On vacation from Poulsbo Wa. in our 2004 Yukon XL (suburban) 5.5 hours from home when we started hearing a strange sound. Called a shop in CDA to get it checked out...I suspected a wheel bearing as I've had one of those get bad in another vehicle and it sounded similar. We dropped it off at that shop around 10:30 and rented a car to go to Silverwood for our 2nd day of passes. Called the shop around 4:30 to find out if they had had a chance to test drive and diagnose and they were just finishing our estimate. Turns out it's actually the transfer case and a load of other issues including the front passenger side wheel bearing.
The price for a new TC was $4500 and after labor $5400. We only paid $5,650 for it 6 years ago so that wasn't happening.
I checked marketplace for used ones when I got back to our vrbo and 1st one I saw was from Colinn, used but only $300.
He messaged me back at 10:30 at night and even called to talk and they got me in today to get it installed.
Also found out the bearing was just fine.
JEM totally saved us thousands. New transfer case is working great. I wish these guys were local for us. Under $900 for parts, labor and new fluid. Thank you guys so much.
They squeezed me in for some help with a timing plate replacement. They communicated exactly what the plan was and took care of my truck. They even towed it for me. I will support these guys again in the future. I was very happy with the service.
One of the best privately owned mechanic shops in town. They can do anything from a tune-up to a full rebuild great shop highly recommended. Fair priced, and has it own tow trucks.
I'm glad I found these guys! They fixed my Rav 4 when no one wanted to touch it. They definitely know their stuff! They were willing to explain and answer all of the questions I had. Very reasonably priced for the repair and tow! They will be my first phone call if I ever need a tow or repair in the future!
I know Aaron will go out of his way to help anyone. He is a great person to know when it comes to anything Chevy related. He sold me a car for my wife at a very reasonable price and he worked with my budget on all the work his shop has done for me. Colin is an absolute expert mechanic. When other shops told me$4600 for a new transfer case, Colin found out that it was just a faulty seal and I paid a fraction of the price. I bring my work truck to these guys because their work is reliable and consistent. I highly recommend Aaron for any towing needs and any mechanic work. JEM salvage and repair is a shop that has integrity, they are experts, and they are the most fairly priced in town. I won't take my trucks anywhere else.
These guys were great. Had our tow jeep from motor home die and Jem came almost immediately to get us up and running.As our battery had scene end of life they fitted us in and got us up and running with a new battery immediately. We lost no time in our travels. Prompt and accommodating “even to us Canadians ”

I have bought and sold with this fellow and his company for many years. He has repaired my equipment and vehicles many times, the estimate is always correct and its never more. The work is quality, the owner is trustworthy, (and i can tell you there are quite a few in kootenai county that are not!!), and i have sent my friends there to have a great job done for much less money, several times. Two weeks ago was the most recent..................900 vs 250. Didnt need half the stuff they said it did and was fixed perfectly. Five stars !!!!

Always on task and always has the part 4 90s chevy and newer and nothing short of honesty, more than fair and that has not changed in 38 years of knowing arron! If u have the jobs no-one else can or will fix he can fix it. J's drains plumbing service n repair .
