We needed to move our modular home and at the last minute we had no one. Tilford's saved the day!! The gentlemen they sent out was patient and professional
Can't recommend. After speaking with several other tow companies the price we were charged was declared highway robbery by most. Son rolled truck. Was 30 feet or so, flat tow on rollback with truck on its wheels in corn field and Police called them, not us, even though we wanted to use our AAA and were given 30 min eta. We are an EXPERIENCED TOW FAMILY and there was NO SPECIAL EQUIPMENT used short the winch cable on a standard rollback towtruck and the "full recovery response was 1 rollback, 1 driver". I was with son in ambulance and did not speak tow operator. Husband did. We wanted truck taken to our home 4 miles away. There was NO CLEANUP done in field which was a mess of parts and glass and there was nothing in road. It was a simple hook and pull. Husband was told to tow to house would be $600- that's 4 miles folks, or they would bring truck to their yard, not charge storage, charge $300 + truck title. Son drove tow in Rockford and this was at max a $200 tow for 4 miles. Told friend tow op in area and watched jaw drop when he heard Bill. I get you need to make $ but this was a simply winch off field, nothing complicated and I had to go back and clean up the mess left in farmers field after he ce to melt house complaining of mess that was left. Yes, accident bills are more money with cleanup etc. But this job had no cleanup. I ALWAYS tip drivers as experienced tow family but at this price there was no way. While the workers were nice enough I just cannot recommend.
Chose this place because of reviews...and couldn't be happier. Had a breakdown on way back to central Illinois from Milwaukee. Wife did a quick deep dive on local shops and this one jumped off the charts with the reviews. Alternator went out, and these guys would have had it done in one day...for a customer driving through, unscheduled, etc...if part sent was right. Had it done next day, at very reasonable price, and the people are super friendly...from the tow truck driver, to anyone who picks up the phone. Can't recommend more.
Brandon came and towed my car away after I had slid into a curb. He was very professional and polite! He managed to make a sour situation a little bit better! Good on him
I had a broken hose and could not use my brakes. Tilford’s towed my car in within an hour of my call and told me what my total of the fix would be the next day. They fixed the problem fast and efficiently. They are affordable and have great communication. I definitely recommend them. Thank you :)

My son was in an accident lastnight and I called Tilfords towing. Kerry was the driver and he was awesome. Very nice gentleman and super helpful with info on repairs to the car. I've dealt with other towing companies and their drivers aren't usually as nice and thoughtful. So I appreciate his generosity and his kindness and the time that he took to explain everything to me. I was shaking up as I was worried about my son and he definitely made things a lot easier. I would recommend them 100%. Thank you Kerry!

Jerritt arrived way quicker than expected, he calmed us down and got right to work, and his beautiful wife helped me with my baby while the car was getting hooked up. I am extremely dissatisfied with this company's business practices. Despite requesting a price, they refused to provide one until after completing the service. When my driver got stuck in mud, we asked about the rate and were told it would be low. Nevertheless, the cost surprisingly jumped to $750.00 just five minutes later. For context, we have experienced numerous truck winching services, and the cost has never surpassed $300.00.
I would stay away from this towing company. My mother got in a horrible car accident, and she couldn't afford the $1500!! they were asking. She tried paying with a credit card, but they couldn't take that as payment. As a good son, I went to pay the $1500 cash, but I wanted an itemized recipient because I wanted to see what the heck they were charging her for, Ive seen tow rates of 150 to 200 but 1500!!!?!? I stepped out, and I heard the guy laughing, saying he's not giving me an itemized receipt.
Cut the act you weren't this nice in person I asked you to work with me and take a picture and send it to me via phone since we're so advanced in tech these days but you didn't want to work with me. Also you took the vehicle to your shop to charge us extra for keeping it there when you could've taken the vehicle straight to our house. My mother declined the ambulance because she has no healthe care and it expensive.
The driver showed up as scheduled, did a great job loading my truck with care and delivered right into my garage so I could do the repair work. He was very Friendly and Professional. I will certainly call again should I ever need another tow!
I was so happy that someone was available to help me. The gentleman was so nice and professional. I was a little thrown back by the price to pull me out but I was just happy too be saved.
Probably great as a towing company but don't get your vehicle diagnosed or repaired here. They diagnosed my vehicle incorrectly, wasted my time, and had a bad attitude

Outstanding service overall! I had my car tow a few times and the drivers are so very nice and considerate. The last time I had my car towed last month the driver told me they do have mechanic services and received many clients when a local shop was sold. Today I found out my car does not need a steering wheel pump but just a valve for a gasket- oil leak. They also quoted me lower on shocks/struts for my car then the previous shop I took my car to. Mike waited on me and super nice. I will return - also I waited for my oil change and only about an hour vs leaving my car for 1/2 day someone else.

What a way to start the week. Stranded on the side of the road and worrying myself sick. Tyler pulls up with his tow truck and without delay pulls my truck onto the platform and we’re off to the repair shop. Tyler is so personable and reassuring. I thought this day was one of the worst ever but Tyler turned that around! Got to check off a “bucket list” item too! Thank you, Tyler! Nice truck!
I had to have my car towed. I chose Tilford's Towing and there was some confusion that led to an employee for Tilford's Towing showing up at my car without my key fob there before I got there. The individual remained calm and waited for me to arrive after we identified the confusion. The towing service was affordable and there were no issues.
A rear tire blew while driving to work this morning. Luckily I had taken the back roads instead of my usual route on I90. Tilford's towing was towards the top of the Google search and had the highest rating. I see why. My call was answered promptly and the wait was about 30 minutes for the tow to arrive, which was crazy fast. The driver, Nick, was friendly and quick to get my car out of the road. Nick knew the Rockford area very well when I told him where to bring The Champagne Lady. Quite a scary morning, but everything got resolved today and we are back on the road. Was impressed how they kept updated on arrival time. Mike s÷med very competent as he had to position the tow vehicle in a very tight and difficult driveway to load my vehicle. The dealer reported that my vehicle arrived just fine. I highly recommend this service.
