If you have the option to choose your garbage disposal company, choose literally anyone else. Customer service is horrible, the workers that grab the garbage are HORRIBLE. No one ever gets out of the car. They’ll literally knock over your bins and leave the mess everywhere and then customer service makes you PAY to get the missed pick up because it “wasn’t missed”. I HATE this company and the POOR SERVICE they provide!!!!
What an absolute waste of tax dollars this company has turned out to be. I sincerely don't understand how they manage to stay in business with all the complaints. You've gotta be bad to make a whole city miss Republic Services. We were forced, without notice, to switch to LRS at the beginning of the year (end of December actually) and I haven't gotten a single pickup since then. I've called quite a few times, left a firm message, was given the run-around about "Oops, we sent out the wrong schedule, sorry," was assured they'd pick up as normal this week, and STILL they missed another pickup. I just cancelled my service with them (recycling that I paid extra for) and was even told I may not get a refund, even though I have had absolutely ZERO service from them. Not so much as an empty can was ever picked up, despite leaving my bin out 24/7 for the past 2-3 weeks hoping they'd come by. Basically this company stole $30 from me; not much I know, but when you consider whole neighborhoods paying and receiving no service, that's some serious unearned income for these fools. Worst of all, they do not care when you call to see what the problem is. Disgusting. I'll be filing a formal complaint with my city. Hopefully enough people speak up to put this joke out of business.
I was fortunate enough to be able to tour the material handling & separating facility. Fascinating. Most is mechanical. Glass breaks and falls through. Plastic water bottles bounce around and are identified for content then a puff of air blows it upwards into a separate bin (at lightening fast speed - check out my slo mo video).
Hand sort by humans takes the most time. Why? Because people try to recycle literally tons of unrecyclable material (like, who thinks a basketball is recyclable).
The facility is very clean considering what they're dealing with.
This service is the only thing worse than a scam. Want someone to answer your 100 phone calls to set up pickup? Too bad, no one works the phones. Want to request new bins via the website URL? Too bad, link is broken, probably never worked anyway. Want helpful and caring staff? Too bad again, they will break your bins and not replace them.
Do you ever wonder how some horrendous businesses never go out of business? It’s simple, they survive solely on our tax dollars and city contracts
We have been attempting to cancel our services for 2 months and as of today when we called they still said it is not canceled correctly in the system! Customer service has been poor via phone and email. We have also paid to have our bins picked up and this is the 2nd week that they will not be picking them up. It is very frustrating to say the least. Do not recommend.
Absolute Trash. Staff is garbage. Management is Garbage. They missed my pickup. I called for 2 days non-stop, constantly getting put on hold and being transferred to phones that just went to voicemail. After countless calls/voicemails a manager finally calls me. She promised that my trash would be picked up the next day. They Never came. More calls. More voicemails. Went the entire week without picking up my trash. Had to take my trash to my work dumpster as I had family over and was accumulating more trash then normal. Finally after days of calling and trash piling up, another manager(Lucy) finally calls me back and advises they will take the weeks pickup off of my bill and send me some trash stickers to make up for the inconvenience. They still charged me for the missed pickup and the stickers never came... I called back after a couple weeks, to inform them the stickers never came. The receptionist tried to tell me that mail just goes slow sometimes but I could buy some stickers and I'd probably get them faster...Why would I buy stickers when you offered to send me them for free and they NEVER CAME??? Absolute clowns. Finally just gave up. They never respond to calls or emails. It's a shame there aren't other companies to chose from. Instead we are forced to deal with these losers.
Horrible! World’s worst company to deal with. They think nobody works and can have you hanging on the phone for hours. Today no garbage was picked up again. The recycling was picked up along with the leafy bags but no garbage pick up. This is for the complete two blocks. I also had the garbage man follow me deliberately as I was getting out of my driveway. He sped up, missing many houses. I almost got into an accident trying to get away from him. Nobody should ever do business with Lakeshore!!! It is a disgusting company. Why villages hire them is beyond me.
Way too many of these trucks and they make so much noise and back all the way down our street. I don't know why our town switched but I think it was cheaper and it definitely shows.
Truck hit our mailbox in July, breaking it. The company has yet to do anything about it. Ghosting our calls and not giving us answers. Do not use this company

People who make a good profit can spend some money on this system
The workers are super rude, especially front desk lady, when I said that she doesn’t have to be that rude, said she doesn’t care if we are coming back to do business with them, because they have tons of customers anyways
We spent more than $6,000 doing business with them last year, because it is the closest recycling place to our site, but now I better spend 30 more minutes traveling to different recycling site, than ever coming back here again.
$65 for clean shingles be aware northbrook location. When I mentioned they told me over the phone $40 they said it is for different location and they are sorry but didn't want to do anything with that
Customer service is there, reasonable price for dumping asphalt. Upon arrival after getting the weight of the truck you could see debris and nails everywhere. No clear path to dump after leaving I check my truck for nails well what do you know I picked one up even after being very careful. There needs to be a cleaning crew out there blowing or sweeping the nails, heck they sell a magnetic debris pick up tool at harbor freight tools. Very disappointed hope this is taken care off in the future so I can return for more business.
