is very common with these trucks etc. I said ok he says you have to prepay that's the company policy. I paid over $500 assuming he would get the truck out of derate and perform the regeneration. A little while later he tells me this may take 2 hours I cant wait here I can give you a discount on a tow! He didnt complete the regeneration, did not delete the fault codes so at least get the truck to reputable shop.I said but I paid for a regeneration can I get some kind of refund? No im not authorized. This place is totally a scam.

I’m very disappointed with my experience. When I called, I was quoted $125 plus $4 per mile. What I didn’t expect was to be charged based on miles driven from where the tow truck started, instead of the actual tow distance. My vehicle was only moved about 1/5 of a mile, but I was billed way more than I was told to expect. This feels misleading and unfair. If you advertise $4 per mile, it should be from the pick-up point to the drop-off, not from wherever your driver happens to be. Customers deserve clear and honest pricing upfront — not surprise charges after the fact.

If there was an option for a negative star rating than. I would rate in the negative star option. Yes they were there fast. My elderly father had ran over a curb and bottomed out his vehicle on the curb. All that was needed was a quick pull off of the curb that took about 15 minutes. The charge came out to be $500 and there was no pricing stated before the service was accepted and I did not ask prior which was my fault. When the operator gave us the price I called headquarters to ask questions and was basically told that it was my fault for not asking and there was nothing to be done. I called back later in the evening and stated that the rate was atrocious and inappropriate. Then I was hung up on by a very rude woman over the phone. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Initially when we made the decision to use them on Saturday afternoon, they were the first company to pop up on my Country app. Because my husband was on the side of the road, we called them first. I encourage everyone who needs towing to keep scrolling. I see we were not the first ones that they overcharged. We have also registered a complaint against them to Country insurance. In addition to all of the extra fees that everyone is describing here, the driver got lost on the way to my husband. They are charging us for those miles as well. We have called to complain and they said they will call back and they have not. Not a reputable company.
Sep 10, 2025 -
I usually don't believe reviews claiminmg "SCAM!". I always give the company the benefit of the doubt. I have learned to never do that again. The representative on the phone told us the pricing is "$125 per mile, then an additional $4 per mile." That's it. That's all he said. He did not say how far the distance was from dispatch, nor did he say we had to pay for that distance traveled. EVEN WITH THAT DISTANCE AND THE ADDITIONAL MILES WE DID NOT SIGN UP FOR, our total should only have been $205 plus tax. Our mechanic did the math in front of the driver. Tell me why they wanted $314 from me. Where did the extra charge come from?? The billing department could not and would not give us an answer, nor have they sent us a receipt of payment. We are absolutely disgusted with this company, everything it stands for, and the scammy nature that they flaunt and use to prey on people with car problems. Shame. On. You. Look forward to some legal paperwork in your inbox soon.

Beware of Speedy G Towing – Hidden Fees & Unfair Practices
I had a terrible experience with this company. They quoted me $125 for pickup and $4 per mile, but once they had my car, they started adding hidden charges that were never mentioned upfront. They even billed me for mileage from their warehouse to the location, plus extra charges for gas, which is ridiculous and unfair.
This is a classic bait-and-switch tactic — give a low price on the phone and then trap you with unexpected fees once they have your vehicle. Completely unprofessional and dishonest.
If you’re looking for a reliable towing service, avoid this company at all costs. Save yourself the frustration, stress, and financial loss.
Scamming PeopleSep 08, 2025 -
I would rate this company a zero if I could. Shame on them for doing this to people. Do not use this company . They're a huge scam. I only wish I would have read their reviews before I used them. Being stranded all I was worried about was getting myself and my car home as soon as possible. You don't really take the time to look up bad reviews In the moment. I'm an elderly lady and a cancer patient.I called for a quote to tow my car and they told me the tow will be $125 + $4 per mile. My car was 11 miles away from my home. So the quote they gave me was $169. When I arrived home and went to pay them they told me the total was $450 and if I didn't pay it then they were going to take my car to the impound lot. They would not unload my car unless I paid this amount. I didn't even have $450 . I'm retired and on disability. I had to start calling around and borrowing money from people for them to give me my car back. I called to speak to a manager and no one would help. Everyone I spoke to said I have to pay $450 if I want my car back. How can people honestly do this to anyone. Now from reading the reviews they have done this to so many people. All with the same problem. They quote a low price until they have your car and then they jack up the price. They changed me the towing fee of $125 which is pretty standard but then they charged me $325 in milage.! How is that possible when you're only towing the car 11 miles!?!?!
Aug 19, 2025 -
If you have a low car, definitely recommend using them. They handled it with care! Communication was also on point. Price was fair. Second time working with them, and they don’t disappoint! Will be using them again in the future if needed!
Jul 22, 2025 -
If i could id leave 0 stars. I was told that I'd be charged $150 plus $5 a mile. Once the car got to destination which was a mile away driver told me it would be $225. Called their dispatch and I was told they charge you for every mile to get to you as well. Shady business practice at best.

Quick, reliable, and professional! I called for a tow and they arrived faster than expected. The driver was courteous and handled my car with care. Pricing was fair and the whole process was stress-free. Highly recommend if you ever need help!.

Speedy G showed up in 30 minutes. Tow Technician (Rene) was patient and had a great demeanor, while he worked diligently to swap out the spare tire.
