This place is genuine, honest, and reasonable. When I got there, they were empathetic toward my car situation. I trusted their knowledge and capability right away, it was clear they knew what they were doing. They offer reasonable rates for repairs and are open late even on a Sunday! They know cars don’t only breakdown on Mon-fri between 8a-5p. They’re ready for your Sunday 5:30pm car emergency. Thanks again for all your help guys! I was here yesterday, they fixed my tire, but the next day it went flat again. I went back, and they showed me another tire, but it was the same one. I paid twice, wasted my time, and missed work. I went to them for the third time. I was there that same morning, but they didn't find anything and sent me home. I paid $25 because a black cap had come off the wheel. After lunch, the tire was flat again, so I went back to them, and only then did they find the cause; the tire needed to be replaced, it was full of holes and beyond repair. They didn't notice this; they just took the tire off, put it back on, charged me money for who knows what, and sent me home. When they finally noticed that the tire was beyond repair, they returned $60, but I lost three days of work. I missed work for three days, and the stress was immense. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
When my former mechanic retired, I thought, ‘oh no - now what?’ I didn’t want change, didn’t want to switch, and didn’t expect to be satisfied. Then came Bob’s Auto. Well, no complaints here. Bob and his team won me over. They have far more capacity than my old shop, yet the honesty and reliability I depended on for years didn’t go anywhere - spoken by this once‑reluctant convert.
Genuinely some of the best people! Went above and beyond when I needed some last minute and emergent type help with my car. They were so kind and welcoming, and got my car right in and worked on it diligently in a timely manner. Being out of state I would drive back to come again. Go here seriously!
They are not 24/7 don't waste your gas drive here after 10pm! I was here around 10:30pm and called them 30mins outside the shop nobody answered the phone and door was locked, if you're not 24/7 open then don't lie to people, we aren't driving here for empty place and nothing!

I pulled in hoping for some advice, and the team here exceeded all my expectations.
The staff were immediately helpful and understanding. They quickly diagnosed the issue, cleared the code, and told me to just keep an eye on it and come back if it returns. Here's the most amazing part: they did it all for zero charge.
In an age where most repair shops would jump at the chance to charge for a simple diagnostic, this store showed true integrity and kindness. A wonderful lady on the staff even gave me a reassuring pat on the shoulder and said not to worry about any payment. Her simple act of kindness completely took away my anxiety and made my entire day. I damaged my jeep compass liftgate several days ago, then I wento Bo'b's Auto & Truck Repair, Brian Edward, the boss of this store is very nice and responsible, he found one very good condition and the similar color one for my car , give me a very good price , and i told him can give me the car as soon as possible? he gave me my car within 24 hours, so amazing, I really appreciate him. and when I saw my car, I cannot believe my eyes, I cannot tell the difference at all. I strongly recommend this store, quick, effective and fair price, good work too. Honestly speaking, if near future my car has any problem, I will ONLY go to this store, they won't charge you very high price and easy to communicate, it is NOT that easy to encounter such a wonderful auto repair store nowadays. I brought my car into Bob’s Auto because I was hearing a noise coming from the front suspension. That was the only issue—no problems with steering, turning, or anything related to the wheel. Just a noise. I asked for a diagnostic to find out what was going on.
The mechanic, Brian, came out, turned the steering wheel back and forth for maybe 45 seconds, then told me I needed a new rack and pinion and quoted me 2500. No inspection, no test drive, no looking underneath the car—nothing. Just that. He was basing it purely on the noise.
Even the girl in the office thought it was strange. She questioned him, and according to her, he seemed irritated and just said, “he knows.”. He finally pulled codes after she prompted him and then briefly mentioned that I might also need a new battery. Again, another half ass misdiagnosis. For context, My battery is a year old, fully tested, and working perfectly. I’m assuming he based that on some of the past voltage codes (which aren’t current)—which are probably from the car sitting, which I had already explained it had been.
I was also told that if I didn’t fix the rack and pinion, my power steering would go out. That’s a pretty bold statement, especially when I’ve had zero issues with my power steering and there isn’t even a code to show for it. The only thing going on was the suspension noise. That’s it. That noise could have been a million other things and guess what, it was.
I found out the actual issue was just worn struts and bearings. A much smaller and more reasonable fix. And the noise is completely gone now. If I had gone with Brian’s guess, I would’ve spent $2,500 for a problem I didn’t even have—and the noise would still be there.
The fact that this kind of diagnosis was given without any real inspection or testing is unacceptable and just so unprofessional. It was like he couldn’t even be bothered with it. And then seemed annoyed when being questioned for his half ass diagnosis. I didn’t even pay for the diagnostic (which I came in fully willing to do), but the whole experience made me feel really uncomfortable and honestly kind of insulted. If you’re going to recommend expensive repairs, you need more than just confidence—you need evidence. I thought with the good reviews, I would be able to trust this place but that’s far from the truth. UPDATE In Response: There’s absolutely no miscommunication. I brought my car in to get it looked at and potentially fixed. I think if you just plan on just doing a “quick safety check” you should tell the person that. I was under the impression that my car was going to get diagnosed, because, well that’s what you plan on happening when you bring your car in? I think you should also rethink how thorough your “safety check” is because turning the wheel back and forth doesn’t cut it in my book. Had you actually done a “safety check” and looked under my car you would have seen that it was in fact, not safe to drive. The noise is gone and that’s what you based on me needing a new rack and pinion right? When I took it to a different mechanic, he laughed. It was so far out of left field. I know it’s hard to admit when you’re wrong but you were, and no amount of excuses can ever justify quoting someone 2500 based on a sound. I find it funny that you keep saying “out of kindness” when in fact you’re just trying to cover up how unprofessional you were. And I never said I was pressured, in fact, I said you seemed like you couldn’t be bothered with it, and that is the exact opposite of that. It was the misdiagnosis, the indifference and the lack of investigation that put me off. I think anyone trying to justify a diagnosis or as you like to call it “safety check” by merely listening to the noise, is wild. That’s like a doctor telling you that you have a broken bone without actually looking, feeling, or x-raying it. I truly can only wish that you will be more thorough with others in the future, because how sad it would be for someone to take you at your word and to still have the same problems.
We got back from vacation at 1am with 6 kids, only to find that our car wouldn’t start. After trying multiple times to jump the battery without success, we made the decision to tow the car to Bob’s Auto & Truck Repair since they’re open 24/7 and located conveniently near O’Hare.
I arrived at 5am with all six kids while my husband handled the towing. Despite the early hour, the owner was incredibly kind and welcoming. He did everything he could to help us troubleshoot the issue and make us comfortable while we waited.
In the end, we had to tow the car to the dealership due to not being able to wait for parts and the urgency of getting our family home — but we were genuinely impressed by the honesty, professionalism, and care we received. We’re very thankful and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Bob’s Auto to anyone in need of reliable, trustworthy service.
Had a flat at 9:00 pm I didn’t think any shops were open this late, I googled shops near me and this place came up, called and they said to come in, I was in and out of there in under 20 minutes I’m so happy I was able to get my flat tire fixed that quick and didn’t have to worry about it in the morning going to work! And it was a very reasonable price! Staff was friendly and professional. Well worth it especially for the convenience!!
My parents are at my house visiting from out of town, and on their way here, were involved in a side-swipe hit and run accident. I was concerned about their safety, driving a car with fender damage, and called Bob's to see if they could take a look at it and give a professional opinion. Brian was MORE than accommodating! He met them within minutes of our call, inspected the damage, and even provided some minor repairs.... free of charge! He couldn't have been more gracious and kind, especially under the last-minute circumstances. I've never utilized their services prior to this afternoon, but definitely will from this point forward. My battery and brake symbols were both popping up on my dash when I would turn on my A/C or Heat. Turns out being the fan assembly. I stumbled across Bob's Auto & Truck repair via Google and a man named Jay who found the issue in less than a minute. Probably my best experience working with a professional mechanic who is customer oriented and extremely helpful. This man worked on my SUV the same day and he put some time into my project and the results were outstanding!!! I can't thank you enough Jay. I recommend this establishment to anyone who is in a jam and needs Honest mechanical help!
FANTASTIC! Breakdown ON my son's birthday, freezing cold , and they were absolutely amazing. Not being from around the area, one must always be cautious where you're heading after dark, but they made us feel safe and treated us like family! When it says 24 hour, that's exactly why they mean. Everywhere else was closing and I was assured that if he's answering the phone he's there! The moment he found out it was my kiddo's birthday he jumped into action. His better half heated up some danishes and filled them with candles, he let my son help him and then sent us up to play pool above the garage in the warmth, while he worked to get us back on the road as quickly and safely as possible. Another memorable birthday for my kiddo in the books! I hope to not have any more breakdowns along that stretch of road, but if I'm close, I know who I'll be calling.

If you want a HONEST mechanic that's going to tell you the TRUTH about your car problems, then I strongly suggest that you go to Bob's Auto and Truck Repair, and ask for Brian, because I've dealt with many, many mechanics over the years, and I have yet to run into a truthful mechanic that's going to tell you just like it is. Chain organizations are the worst to deal with, because they're only after the money and they're certainly going to JACK UP the prices! Worst service ever. They charged $45 for replacing battery(I provided the replacement battery), $135 to diagnose engine, $150 to tow the car to my house(6 milese away). And send the car with open window. It is 4 degree outside. I can't close the window because the battery is dead. I can't open another doors because it is power locked. The techinician kept saying "I don't know". After argument, he said he will come here to close the window after 6pm. But, I'm not sure he will even come. They charge $320 and dump my car like a garbage. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Commets to your reply. Brian, you are missing my point. You said you knnow my battery is dead and you probably understand what will happen if you open the window and send to me. I can't close my window nor can't open my tailgate to take out my stuff. I was struggling last night to take out my stuff through side door in minus degree. It is -6 degree now, and you will be resposible for all the damage by the cold weather and snow.

Can't say enough about these guys. Great shop and the best service. I bought new tires to replace the old dry rot ones on my "31" Ford. But I was having a hard time finding someone to swap them out because of the wire rims. Not A Problem: Turns out Bob is an old Model A guy, and had them ready for me next day at a reasonable price.

Our business cargo van started having issues in route to a clients home and happened to pass Bob’s auto repair shop. My technicians stopped there just before 7 AM in hopes that they were open. No one was there yet so they tried calling the number. Bob answered and said he would be right there. Five minutes later, he showed up and pulled our van right into the shop to have a look at it. After a few minutes, he immediately was able to diagnose the issue. It happened to be a labor intensive job that required about a week to have the repair completed. Being a business ourselves, being down a van puts us in a difficult spot. He told us he would do it his best to get it done sooner. Lo and behold three days later he called and told us the van was ready. We are thrilled with the quality of his work, his professionalism, and the timeliness of the repair. We highly recommend this company and will continue to bring our vehicles here for maintenance.
My daughter got a flat tire at 8:00 on Friday night and was leaving for a road trip early the next morning. We called the shop and the guys waited for us to get there and repaired the tire quickly and professionally. The price was very reasonable and there is a great group of guys working at the shop. I have definitely found my new go to shop and I will be referring all of my friends.
My car broke down after hours in the middle of an intersection. This was the only location that would be open by the time the tow would get me there and they had great reviews, so I decided to take my car to Bob’s.
Brian, Bob, and Pat were extremely kind and helpful. They came outside to help direct the tow truck into their shop and had the car fixed by noon the next day as promised (on a weekend I might add). Their hours are amazing and they are thorough in their diagnostic and professional. What’s more, Pat drove my wife and I back to our home since we were without a car.
I was going to bike to pick up the car the next day once it was fixed, but they offered to pick me up and bring me back to the shop since I didn’t have a ride. Car is fixed and running well in record time. Very knowledgeable and kind business. 10/10 recommend.
Today I was driving to work and got an alert that my tire had low air pressure. I was an hour away from home and did a quick google search of the nearest tire shop and Bob's came up with great reviews! I walked in and was greeted by a wonderful man who came out to look at my car and said to pull it in. After investigating, I needed 2 new tires which they did not currently have. He said they could get them by the afternoon and have me on my way. I am currently waiting for the car to be done but the service I received from the beginning has been awesome! If you are in need of a good shop, Bob's is your place to go!
