Mark who works at this location is committing fraud. After giving me the wrong part I had to return it. My order was paid for in full with my credit card. When I returned the part instead of returning my money to the original credit card that paid for my order they decided to return the amount to a gift card that he never sent. We called the store and Sherry explained that the amount of the refund would go back onto our credit card as that’s the policy. After being told that her worker stole the funds she told us to find the gift card. (The gift card that they never gave us. We will be filing a police report. Do not trust this store with any refund. They are scamming customers.

It's great to have a local store with all my auto needs, and Advance Auto Parts on Skokie Blvd (next to the Skokie PO) can provide great service. Guillermo not only helped me find a tire gauge, he inflated my tires for me with a portable inflator from his car, saving me time, money and headaches.

After having called and spoken to Guillermo on the phone he expertly found me the battery that I was looking for for my son’s car. I further needed him to walk my wife through the process as she was hell bent on getting it done herself. When I tell you that this gentleman went well beyond what we would have expected that is an understatement. He not only found the correct price friendly battery but installed it using his own tools and his additional sense of professionalism to create a safe cradle for the battery on this older rusty Honda. My wife was impressed with his dedication and helpful considerate demeanor. All said in done Guillermo turned something that she wasn’t looking forward to into a pleasant experience. After visiting many stores, I finally found the exact paint I needed at this shop. Maria was so very kind and helpful from the start. Actually, even before I entered this shop... I noticed Maria rushing out the front door to catch an elderly man as he was leaving. With her smartphone, she shared with him some other places that may carry the product he was looking for. That really is good customer service. The store is very clean and organized. Maria personally walked me to every item that I was looking for. She patiently listened to my questions and suggested many good resources for me. Even after I made my purchase, I remembered that I would need a 10mm bolt later on. I did not have the original bolt as it had rusted and broke. She even walked over to the bolts display and opened one package of the 10mm bolts so I could see what they looked like. Maria is an absolutely amazing listener and very detailed in her customer service. Thank you, Maria! I feel ready to tackle my diy car repair.

I’ve been to this location before, typically I am happy with the service. But today I spoke to Maria over the phone, and she wasn’t very clear about the policy for my battery warranty. When my boyfriend arrived to replace/recharge my battery she told him other information that she failed to provide over the phone. Please train your staff to have better communication.

I bought two batteries from this parts store. my alternator would drop to 10v for about 20 min once installed about 2 months after purchase and install. Jiffylube told me the batteries were bad. I took them back to advanced auto parts only to have them tell me my charging system was bad. I took the truck to my mechanic who told me the batteries are end of life. they have only about 40 cranking amps. They were about 4 months old. I had them replace the batteries and my charging system operated normally. it checked out fine. AAP wanted to swamp my batteries. this is my only auto and I should get new working batteries at purchase. AAP test does not seem to even be able to catch a bad battery. They would not take the batteries back and refund my money. Very unacceptable customer service. selling old used/worn merchandise as new is shady. Buy from this business at your own risk. wasted my time and money with this store. I returned your batteries. I want my money refunded. You do not have the equipment to tell a good battery from a bad one and I dont want to take a chance on you giving me another bad battery. My truck and 2 other independent shops told me the batteries were bad. Do not trust this retail establishment.

Love this location! Gui Macedo Santos is exceptional. My car was damaged in a hit and run. Gui helped me find the parts and helped me with the repair of my drivers side mirror. I’m a senior and could not do the installation myself. Gui walked outside to my car with me and assisted me with the repair. Excellent customer service. Highly recommend this location.

They tried to charge me almost $300 for a battery, gave me an attitude because they clearly didn't want to have to get up off of the stool to look for it, and then proceeded to tell me if I wanted it cheaper to go somewhere else. Avoid this place.

One of the worse parts stores I’ve been to in a while. I came in for a new battery and had the terrible experience of being helped by the manager Gi. Instead of going in and buying a battery then leaving, I had to sit through what felt like an eternity of Gi selling me the wrong battery and then continually trying to get me to buy terminal paste. Although I had a terrible experience with Gi, his team on the other hand were extreme professional from start to finish. From calling them to check for my batteries availability to having it installed, they were all extremely professional. Such a wonderful team being lead by such an inexperienced and terrible manager.

It’s so much better to shop at this Advance Auto Parts store than getting my wipers and oils from Amazon, I get it faster and at a better price. When I had few questions about my battery they gave be a quick fix with needing to replace the battery.

very unhelpful, ordered parts in store, was promised it would arrive in 3-5 days. Shipment arrived in over 10 days. Lady on the phone said there’s nothing she can do about it and lied to my face that it would arrive in 3-5 days.

Maria, was SO HELPFUL! I needed to know the specific weight of Synthetic oil for my car. She looked it up and gave me the answer with a smile! She even took me directly to the shelf to help me get the best brand! Excellent customer service! I was in and out on no time!

Great experience yesterday at this amazing advance auto parts. My Camaro battery was due for a replacement, and they were quick to give me a replacement. Not only did they have the battery in stock, but they also installed the battery which took me no more than 10 minutes to get in and out.

I stopped at Advance Auto Parts to check the battery in my car as it was not holding a jump. I ran into the store and was lucky to find Ariel inside. She went above and beyond to get me on my way. Not only did she test to see that my battery was completely drained, she identified 3 battery options that would work for my vehicle and once I chose the battery I wanted she removed the old and installed the new. This was no easy feat as the screws holding the battery in place were totally stuck. She did not let that phase her though and kept working the elbow grease to get them loose. Thank you Ariel for being a total rock star and making my difficult day a little less so!

Worst customer experience I’ve ever had at any Advanced auto parts store. I was refused service at that store. The store manager refused to offer me an online order return that I was picked up two days ago. Instead I was instructed by the manager to go to a different store to return my order when it’s clearly in the return policy that an online order can be returned to any advance auto parts store.

Had a bad battery. Towed our car to our mechanic. Called Advanced in Glendale Heights and they found the battery to be under warranty. He stated the battery needed to be returned. I notice that there was an advanced real close to my mechanic. I called that store and spoke to Maria. She verified with Gendale heights and said we could bring battery there to exchange. Our mechanic was so nice he said he go and exchange for us. He Got to advanced in Skokie and maria was off, since it was next day. The manager Rob told my mechanic he could not exchange . He said the person buying battery had to be present. I called Rob and i told him what Maria had said and he said she was off and he could not verify with her. Long story short he would not help. So i had to leave work in carol stream drive to skokie get battery drive to Glendale height exchage then drive all way back to Skokie to mechanic to put battery in. Not a customer service helpful store in Skokie.. Rob was not helpful or even apologetic.. We already had to have car towed now all the extra Drama for a 1.5 old battery that was warranted for 3 years.. Very disappointed.. please think twice before using Skokie advanced auto with Rob the manager...

These guys are Awesome! I went to another shop and they did not have my filter so I call this location and not only did they have it but Rob was able to find my car paint color so I could do touch ups! Every guy asked me if I needed help and found items I needed. Because customer service was so good, I also bought wax and compound. Thank you Rob!

Went in on March 7th to have my battery replaced. A young man came out to replace it for me. He swapped them out and when he went to connect it my alarm went off. He took off the battery, wiped it off, then put it back in. (Same way as the first try) He told me to turn on my car and when I did the car ran, but I had no lights on my dash and my radio wasn’t on. I also had to MANUALLY put my car in reverse. He plugged in my old battery, because his boss thought maybe they had a bad battery.( this time my battery was flipped around; different from the first time he replaced the battery) It ended up being that he put the new battery on in reverse the first time. They called a shop who came to test fuses and said I needed some replaced and it’s possible that he blew my PCM. So i drove to their shop and they replaced a few of my fuses. They got the car back to, what seemed like , normal. (Mind you I’m still running my old battery after my fuses were replaced) On March 9th the manager reimbursed me for my new battery and I was able to pick up one at a different location , because they no longer had the one I wanted; which was fine. I got my battery changed finally that day. Come March 14th and I had just got off work and wanted to stop and grab some food at Wendy’s. I parked in a spot and went about enjoying my lunch. 12-15 minutes into eating and my car surges. I freak out and try waiting to see if something happens again. A minute or so after and my car looses all power. I remove my key and stick it back in to see if it’ll turn on; nothing. I’m sitting in my car for about an hour more or less at this point and I hear my CD player skipping as if it’s trying to change. I put my key back in and the car turns on. I drive it back to the shop who replaced my fuses and changed my battery and they say it’s most likely my alternator, because when the young man put my battery in reverse he made my alternator spin in reverse causing it to surge. Advanced paid for the alternator and I had to pay labor. So now I have a few new fuses, a new battery (which is put on correctly) and a new alternator. Now, March 18th I went to visit my boyfriend at work to have lunch together. We’re sitting across the street from his job and AGAIN my car surges a couple times and shuts off completely. Now we’re thinking he did fry my PCM when the battery was installed in reverse. We had to jump my car and drive straight home, because the manager at Advanced claims he has no more control and I have to call customer service. (I have already) now I have to wait 24-48 hours just to hear from them. Which I also understand, because everyone is working from home due to the virus. It’s just very upsetting that I have to go through all this. I never even got an apology from the young man! Which is way more disrespectful in my eyes. Anyways, I hope he learned his lesson, because I learned mine: DON’T LET ANYONE TOUCH YOUR CAR EVEN IF OFFERED AS A COURTESY.

Amazing people work there who really care about their customers. Especially huge thank you to Luis who saved my life and helped to change light bulb in my baby Fiat. It would take me forever to figure it out but he did it in 1 minute. Best of the best.

They were nice enough to put my wiper blades on the car for me since it's a new car, I hadn't done it before. However, when the cashier was quoting me prices on the blades, I asked if that was the price per pair and he said yes. When I selected the pair and went to pay, the total was higher than discussed. When I asked, he gave some explanation about how the one Blade cost this and the second one was blah blah. I said "when I asked you if that was the price per pair, you said yes." He didn't apologize for the mistake, clearly couldn't answer the question and just made up the answer. A little ridiculous if you ask me.

Love advance auto parts! You can't hardly beat their prices when you use the online promo codes. Don't just walk in, but it online (even if that means in your car or while standing in the store) using a promo code. With the promo code (Google advance auto promo code) you can get the parts for about the same as the best online parts stores, except you get the part NOW! No more waiting for shipping. YAY for instant gratification, especially if it means I can get to work tomorrow and save cash!!

I love the fact that these guys are walking distance from my house! I've been here quite a few times since I tend to do some very minor car work on my own (oil, filters, etc), nothing big or fancy. As soon as you walk into the store, you're greeted by friendly employees that are more than willing to help you. They have never came across being annoyed or that they didn't want to help, it's the very opposite which is very unusual. The store is also well kept, clean, organized, with plenty of inventory. Last time I was here, it was cold, raining, and one of the employees didn't hesitate for one second to step out of the store, and help me change a filter that I was having problems with. Friendly, clean, organized, helpful store? I'm sold! From all the car stores that I could go to, I will certainly continue to visit this specific store!

Was was in the neighborhood doing some shopping and my turn signal bulb on my porsche cayenne went bad. I called every store around and no one had it in stock. I finally saw advanced and drove right in. Mike was awesome! Helped me find the bulb and also let me use his wrench set to remove my light and install my bulb... Talk about service, ill be sure to be back! Thanks Mike!
