Worse experience had at any shop I have taken a vehicle too!!! They tore my under cover at around the corners then added zip ties too stripped the bolts and didn't have the courtesy too inform me of said problems.i found out of side problems when I took it to a different shop who at the point of the oil change said do too liability would not be putting the cover back up that helps protect the engine. I would not be returning in the future
Awesome place best price for buying scrap metal Everytime. Competitive for the precious metals but not always the highest for copper or aluminum! Workers here are awesome people there always kind and very helpful and nice in general!
No issues get in and out. They have a clear shot to get at the scale. The usually have employees outside to direct you to where you can dump your scrap. There's also a cool Easter egg if you want to see history. See if you can find it on your next vist.
Terrible prices...the payout for #1 copper is way less than #2 at other scrap yards, they pay by check, and the process of getting in, unloading, and finally getting paid is ridiculous

Every time I’ve come in the past 2-3 years there has been an issue. Either it’s with the kind of scrap I have (brake rotors, transmissions, engines, etc) or it’s an issue with where I pull in because the crew is so disorganized. Everyone is rude, feels like they have the freedom to open the doors on your truck to look for the yard number, and stands around instead of directing traffic. The only upside to going to lemont scrap is getting the check from the ladies up front who at least have customer service skills. The crew complains about what I’m scrapping yet I see others dumping the same items with no issue.
I’m done with Lemont scrap, I’ve found Lockport Scrap easier to use and no longer have issues recycling everything. Garbage service at lemont scrap Processing.
Pricing on lower end. Ladies in the office is nice. There is a Older guy weights out then metal. Rude & bad attitude!! Rather go somewhere else then to deal with that from now on
is it weird to rate a scrap yard? Doesn't matter, gotta give credit where it's due. I've never scrapped before, went here and everything was clearly explained and the people in the office were nice and helpful. The fella out in the yard telling me where to park was super nice, friendly and beyond helpful. Excellent experience.
