After a serious accident they towed our vehicle to their location. The next day we called to access it and retrieve our belongings as the vehicle was a total loss. The owner was extremely helpful and kind with her first concern being my wife's welfare and condition from the accident. She came from home to meet us at the location and helped with anything we needed. We will use their service whenever the need calls! Thank you!
I recently had an unfortunate tire blow-out while on my way to work. I called E&L and they were on-site within 20-30 minutes (at around 7am, mind you!). They very thoughtfully towed me to a tire replacement center near my place of work, which was so awesome of them. It's nice to have a local business with great service. Highly recommend their services.
I’m a former automotive technician, but I still get asked to fix cars for friends from time-to-time. So when my longtime friend’s mom needed something looked at, it was no surprise they called me. My friend’s dad passed away many years ago, and they let his vehicle sit in their garage until they were ready to face dealing with it. My friend’s family didn’t have the heart to get rid of the 1985 Ford van that he loved so much…especially because it only has 20,000 miles on it. The van did not run, so we decided to call a towing service to bring the vehicle from Streamwood to Belvidere…as a result, we called Ed & Lou’s towing.
It was very strange to us that the vehicle arrived hanging off the back of the tow truck, as opposed to being on the top of the flat bed. Later when we looked at the van and we could see the front-right corner had body damage. I immediately called my friend, and his mom to ask when the damage occurred. They were very emotionally upset, as there was NO body damage on this virtually mint condition van.
After showing the damage to another friend who professional auto body repair technician, he informed us this was a text-book injury and that his shop sees this kind of damage from time-to-time. He explained that when a vehicle hangs off the back of a flatbed tow truck and the tow truck is backing up, that it takes very little for a vehicle to jackknife and cause this exact damage.
I called Ed & Lou’s towing to explain the situation, but was greeted with aggression, animosity and vulgar language. I asked if he would consider coming and looking at the vehicle, or allowing us to bring it to him so he could conclude for himself that the damage was caused by his tow truck. Furthermore offering to pay him one hundred dollars for his time, if he could honestly say the damage was not his fault. Ultimately the phone call ended with him explaining that I was on my own.
I WOULD NOT recommend this company, or their services under any situation, and I’m not sure how they can sleep at night while being so dishonest, disrespectful and overall just mean.
Exactly what you would want from a towing company. Fast and reasonably priced service. They picked up my SUV from my driveway and took it to a local repair shop in under 2 hours from my call.
When my car broke down, my insurance company sent Ed & Lou's out to tow my car. The driver, Dustin, was there very quickly and had my car loaded up in no time. He was professional and polite, if I need a tow in the future, I will call Ed & Lou's.
My son totaled his car and they towed it, they were the most helpful and kind people I have done business with in a very long time. They went above and beyond and I couldn’t be more appreciative. Thank you!!
Terrible service. Transmission went out so I had to have my car towed. They lined my car up crooked so the rims rubbed on the rail when unloading. While unloading, my transmission was jammed so he bounced the winch up and down to try to get it off, essentially put all my cars weight on one A arm. Yet to be seen if it's going to affect driving once the trans is fixed. Because of the angle of unloading he had it at, my front bumper got absolutely destroyed on the front lip. He tried telling me it was just a scratch and it would rub off, but it was clearly destroyed down to the plastic of the fascia. Absolutely pathetic.
My brakes went out of my mother in laws car. ( and i like my mother in law ) I call Ed & Lou's they gave me an ETA and we are very pleased with their service.
