It's really a shame that mechanics like this still exist.
By that, I mean they prioritize their own profit over customer satisfaction, or even customer safety.
I didn't get the repairs nor the service that I expected and have been cursing this shop daily (with every mile & crack in the road) since.
It seemed as though nothing I ever said was heard nor listened to, unless it was turned around & misquoted for their own benefit.
While I didn't catch them doing anything technically illegal (he was very careful to acquire the necessary permissions to do the work) it was certainly immoral.
This shop lives up to the classic perceptions of mechanics taking advantage of less mechanically-minded customers.
Don't leave your most prized possession in the hands of these charlatans.
The sign above the door is a hand of playing cards & bluffing is what they did best.
My first mistake was showing up to this mechanic... My second mistake was deciding to get any work done... My third mistake was listening to Tony's overpriced (& unnecessary) recommendations.
Numerous times during our interactions, I wondered why he was speaking to me as if lying & hiding something - because he was. When Tony seemed overly "positive" about something innocuous, it was because he was hiding something else he didn't want me to know. Every bluffer has a "tell".
After only one year of driving, the one part that needed fixing (replaced with cheap after-market parts against my stated preference) is now broken.
My vehicle (which used to give me great joy to look at and to drive) is now a source of daily stress.
Instead of increasing the longevity of the vehicle (my intention), they caused additional damage to the car with the contextless "you're gonna be the only one who notices" as my only departing clue.
Since leaving "Ace" (so named for the 5th Ace hiding up their sleeve, not for their expertise) I have been ready to sell what used to be a car I'd hoped to keep for at least another decade.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ As a woman, I completely approve of this place. Usually, my dad takes care of anything car-related for me, but sometimes I have to handle it on my own — and in the past, I’ve gone to places where I felt taken advantage of.
This experience was totally different. Tony was amazing! He got my oil change done during my lunch break and even filled up my tires. He was honest, respectful, and efficient.
It means a lot to know there are places where women can feel safe, respected, and not taken advantage of. I really appreciate that, and I’ll definitely be coming back.
Great experience here! Easy to make an appointment and Tony was easy to communicate with while they were working on my car. Informed me of a big problem I was having with my car and even gave me a heads up about something I’ll need to fix in the near future. They had the work done same day as promised. My car is running so smoothly now. Will definitely be back
I've been here about 4 times. I've had no issues getting my car worked on fast and no issues with traveling here. Easy to find with a big sign and pleasant workers. Peaceful atmosphere, comfortable seats, and the manager is very helpful with explaining the process. I will definitely be coming here for all my auto repairs.
Even after years of coming here, this place is still one of the best places for auto repair, I can't recommend it enough, and it's more affordable than most places I've been too.
Finally a shop you can trust. If you are looking for repair work Tony @ Ace Tech is the man and his Team is incredible. Tony is amazing. He shoots straight and tries his best to keep prices reasonable. He modified a muffler for my car to save me $200. After 4 years, it's still doing its job. Ace Tech has done about half a dozen jobs for me, and I haven't been disappointed.

I took my car in for a complete engine replacement in addition to many other repairs. Tony was very responsive and took good care of my car from the beginning. Hopefully the car will last me many more years. So far it's looking good and if there are any problems with the repairs during the warrantee period, I'm confident that Tony will take care of it!

I'm usually very skeptical about bringing my cars in for service, but after hearing several friends and family members speak highly of Ace Auto Repair and Tony, I decided to bring my car there a year ago. Since my first visit, I was really impressed by their work, honesty and integrity and have continued going there ever since. I am very happy with their services and highly recommend them to many of my friends and coworkers. If you use them once, I am confident you will continue coming back.
If you want great customer service at a great price, you will find it very hard to beat Ace Tech Auto. I've been having my car serviced for years at Casey's Automotive in Palatine, which is very professional and does a very good job. However, the last time I brought my car in was to deal with cupped tires that were the result of bad shocks. Casey quoted me $2,600 for the front and back shocks and 4 tires. My brother told me about Tony at Ace Tech so I went there. And, boy am I glad I did. Tony did my back shocks with tires for $750. He said my front shocks and tires probably had another 15,000 + miles before they would need to be taken care of. So, if I do those at the same price (or roughly), I'm still looking at the total price being nearly $1,100 less than Casey's. That's a lot of money. I have been recommending Ace Tech to everyone I know and whoever has gone there has had nothing but great things to say.
Tony has been my go to guy for several years now. He has economically kept two older high mileage cars on the road for me. Always on point and there for me when i have an issue. Tony is a solid, straight shooter and you never have to look over your shoulder and wonder if you're getting ripped off. Great mechanic, prompt and very reasonable.
Tony has been working on my vehicles for close to 5 years. From simple repairs like brakes on my Lexus GS300 and Toyota Sequoia to a complete suspension and steering rebuild on my Mercedes SL500. Tony does high quality work, takes ownership of the repairs, and stands behind his work. His rates are very reasonable and his schedule is flexible enough that I get work done when I need it. I’m a repeat customer and have always been satisfied with Tony’s attention to detail and fair prices at Ace Tech. Tony has worked on my trucks and my wife’s car. With several vehicles in my household I used to check prices at other shops. Today, I won’t take my vehicles anywhere else except to Tony. Tony has repaired for me everything from brakes, to valve cover gaskets, to timing belts to tie rods, ball joints, axels etc. He gives me options for the repairs and is honest, knowledgeable and timely. I’m glad I found a great mechanic, and have peace of mind knowing that whatever repairs/maintenance come up Tony will get it done at a good price with quality work.

I've taken my Honda cars to Ace Tech for the past year and have not been disappointed. They have very reasonable prices and do excellent work. The owner is honest about the work that needs to be done and has integrity. I'm extremely happy I found this place. Ace tech auto surpassed my expectations! Initially I came in for an oil change and that’s exactly what I got for an awesome price, but I also had some major issues with my car prior to me visiting this shop. The owner ordered the pieces through his shop and received them in just 2 days. He replaced both control arms and I also received a courtesy service; all of which were done for AN UNBEATABLE PRICE, especially for a Mercedes Benz . I’m so appreciative of the ace tech auto team! I would highly recommend them. THANK YOU AGAIN! Be back in a few months for an oil change.
Went to this place because my nephew recommended it and was hesitant at first. Honestly, it's hard to find an honest mechanic and of course, someone that fits the bill. And let me tell you, my experience was wonderful. No scam, no pressure. Tony was so helpful and give us suggestions. Some mechanic don't bother fixing my 1988 Chevy but he took good care of it. Now, I don't care driving all the way to this place. Tony is the Man !!.. Hands down...
