Today is January 27th 2026 my car was towed by this company on January 25th 2026 . They tell their drivers to tell you one price to take it and then once their they upcharge I get it business is business .but they made sure to mess up my center console before giving it back yeah that’ll definetly show me not to mess with you guys . But they’ll try and tell you this review is fake and all but no it’s not.

The worst company ever. Less than 24 hours passed, but they charged me for two days. They add all kinds of random fees, and when you ask questions, they don’t answer anything. First you have to pay, and only after that you get to see the receipt — what kind of nonsense is that? People are just standing in line while she sits there scrolling on her phone. Never use this company. Absolutely the worst.

Got my car yesterday from them. Car got towed the day earlier, but got charged for 2 days. When it wasn't even 24 hours. She said they use calendar for dates. Also the car was brought up to the front immediately after cold start, when it was -15 outside. Inside the car was dirty from the touches, looked like oily hands.

My vehicle was towed by this company after an accident at the request of the police on a small residential road (not a main road). I was in shock after the accident, and from the very beginning, when I returned the next day, I clearly told them that I was ONLY there to retrieve my personal belongings because I had medication in the car that I need to take for a medical condition.
When I arrived, I said good morning and no one responded. One man at the desk very rudely said “Yes?”. I immediately explained that I needed my belongings due to medication in the vehicle. Despite that, he told me I had to pay $525 to get my car. I again explained that I did not want the car—only my belongings and my medication.
He then told me I needed a claim number from my insurance. I called my insurance, obtained the claim number, returned, provided it, and was asked to sign paperwork specifically for removing my belongings. I signed the documents and handed them back.
After that, my friend arrived and mentioned he had contacted a junkyard and was waiting on pricing. After overhearing this, the employee suddenly changed his tone and said they could provide towing themselves. I declined. At that point, they changed their position again and said I could NOT retrieve my belongings unless I took the car.
I reminded him that I had already signed paperwork allowing me to remove my belongings, including my medication. He then closed the speaker window and refused to speak to me.
I asked for a supervisor. A woman sitting next to him—who had been watching TikTok videos the entire time—said she was the supervisor and told me I would now have to pay $200 just to retrieve my belongings, even though the paperwork was already completed.
When I questioned why the rules and prices kept changing, I started recording for my own protection. At that point, they refused to speak and walked away.
Because they refused to release my belongings—including medication I had clearly explained I needed—I was forced to accept a junkyard deal just to get the car out. When the junkyard arrived and I returned to pay, they suddenly changed the price again to $375, cash only, down from $525, clearly after realizing they were being recorded.
This experience was coercive, inconsistent, and extremely unprofessional, especially considering it involved a post-accident situation and access to necessary medication. Prices and rules changed multiple times, and staff behavior was rude and dismissive.
I sincerely hope the owner is aware of what is happening here. This business has the wrong people in the wrong positions, and customers in vulnerable situations deserve far better treatment.Jan 06, 2026 -

I had a very disappointing experience with this tow company. Communication was poor, timelines were unclear, and the level of professionalism fell well below what I would expect from a service provider in this industry. Simple questions went unanswered, and follow-through was lacking. Even starting a vehicle was too complicated for the staff.
When you’re dealing with a tow situation, reliability and transparency are critical, and unfortunately this company did not meet those expectations. Based on my experience, I would recommend exercising caution and considering other options.Dec 17, 2025 -
Called dispatch they said they would get a truck out in 60 to 90 minutes. Waited two hours and called dispatch again. They said no trucks available due to a police incident. Then a driver called me. He said he did not have the correct truck for my situation and he had to call dispatch. I never heard from them for the rest of the day. Next morning dispatch called and said the driver reported he called me and left me several voice messages and I did not pick up. I never moved from the place I was sitting when the driver called me initially. I have no voicemails. Either a mysterious phone glitch or somebody lied. Would not recommend.

My semi broke down , they were out in less than 2 hours , the tow truck driver (Wyatt) was very professional and quick at the job .. if ya need a heavy haul company this is the one!

This company is TERRIBLE! Probably the worst. We had requested for them to meet us at a tow yard in Chicago. NO SHOW FOR 3.5 HOURS! We were quoted $500 and they couldn't even show up. Excuses were made as to why they were late. Ended up cancelling their service after waiting for hours. The row we ended up getting was ONLY $175! This place deserves to go under and rot. Overpriced? Unreliable and RUDE! Do not give these losers your business.

Got into an accident and unfortunately, police had my car towed by Lin-Mar Tow Company. Within just 2 days, my bill was already over $600 – talk about ripping people off! They pile on random fees that make zero sense: a $55 “flatbed fee” on top of the tow fee, how else you going to tow the car if not on the flatbed, a $150 “tow out” fee just to move the car out of their own garage (which I could’ve easily done myself, but of course, they don’t allow that). Total scammy behavior.
To make matters worse, the place feels like it’s stuck in the 1980s. They only accept exact cash or checks – no credit cards, no working with insurance companies' electronic payments. In 2025, that's just ridiculous.
The staff? Rude, mean, and completely unhelpful. They treat customers like an inconvenience. The woman handling accounting walks around like she owns the place, and not in a good way — she’s dismissive, condescending, and totally lacks any sense of customer service.
If I could give negative stars, I would. If you ever have a choice, DO NOT use Lin-Mar Tow. You’ll regret it.Jul 10, 2025 -
Typical American business who can only survive based upon who they can cheat and rip off in order to line their pockets and pay their kids tuitions. My van broke down number of years ago. They towed I. Van started right up. No problem. Went pick up vehicle. They refused to release it to me unless I paid for a complete brake job, which we all knew was not needed. The charge was $1200. My van was held hostage unless I paid the $1200.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Lin Mar Towing towed my car after an accident, and everything that followed was an absolute nightmare.
Despite the car being in my name, they refused to release it to me, ignored multiple calls, and when they did answer, the owners and managers were hostile, rude, and unprofessional.
They also charge completely overpriced tow and storage fees and take advantage of people during stressful moments.
To make matters worse, they are thieves!! When I finally got my car back, my gold necklace that was in the center console was gone, along with a pair of AirPods. The AirPods no longer show a location and the last ping just so happened to be at a halfway point between the accident site and their facility. Ironic, right?
As a woman, I felt unsafe throughout the entire experience and had to leave this review from my friend’s account for my own protection.
I would never recommend this company to anyone. They are disrespectful, overpriced, and dishonest! And they will take advantage of you, especially if they see that you’re a woman alone handling the situation. Simply disgusting!Jul 03, 2025 -

I've been using Lin-Mar Towing for all my car needs and they have been absolutely amazing. They are super fast getting to you. They have a great team and consistently exceeds expectations and deliver high-quality work when it comes to getting your car towed, needing a jump, etc., and mostly, they are very careful handling your car. Mano and his team are absolutely delightful to work with. I would definitely recommend this place.

If I could leave a negative review with zero stars I would, but since the lowest I can do is one star I guess that will have to be. My company van was in a collision where the van was totaled and towed by Lin-Mar Towing and recovery directly from the crash site to their yard. The van had thousands of dollars worth of equipment, which some of it went missing after the crash. The funny part is my driver who was involved in the accident had a Chucky doll as his copilot and passenger whom coincidentally also went missing. Lin-Mar no has a horrible reputation of theft, and the fact that they went as low as taking innocent Chucky from the front cabin is not only mind-boggling, but pathetic as well. The fact that Lin-Mar has had so many thefts committed by their crew is DISGUSTING!!!!!!!…

My semi was ordered to be towed by the county, and while I was initially overcharged at the front desk, I managed to resolve the issue with the manager, Junior. He assured me that the funds would be reimbursed.
Overall, I've had a positive experience and found their management to be adequate and helpful. I would recommend doing business with them!May 19, 2025 -

I was $500 short of getting my car back. I asked if I could pay what I had and come back within a day or two to pay the remaining balance plus whatever fees incur within that day or 2. Of course they said they couldn't do that. I didn't ask to leave with my car, I just wanted to pay down some of the debt. And what's worse of ALL the belongings that were in my vehicle they only listed 2 items, I guess in an attempt to make me look bad. No mention of ALL the other things that were in there, which I'm pretty sure they stole. Yea sure those things are replaceable, the way they handled this, the rudeness over the phone, the nonchalant attitude, was beyond unnecessary. Tables do turn.

I had some issues with my SUV, so I assumed towing to the dealer was the best option after I couldn't get it started. This was on a Saturday early evening and dispatch let me know the drivers were dealing with an accident, but was hopeful it would only be an hour - was a little longer and they did keep me informed. When Louie showed up, he knew the problem - helped me get the SUV running and probably saved me $500+ from using the dealer.

I’ve had many cars and trucks towed…and a few days ago my car broke down and I was stranded. I called Lin-Mar Towing and this was the best and stress free experiences that Ive had with a towing company. They sent Pete who helped tow my car and he had great customer service skills which I appreciate. Going forward I recommend Lin- Mar Towing and thanks for help!

Car broke down at a stop light. Tommy got there super quick and made sure I was cooled off and safe in the tow truck before quickly getting the car all squared away. He made sure I knew what was going on every step of the way up to the very end of dropping me off at the service center. He made everything so smooth and effortless that it turned a not so good time, better. Highly recommend you call Tommy!

Lin-Mar towing is a wonderful company to work with and Oscar, one of their truck operators is an amazing, dependable and in genius employee! I locked my key in my trunk 30 miles from home. We are a one car family and I had it.
911 gave me their number. Oscar got the car open but not the trunk. God Bless Oscar and Lin-Mar for allowing him to come back with tools and ingenuity and got my trunk open!

Lin Mar was called out to help do recovery on our truck off 294 due to being run off the road. Tony and Louie came out they were both professional and awesome to deal with. Louie stayed till end to make sure we were good after tires were changed. The invoice was more than fair. I would highly recommend them for any service

I had negative experience with this tow company. My car was stolen and then found, so the police called this place. They charge me $335 for 2 miles towing - rip off - which is very excessive and the employee at the front desk she was very rude. She asked for cash on the phone, and when I got there I gave her 400 but she doesn’t have change money to give me back. - if you ask for cash, then you expected you to have change to give me back - She asked for exact cash so I had to go somewhere to break $100 very rude people. I had to call the police for them because they give my car to a different towing driver, without verifying with me first. Horrible place with horrible attitude. Stay away they will ruin your day.

Don't listen to all these bad reviews. I've used Lin-Mar so much for business tows and accident recovery. I've also used a few other different companies. One did a bait and switch on the price and the other dented the hell out of my toolbox. That's what I get for NOT using Lin-Mar. The drivers are all professionals and they know their truck and the job. This reflects well on the company as a truck repair shop owner. No wonder they have all the police contracts. Can't go wrong with them

Had a poor experience at this place today. My cousin’s car got towed away by Skokie police due to parking in construction zone which happened to be right outside his house. Google listing says they are open 24/7 but when I call them, the person on the phone says they are only open till 5pm.
I call them back to check if they are cash only business or if they also take credit/ debit cards, the guy picks up and puts me on hold for what seems like an eternity, I finally give in and hang up. When I reach there I find out they are cash only business which is no where explicitly mentioned anywhere on the premises. The guy rudely goes on to quote the amount I owe them and let’s me know they are cash only. I have to go half a mile to a bank to get the cash and when I come back with the cash, the guy seems too busy to even acknowledge me and goes on to say he can’t find the document.
No wonder they have so many negative reviews. They claim to be in the business for over 65 years but the customer service is severely lacking. Good luck if your vehicle ends up getting towed by them.Sep 14, 2022
