Bro i been tryna get my money for a week now going on 2 from (DAVE )the owner) MY SHOP DROPPED their engine last week. The owner said he had to check it & it don’t take make to much sure a motor still works(turn it like yall did when i bought it). Didn’t even install the motor at all they gave me the wrong motor. Now im calling 100times asking for him & they keep saying he not in & cursing me out saying crazy stuff. Most UNPROFESSIONAL place ever. YALL GOT YALL ENGINE! I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!
I purchased a used engine from them back in Apr 2025 and they sent the wrong engine even though I provided the VIN to make sure engine matched car. I've been trying since April to get my refund from them and all I get is an we will call you back. I've been waiting on a callback since then. They even told me one time HR representative wasn't available and was gone for the day even though don't know what HR has to do with then refunding my money. The engine they sent it still sitting on the pallet they sent secured because I knew it was the wrong engine when first received it. I will never order anything from them but wanted to give them a shot. So be aware and if you have to pay before they shipped don't send it via Zelle or Cashapp because they won't refund the money to you. I've reached out the Illnois Attorney General recently about the matter.
Would not recommend this shop at all, I returned a turbo beginning of January when i originally placed the returned pick up in December, I have been talking to someone every week to get my refund and still have not gotten an exact response. Every time i call, they say they are NOT in charge of refunds and the person who is in charge is NEVER THERE. Very unprofessional
UPDATE: its now JUNE and still have not received a refund
Dont be concerned about the bad reviews, The staff was amazing and kept me updated every second of the way and got my order packed up to ship the same day. Very easy to work with and will continue to do business in the future. Thanks big top auto and Daniel for assisting me
I just talked to Mike and he was extremely helpful. He looked up where I could get my parts. He gave me parts numbers and spent time looking for places I can shop. I highly recommend this place. Thank you, Mike.
Horrible place bad owner i recently tried to place an order for 2003 Ford F-150 Engine on 17th December, but it seems that the price is to high and we decided to cancel the order and advised do not charge the card. But they charged our card with out authorization and did not issued the refund we keep calling everyday to get the money back but what we getting is run around, Its is going to be almost 2 months now they are playing around stating the person who works on the refund is not stepped in will take care of this today. end of the day no response from them and lies after lies. I see that few more customer faced the same problem regarding the refund this people just charge and take the money and scamming the customers. I don't know what is the name of the owner they never tell his name or they don't have his contact number, i spoke to 2 people (Daniel and Mike) every time i call they keep telling it will be done today. But they really don't... I really suggest people do not deal with this salvage yard...
I’ve bout many engines and body parts from Mike the new sales guy and let me tell you they did a wonderful job. They are quick with response and solutions! Highly recommend.
Got a motor from this company through a third party marketing. Motor was locked from delivery. Big Top Auto don't want to give me my monies back. I sent two reports from two different mechanics; both mechanics said the motor is locked and the only way to determine is to break it down. Big Top Auto refuses to refund me nore are they cooperate with the marketers who sold the motor for them. Bad business.
WARNINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG, DESCLAIMERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, I bought an engine 4 months ago and it didn't work. i ended up swapping it out with 3 other engines that they had and non of them work, they took all 4 of them back and it was such a waste of time that i lost and they are not going to pay me back for that time... obviously. I've been calling back for a refund for 2 months now and George that picks up the phone is a compulsive liar, he said his putting emails (i don't even know how many emails he has put in in the past 2 months that he has supposedly told me) in for Paul that is in-charge of the refunds, but he doesn't want to get on the phone and do his job right. the owner was no where to be found and on vacation for the passed 4 and continuing months. idk if its true but mike and Dave maybe are employees there and just give me the run around. i think everyone there has 2 to 3 other names. WARNING don't buy from here.
To your response, this isnt Nubia this is the only guy that you talk to before Nubia took over and I was right there when you told Nubia that you wanted to bring her flowers and you was asking her for her snapchat but she didn't give it to you so u gave her your cell phone number and your snap chat name"grenudo5050 ", and we invited you over just to get on your good side and you said what you said (you know) , ALLL of our phone calls are recorded on a recorded line , I DONT lie to the people especially when they trust me with their cars! But tell me how ALLLL of your other reviews are EXACTLY THE SAME??? but its cool GEORGE I hope my check is down here by the time that you told me that you are coming between 10am than u put mike on the phone and said 12pm ( . if not... its cool will take other legal matters, and the receipt for the refund we got it don't worry and it also shows on camera when you driver gave me the receipt in the entrance of the garage. and EVERYTHING IS LEGAL DOCUMENTED PROOF AND TRUTH. FYI who don't like a nice cold one after a great successful week plus you was all in it to have one with us!
This company does not know what they are doing and should get out of the business. They rely on a third-party to fulfill their orders in which they ship incorrectly and then do not want to take responsibility for that. I ordered a 60 and got a 53 and it was like pulling teeth to get them to pick the motor back up and claim responsibility, do not buy from this company.
Horrible place bad owner I bought a used engine and transmission combo in July of 23 the transmission went bad after 3weeks of driving, came with a 90 day warranty ok cool, I let them know at the end of August of 23 I’m just gettin a refund on 12/26/2023 don’t do business with these guys
We ordered a U-Haul at this location with a pickup time of 9am. We arrived exactly at 9am and the doors were wide open with nobody inside. Had to talk to a neighboring business to call the owner and have them come down to the shop. They arrived hungover, said the truck was broken and refused to give us the keys. Had to reschedule with U-Haul which took over an hour. Terrible experience.
I purchased a Transmission from them and they seemed like nice people. Brought it to my mechanic and he said it had broken electrical components on it and said we can’t use it. I brought the transmission back and was told by Jorge that he would have the boss return the money on Monday. I was told that he was returning the money just wait two days for the credit. Never came. I called and have got the run around about it since. I have recorded all of our calls so at least I can prove what was said to me. I asked for another one even and they didn’t have one. Easy just refund the money but nope. I was told now that I have an in store credit. Na no thanks. Disputes filed. Don’t trust them
They have quite a selection of parts however not very organized. The staff is poor with not enough people to get the parts off. This is one of those places you go if you're desperate for the parts.
Not trustworthy were promised to have a running replacement engine installed that has been paid for $3,500.00 dollars in 1 week back in November. It's now The middle of February we have no truck. They (Dave) gives you the runaround & excuses why it hasn't been repaired , it seems no one KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING.
I ended up coming to get parts that I needed and didn't have the tools I needed the guys behind the counter asked for my I' d and gave me the tools I needed to finish my project... big top is a good place to go....

I called BigTAuto last Wednesday to find a headlight for my 2011 X'Terra. They had the part and installed it for cheaper than a few other places quoted. Also, one of the mechanics included, for FREE, some ancillary components of the headlight that I was clueless about.
This place is the worst..... I drop my car off to get fix they never fixed it ...... It was at Big top for a week ...... Don't go here really bad business..... I hope this place close down
Bought a Motor from them. It ended up being seized. They ended up refunding me but it took a while because of the banks but I still received my refund. It I need something and I can't find it locally, I will still go back to them
Purchased a new after market front bumper and fender on a Friday and was told I would be able to pick it up on the following Monday. I called the following Wednesday and was told that they got the wrong part and they sent it back for the correct one and I could pick it up on Friday. Called the following Monday and was told the same story as the previous week. This went on for 6 weeks until I finally received my parts delivered to my house.
About 2 months later I called someone to install the bumper and fender on my car and they told me upon looking at it that it was the incorrect part for my car. He said in fact, that the fender and bumper were for two completely different cars (neither of which were even close to my model). I ended up purchasing the correct parts from the gentleman that gave me this information for half of the price I paid to Big Top.
Upon calling Big Top to return the parts and get my money back, I was told there was a 40% restocking fee to return. Obviously I told him this is ridiculous and Dave at Big Top told me that the warehouse are the ones charging the fee and there is nothing he can do. I asked him for the name of the warehouse and I called them and spoke with their manager and they told me they have never and will never charge restocking fees as long as the product is in original packaging. When I called Dave back he all of the sudden changed his mind about the warehouse and gave me another name of a warehouse that is was "actually" purchased from, and of course no one answered at that warehouse. For the next 2 weeks Dave and I negotiated the restocking fee and finally he agreed to 20% and he would come pick it up. I asked him to send me a simple email stating this information and I have been waiting now for 3 weeks for this email.
These people are very expensive and dishonest and according to BBB I am not the first person to be taken advantage of by these people.
