First accident ever that needed repairs, and Autokrafters was SO easy and nice to work with! They followed up, worked well with my insurance, and did great work. I feel very secure knowing we can come here if we have any more unfortunate mishaps!
They did such a good job with my car! After an accident, I had to get my car door replaced along with a few other fixes to the paint and . They did a great job in about a week's time and my car looks good as new. They also worked with State Farm and helped coordinate my car rental so I had to do basically no work. I'd come here again if needed. Thank you all for your great service!

I found Autokrafters after I was in a minor accident last summer that left my passenger door stuck and slightly ajar. We were leaving for family vacation in less than a week and I needed my minivan to get us there. I started calling around to Allstate’s list of shops and the first two were less than helpful. When I came across Autokrafters Google listing said they were LGBTQ friendly which was a welcome surprise for me. Little things like that matter to me and my community. I called and spoke with Ernie telling him that I just needed it driveable. He assured me they’d do their best. Sure enough, the team got it workable. Thank goodness because they were still dealing with supply chain issues and it took a few months to get all the correct parts. When they finally got everything in stock, they did an incredible job with the repair. It looked like new. They handled everything with the insurance and it couldn’t have been smoother. I have nothing but respect and appreciation for Ernie, Bill, and the rest of the Autokrafters team. They truly made me feel welcome and taken care of during an incredibly stressful time. They were definitely my heroes, and I told them as much, for helping me get my car on the road while we were waiting. 10/10 have already recommended them to people. Thanks so much y’all.
I’m from out of state and just got here with a new 2021 car but sadly it got hit while parked one day. My insurance had this place on their list and I was nervous since I’ve had not the best experience with auto shops in general when I lived in Idaho, but had to get the work done despite my worry. This place will now be where I will take my car if I ever need and will be recommended. They took care of everything better than my insurance did. Not only did they fix everything perfectly to where you can’t even tell there was ever any damage, but they cleaned the inside of my car too! My car looked almost as new as when I bought it! Even washed my tires! I can say I’ve never had a shop clean my car like that for me after fixing. They were super fast as well. I expected to wait a week and they had it done in just a couple days!
I used Auto Krafters in Des Plaines to get some body work done on our Honda and they did a great job. Not only was it great customer service but they made our car look fantastic and did so quickly and at a fair price too. I would highly recommend this body shop if you need work done.
I whole hearted believe they did an extremely mediocre job on my vehicle. It seems like the person that worked on my car was extremely lazy and unskilled. I should have inspected everything closer upon pick up.... life lesson. They're paint jobs do not last, and they will not honor warranty. They'll give you "the business" instead. Also, they'll return you're car very filthy on the inside. You're floor mats will be covered with mud. To be fair, they did offer to clean my car out but they would probably do a mediocre job on it so I'm ok. I can clean it myself. It would be a huge waste of my time and gas to return for something I can do myself. I wouldn't be surprised if they used the cheapest material's for parts and charged insurance for the real ones! If I ever need a service like this again, I'm going to Gerber. I've heard nothing but good things from Gerber. Unfortunately, I learned the hard way by going to Auto Krafters. My year old car is literally a junker thanks to them. Thanks guys! Much appreciated!

He was able to get me in and fix my paint rubs in no time. Being well impressed by the outcome work in my car I just dropped my son's car who needed few touched up. We have brought two cars to Autokrafters in the last couple of years, and both times had great experiences. The first car needed dent and paint repair, and it looks brand new. Recently we needed the front fender area of our van reattached, and they really worked miracles to keep our cost down while making it look and function well. Also, everyone was very friendly, and they have a quick turnaround tome as long as they can get the parts in. Can’t recommend them enough!
Everyone deserves to make money, especially artisans who have been extensively trained and certified. As much as I hate to dish out the hundreds of dollars often needed to stay proud of my Town Car, these guys don't disappoint. Spot on detailed flawless work at seriously fair pricing. If you want it done right (and I mean factory OEM standards). This is the place to go. A small unobtrusive facade on Golf Road hides some of the best honest down to earth autocrafters you will find in the area. Recommended without hesitation. Came back several times after initial satisfaction.
I needed major engine work on my 2011 GM SUV. It has high mileage but otherwise in good shape. Ernie and my husband determined it was worth having a new motor installed. W O W! The work was performed in a timely manner, the cost was reasonable (certainly less than the cost of even buying a "new" used comparable SUV), and I feel like I am driving a brand new version of the SUV. It is amazing - it drives like brand new. Talking to the manager (Ernie) and knowing that the mechanic is skillful & experienced really helped us to make an informed decision about our car.

I took my car to Autokrafters after being rear-ended. They fixed my car ahead of schedule, returned it cleaned and even polished the tires. Autokrafters of Des Plaines worked on my tricked out Wrangler. I was rear ended and they replaced the rear bumper. Not only did they do a timely job, they also connected the rear lights. The last guy didn't connect them. What a treat.
I mentioned I needed a bigger vehicle for my job. Time was not on my side, and I didn't call to request a larger vehicle from the Insurance company. These guys even reminded me. "Just give the insurance company a call, and they will take care of it."
They called on the spot, and got me the larger car. Just them calling blew me away. To top it off, the rental company had a larger car available. Bonus :). To be honest, in my situation I didn't have any paint work done. What they did do on my Jeep was top notch. While they were waiting for me to pick up my car, one of the guys even was touching up an old scratch with a pen so the scratch wouldn't be so obvious. They didn't have to do it. I have driven past that place a thousand times. I'm glad I was able to get my jeep repaired there.

Ernie and Bill are friendly, professional and most important, knowledgeable in their chosen field. They had my car fixed in a timely manner and Ernie always kept me updated where they were during the whole process. They even detailed the interior of my car before I picked it up. The Autokrafter's team was a pleasure to work with. Being in any type of accident is inconvenient (to say the least), but they put the situation at ease. I was rear-ended on a Tuesday and was back in my vehicle the following Thursday. My car looks brand new! I say this without any exaggeration, but this is the best automotive body shop you can possible go to in the northern Chicagoland area. Not only is the quality of their work top notch, but the quality of their SERVICE is unbeatable. Ernie and his team will bend over backwards to make your car perfect again, and they will make it perfect every time. The fact that the business has been successful since the 70's is testament to that.
