We drive to Breaking Point Auto from Chicago because Brian has always taken such good care of our car for us. He’s a wonderful mechanic, honest, and very reasonably priced. We trust him, which is one of the most important qualities in a mechanic.
After moving back to Chicago I was referred to Brian by my stepmother. He’s gone above and beyond helping her in an emergency situation, and helping us as we just bought an old, cheap, used car. He’s given us tips on ways to save money and even checked in on me to make sure the car was running well afterwards.
He’s a genuinely good human being with lots of good karma coming his way.

I had a blowout tire on 290 from potholes. I pulled over and started using the stock jack that comes with the car. Bryan, a mechanic, was on his way to a tire warehouse in Roselle but he pulled over and brought out a hydraulic jack. He swapped my blowout for my spare in just a couple of minutes. If this is how they do for a stranger on the road then I suspect they probably treat people right in their shop. Thank you Bryan.

Ivan, Brian and the mechanic team are amazing. They work on classic cars as well as imports. They did lots of work on my 83 Chevy C20 and recently did work on our daughters Volvo. This hidden gem of a shop is a one stop shop with honest and freindly staff. Their work is great and they are very fair and transparent with prices. Our go to shop for all mechanical needs.
Have always found the men at Breaking Point service station to be friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I far prefer taking my Toyota there as opposed to the Toyota dealer!

Regrettably, I had a collision accident on a Friday afternoon, shortly after I arrived for a visit with my daughter, having driven from Oakland County, MI. I was able to drive my vehicle to their location, but was very unsure about driving it all the way back to Michigan on Sunday. They gave it a complete inspection, secured all loose parts, and took it on the highway to make sure it was safe to drive back to Michigan. They were awesome! Very professional and very reasonable pricing.

Was charged $400 to replace the reservoir tank! for coolant!! Drove the car 3 miles and it overheated again. Went back and was told they could help me and id have to come back tomorrow. No Satisfaction for the wasted day and the $400!
I was very impressed with Breaking Point Auto! I blew out a tire while passing through the area. I was able to leave my car overnight, and received prompt communication the next day regarding my options. A tire was ordered and I was charged a very fair fee. I would highly recommend!
Great customer service very knowledgeable personnel. Had a hard time finding a shop that would work on my H1 hummer good prices and updated progress reports. Would definitely recommend and will be going for all my other car needs.
I cannot speak more highly of the guys at breaking point auto. I’ve had my 1970 ford f-100 since 2019 and have struggled to find a mechanic who could work on it and give it the love it deserved and needed to run properly and safely. I am so glad I found this team here bc they were finally able to identify fixes and mods that could make my truck run better and safer than ever before, that no other mechanic was ever able to fix like they could. Very happy with the work they did to my truck and it drives like a brand new vehicle. Cannot recommend them enough for any job you have, be it on a classic or your new car. But if you have a classic car and need a pro to work on it, this is the only place to go where you’ll get the job done right in the Chicago area

I purchased an 87 Bronco XLT, Ivan and the team went through the entire vehicle, did a great job getting her back to life and took the time to research issues that were more complex. Look forward to bringing the Bronco back to get some upgrades this summer.
Ivan was super helpful and upfront about the services offered and how much they would cost. He also explained exactly why he thought my car needed what he suggested, and even said that the brakes were better off than we thought, thus making it potentially less likely I would buy brake service from him. Quick and easy, haven’t had the work done yet but so far things were great.

Had a new engine installed and they did an amazing job. Cleaned everything in engine bay so it looks great and runs perfectly. Job was done on time and for a very reasonable price. Will definitely go back if I need any other work done.
We have used Breaking Point several times in the past few years for minor repairs and always had a great experience. This time, I had a more substantial job - replacing a busted transmission pump. They did a fantastic job at a price of less than half what the dealer was proposing to charge. Always friendly, top notch work, local, and great value.

The service here was excellent. My car happened to die as I was getting gas. After a new battery and an alternator I asked the staff to inspect the car since I hadn’t had it serviced in quite a while. They gave me an honest assessment of was necessary to keep it road-worthy. They performed several services at reasonable prices and in a timely manner. I was very pleased.
