Very late review but had to give them 5 stars very friendly staff and my car had a huge leak coming from the radiator and they got me back on the road the next day they definitely would've had me back on the road the same day but they had to order the part so I understand plus they dont overcharge on the inspection thats one reason I chosed this place rather than other places that wanted to charge me almost a week worth of work just to look at the problem
Co2 went out in my car , brought it in and all taken care of . Have always had great work done here. Mechanics know what they are doing at this place . I would recommend coming here
I had an outstanding experience with Flossmoor Family Auto. Bill took the time to talk through my concerns, got my car in right away, diagnosed the issue quickly, and explained everything clearly. He even went the extra mile by checking over the rest of the vehicle for safety and giving me honest feedback. The repairs were done on time and the car is running great. It’s rare to find a shop that’s this reliable, transparent, and genuinely focused on helping the customer. Highly recommended.
Worst mechanics take my car there with one code get it back with five do not take your car here unless you want to get ripped off they are the worst kind of mechanic The ones that try to make you have to pay them to fix what they Mess up
Wonderful service. I live an hour north from here and was working in the area and got a nail in my tire. I stopped in and they plugged it up right away for $20. Good honest people. The women behind the counter were very kind and gracious. I wish this shop was close to me, I'd come here for all my services.
A week and a half ago called the shop to get a quoute on replacing my coolant overflow tank on my audi, the young lady ask for my phone # I gave it to her incidentaly its a 773# she became hesitant and then she ask for my address, I then told her I have my own part at which point she says they don't accept outside parts because of warranty issues, I said fine, I will return the part but I would still like to bring the car in for service, she brushed me off by saying I will call you back. I think I think these people are selective in who they serve and if you are from a different area from them and sounds different then no service, this very prevelent in the south suburbs.
I’m so glad I finally went to Flossmoor Family Auto. I was having issues with my AC and kept also saying my cars engine temp gets all wonky too and every other mechanic I took it too never could fix the issue. This went on for 4 summers. Turns out I needed a new radiator. Everyone else only ever looked at the AC. Flossmoor Family looked at the whole picture. I only take my car to them now.
They're always friendly and make your experience as delightful as possible, quick and reliable. I am definitely going to continue to go to their facility
This place has been good to me so far. I started going late last year for oil changes and their prices are good and they've recently remodeled their waiting area. Stephanie and Brian run the place and they're very friendly and kind and make you feel welcomed. I'd definitely recommend checking them out if you're anywhere near the Homewood/Flossmoor area or surrounding suburbs!
Local and friendly neighborhood shop. Went there to see if they could repair a problem with my European car.
They couldn't fix the problem-- a major electrical issue requiring dealer assistance--BUT they didnt charge me ANYTHING to inspect and troubleshoot.
The staff and mechanics at Flossmoor family auto are courteous, thorough and fair with their business. I appreciate the honesty and frankness of their evaluations and will always recommend them to anyone.

Very disappointed that they would be so dishonest. Brought my car in to get my brakes checked and was quoted $1100 to repair brakes on a Mini Cooper. I thought that was outrageous so I brought to a mechanic that works for the dealership who said nothing was wrong with the rotors only the pads and showed me how smooth the rotors were. What a disgrace! They totally took advantage of me and figured I wouldn’t question the quote. Even NTB quote was $500 less.
Known this family for close to 30 years, and they have never failed to deliver on the quality of their work. Friendly, honest, and affordable. They stand behind their work, and are always ready to help. Give them a chance to be your repair shop!
Excellent facility nice waiting room clean comfortable. service people we're nice and polite what a good experience and my car is running that's the most important thing. I will come back to this facility again and do business with them and I will recommend them to people.
Victim of Discrimination or Racism? It was arranged with the manager, Bill, for me to bring my car in for repairs, he knew the Make, Model and Year and the problem was either Air Hydrolics, Struts, etc.? When we arrived he looked at us, we are African American, then Without putting the car on the lift to inspect the vehicle he said, "sorry I can't help you I don't have tools to work on your car" We did NOT walk in out of the "Blue" this was arranged over the telephone. I am a Disabled Veteran and had arranged for my Fiduciary to make the Payment In FULL for the repairs. I don't know if we were victims of Racism or Discriminated against because of Veterans Disability. We will follow up with other agencies about this. Finally, we were told to go to Euro auto in Oak Forest which is a shop that has been closed down out of business for years.
This is the auto garage that has worked on our cars for seven years. They have done nothing but earn our trust. We feel they have been extremely honest with us and an honest mechanic (in our humble opinion) is worth their weight in gold. They have let us know what we need done and their prices have been consistent with usual and customary practices.
More than this, you are only a stranger once. They get to know you and treat you like family. Need a ride home while they fix your car, they give you one. One time, they came out for our dead battery, jumped it so we could take it over and get the battery replaced.
We are confident that if you go to Flossmoor Family, they will earn your trust. They will earn your respect. They will earn your business. And they will never take your business for granted!
So I have used this company for years on 2-3 different cars. I live in Flossmoor and they were call "Family Auto" which made me feel confident I was dealing with a small company that put the customer before their greed. I was wrong. I have had a couple of problems with them over the years but this year I let them put an engine in my car. I paid close to $6,000 for this work and when I went to pick up the car the girl at the front desk given me a "by the way, the car also needs rotors blah blah." I was appalled as I felt they should have shared this BEFORE putting the engine in the car (they had the car for two weeks.) I spoke to a mechanic who reassured me that this wasn't an immediate problem and that they were a little rusty but the car is fine. I drove the car ONE time and the back tire started smoking. I let them look at it again and now they tell me I need all new tires, all new wheels and new rotors and breaks in the back (over $1000.) The mechanic proceeds to say he thought it was a bad idea to put the $6000 in the car in the first place. I was furious. Obviously I am not going back. I will get pricing on getting the car up and running (since I just blew 6K) but I will not spend another dollar on this establishment. Of note...yes they are nice people. Just typically greedy business types behind the scenes though. By the way the mechanic said he told me the car wasn't going to be worth it to repair which was a complete fabrication. Dishonesty angers me more than losing money...slightly more.
I was in the suburbs when my car suddenly wouldn't start. I had it towed to the place recommended by AAA. Extremely nice people, no they told me the car couldn't be repaired without sending it to the dealer. I then paid to have it towed much farther back into the city to my mechanic, who repaired it within 3 hours and had me on my way. They are great with old cars not newer ones.
It's best to have an idea of how cars run. For people that don't this family owned business will con you out of your money. The name and photo on the reception desk make you believe they must be honest. Ha wrong! I brought my vehicle here because it stopped near their shop. They called me back and said and I quote "something is wrong with the engine and its going to be real tedious work and cost $700 for a diagnostic on the engine". I instantly called a tow truck to pick up my vehicle and take it to a mechanic I trusted. When I took my car to the other auto shop I was told that the spark plugs were not in the correct order and I needed a new alternator. I paid $150 labor $95 for the part. I am currently driving and my engine didn't need to be taken apart for $700. Don't let the name con you out of your money these people are not honest.
I love these guys~ The owner is a great man who I trust to be honest with me. I have seen him offer his help and automotive support to those in need. I like the family owned business~ its close to my home and I know I can count on them!
