Gold Creek Lodge exceeded all expectations. It is a little bit of a drive to get there, but from the moment we arrived, Dave and his incredible team made us feel right at home. Everyone was genuinely accommodating and friendly—it’s clear they love what they do. The excursions were long, scenic, and absolutely unforgettable. Bikes are newer KTMs and evidently well maintained. After a full day out riding, returning to top-notch food and drinks at the lodge was a perfect way to unwind. I can't say enough about how well-run and put together this operation is. Hopefully this place stays around for a long time as we will absolutely be making plans to come back.

This place is nothing short of amazing. The trails were awesome and super challenging. The equipment was perfect. The facility was perfect and surprisingly the food was amazing. The guides and the staff made sure that it was the best possible experience you could have. Probably one of the best riding experiences in America.

Ride dirt bikes on some of the the best single track... Brand new bikes, expertly maintained... Eat incredibly good food... Drink beer... Hang out with a bunch of like minded folks from around the country... Hit the lake and do some wake surfing... Best guides, best staff... Just do it... Don't think... Do it... Do it!!

The staff, lodging, and knowledge of the riding area is second to none. Great group of guys with a passion for dirt bikes and dedicated to give you the best experience possible. The food is excellent and you definitely won't go hungry. Can't say enough. Best ride ever!!!!!!

Used to be a great place to ride to, grab a bite to eat, something to drink and just chill for a while. Rode over this weekend to see a key coded gate. Sad to see it’s been turned private. What a loss. Doubt it’ll last long not open to the public.

Dave and crew are top tier! From riding, accommodating, food, and atmosphere you will not regret a visit to gold creek lodge!

I visited Gold Creek Lodge over the Labor Day weekend time period for the solo riders trip. The lodging was clean and comfy, the free washer and dryer was a nice plus. The food and service were top notch, each meal was carefully crafted (with generous portions) to replenish the calories you burned each day. Being the second to last guided trip for GCL, the bikes were in great shape and well maintained. An onsite mechanic is available for repairs and maintenance. The guide staff did an excellent job grouping rider skill level and managing daily routes. Each day you ride from the lodge, rip fantastic single track, and enjoy stunning Idaho views. My group burned an entire tank of fuel each day and I loved every second of it. The lodge is only a few minutes up the road from the public dock on Lake Pend Oreille. Each day we went for a refreshing swim in the crystal clear lake. Off road dirt bikers are generally cool like minded folks, this trip exemplified that. I made lasting memories with new friends on this journey. Bottom line, I prebooked for 2025 the money in exchange for the memories is well spent.

My dad, brother, and I spent 5 days at Gold creek lodge doing the GCL experience. Highly recommend it to everyone who loves riding single track. They have brand new Ktm 300xcw’s for you to ride on the trails. The staff were very nice and fun to hang out with. They feed you breakfast lunch and dinner, every single meal was incredible. After spending a few hours on the trail you can head out to the lake where they’ve got a boat you can wakeboard or wakesurf or just cool off in the water. Everything about this trip exceeded our expectations. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who loves to ride.

Wow! Gold Creek Lodge is the ideal dirtbike getaway. The staff is top notch all the way around, the food is second to none, the compound is insanely sick, the riding is what dirtbikers dream of, and it’s just great vibes all the way around. I promise you won’t have better food or service anywhere you go (Chad and Raven absolutely crush it). I went on this trip solo and met some of the coolest people. I felt like I’ve known them for years. I will 100% be going back. Special shout out to Chad, Raven, Robert, CJ, Aiden, Declan, and Dave. Appreciate the great time!

Gold creek lodge is a summer camp for big boys (and girls) who dirt bike. The staff is awesome, the trails are amazing, food is plentiful and top-notch, rooms are comfy. I can’t say enough great things about this place. If you love to ride, this is Mecca.

This place is the Baldface of Dirt biking! Everything from the amazing trails, delicious food, and passionate staff is as good as it gets. All the employees at Gold creek share a deep passion for riding dirt bikes, and it shows. The cherry on top is the amazing accommodations and food you get to enjoy after riding every day. I can not say enough good things about this place, will absolutely be going back.

We’ve been back two years in a row now, and would go again. Gold Creek Lodge is legit and licensed to operate tours in the area. Dave, his sons, and his crew are locals. They carry the saws and clear the trails for all, every spring and throughout the season. This is a great fly and ride destination and a great spot to experience western single track. All you need to do is show up at the airport with your gear and GCL takes care of the rest. You ride out of the lodge straight to the trailheads on new and well maintained bikes. After you’ve had enough dirt biking, they’ll pour you a beer, make you a meal, and take you to the lake.

If you're looking for the greatest place on earth to ride dirt bikes with your buddies, look no further! Gold Creek Lodge is hands down the best! We've been to Colorado, Moab, Costa Rica and Baja 1000, you can't beat the riding, the people and the overall experience. The crew is fantastic, the food is great and the riding is world class. The riding is as hard or easy as you want to make it and the bikes are setup perfectly, with fresh tires the moment you arrive. Then to top it all off, you get to jump on the boat and wake surf, jet ski or jump off cliffs until you're blue in the face after riding! We've been going here with 12 guys for the past 2 years, can't wait to go back next year! Don't hesitate, book now! Dave, Ayden, Declan and GCL crew are the best in the business, feels just like family.

Absolute EPIC package. Dave (Owner) has put together the ultimate riders trip. Entire staff was the friendliest down to earth people I have meet - Livin' the lifestyle for sure! Speedy (& Cali), Raven, Rob the tech, Chad Brown! and rest of staff/family set the bar to high for any other trip to compete with. Food was top shelf show quality entire trip, beyond expectations! The moment they pick you up in Spokane WA the fun begins. Amazing riding, tests for all abilities with views to enjoy all over. I will be booking soon for next year! "The only bad service your going to get here is cell service" From the NY Crew July 4th 2024 - We all THANK YOU!!

If you’re looking at these reviews you must be interested. Just book it and go. You won’t be disappointed. I had the trip of a lifetime. It was some of the most challenging riding I’ve ever done. The crew at GCL are so friendly and accommodating to all who come. They’re helpful and encouraging to get you through the obstacles. The real unsung heroes are the guys back the lodge handling food drink and anything you need after riding. The food was excellent and hanging out at the lake did not disappoint. It was great acting like kids skipping rocks and playing wiffle ball. Book the trip you’re not getting any younger.

It's such a shame that a place that has been around for decades is shut down for the public but strictly open for people who want to spend a bunch of money on a 4 day tour, when most of the county has their own machine. So, this has turned into a tourist attraction for non-residents. So disappointing and will not be recommending this attraction!

The best place to ride killer single track in the most scenic area of the country! Dave and his team are so great. So much fun packed into one trip. I could have not asked for anything more. Amazing bikes, great location, a wonderful team with great food and , after riding activities. All world class ? Totally remote and so worth the trip! The best dirtbike trip I’ve ever had.

A little short staffed. Employees appeared to be at their limits trying to do their job but they were very friendly and courteous. Great place to stop for a cold drink and some food! Update: after a few years they seem to have everything dialed in nice. It's great to have somewhere way out here to stop for cold beer and good food!!

Gold creek lodge … Might possibly be the ultimate place to go hit single track. Endless amount of single track I might add. The trails start at black diamond and get harder from there. Not for beginners and questionable for intermediate riders( not many trails they can ride ) I have a 40ft toy hauler and the road up there is brutal. I probably won’t take it back up there or down. The camp site was great and hookups way out there were awesome. We are at the lodge a few times and bought swag and drinks at the bar! Trail 76- known as pack saddle is an awesome challenge. Not for the faint of heart. Lots of elevation gain. Bring lots of water. Trail 22 is great! We followed this down the creek for miles and stayed cool on a hot day. Trail 111 is also great! A bit of mud here and there, float towards the end and just a blast. There is also some single track up on Spruce mountain with great views ! We hit lots more, absolutely had a blast and probably rode 45-50 miles a day. Hitting the water at Lakeview afterwards is a must. I’ll be back- Gold creek was on my bucket list for a long time and now I’m wanting to come back every year! What a place !! Wish I could ride here everyday.

To Aiden, Dec, Dave, Brandon, Chad, Jonathan, Benny, Kristen, Malory, Spencer, April, Miles, Bo… you’re killing it. You guys and gals are great and you should be proud of the team and culture you have. Thanks for the best week of dirt bike riding ever. Rooms were very clean, food was always delicious, bike was 100% and the riding was second to none. I was here for the all inclusive trip that included 4 days of riding, definitely coming back next year and I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves riding bikes. I made memories that will last a lifetime. Sincerely, Thank you.

This is the old Happy Hermit under new ownership and they continue to uphold the longstanding tradition of this being an awesome ORV, ADV bike, DIrtbike watering hole in the woods. Along a well traveled dirt forest service road trail system that follows the East side of beautiful Pend'Orielle Lake the riding is good and this location is great. It's pretty awesome to be out riding on a hot, dusty day in the summer and come rolling in to this place for a cheeseburger, some potato skins and a frosty mug of beer. There is a pretty full-service shop on site that can fix broken quads or bikes and even a hotel with some rooms if you want to stay a day or two. I've never seen the inside of the hotel rooms but the facility in general is clean and well kept and the staff seems to always be helpful and working hard to take care of all the guests.

We recently had a chance to take out the 2 seater ATV at Gold Creek. What a blast. That thing really cooks. The team was friendly, helpful, and walked us through all the details. We wrapped up with a great meal and first-rate service. Looking forward to taking friends there from out of town and heading back soon.

We weren't able to set up our tent at the lodge, short notice no available spaces. While riding the trails we ran into Dave and his girlfriend, I think her name was Nikki. Very friendly people, helpful with directions, just like minded people. Excellent food and good beer at the lodge. Our last day riding we headed up packsaddle mountain, one of the guys in our group, lost the rear axle nut and chain adjuster block about 10 miles in. I rode back to the lodge, Dave's staff had no problems giving us a loaner nut and spacer. If not for them we would have had to quit riding early, we were able to go to the top of Packsaddle MTN. I know where I'm staying when I come back to gold creek, at the lodge.

INSANE! Such a good spot and has everything you need! Awesome, endless riding and the staff are super knowledgeable and more than willing to take time to discuss and advise on the best trails! Clean rooms, bar/restaurant and food are nice, big fire pit to sit around after a long day riding, and all the staff are super cool. Pool table is a bonus too! See you guys again soon for sure!

Drove from Washington to Idaho with friends and family to experience the awesomeness that is Gold Creek Lodge. The campgrounds are full hook up and there is plenty of room for large RVs. The road leading to the lodge is pretty long and rough, but easily navigated with other passing vehicles. The lodge is clean, beds are comfy, and were a welcome site after a long day riding in the mountains. The staff is stellar, great food, and a shop for bike rentals and parts are all on the premises. Just a wonderful experience all around and can't wait to come back and spend more time at the lake, which is only a couple of miles down the road. The trails are brutal, challenging, and will test your skills for sure. The views at the top are well worth the effort!

We stayed in the RV lot in a 40' motor coach. Unbelievable, we arrived at 11 pm and drove the motor home on the crazy dirt road going up the mountain! Thankfully, it was dark and we couldn't see the cliffs. Road is well maintained and graded. The next morning we rented top of the line Scott electric mountain bikes. The kids had a great time riding the extensive trails. Greg - a former Redbull Rampage rider, showed the boys some seriously steep trails. Later that day, Greg took us out for our first foray into wake surfing on their awesome Mastercraft X24. Everyone was able to get up and Greg and Steffan were amazing instructors. Overall, we had a killer last weekend before school started. The wake surfing was definitely the highlight. The e bikes were awesome and and the food at the restaurant is pretty damn good. They had a prime rib they had smoked for 5 hours on the Traeger that was really tasty. The road back was not as intimidating in the daylight and went by faster. I suggest leaving in the morning if heading back down the mountain on a weekend, as there was a lot of ATV traffic.

Gold Creek Lodge was beautiful and amazing. We stayed in the RV spots and those were very clean and spacious. The trails are out of this world and challenge you in every way. Fantastic views of the lake from up above it, but the only day we got to the lake there wasn't any place to park and it was very small access. That was disappointing. From the website they made it sound like it was better than it was. The only other complaint was the road going past GCL was right by the RV spaces and the amount of traffic was crazy. People drove past there at ridiculous and dangerous speeds. The dust was horrible. They did at one point try to oil the road, but because they couldn't block the road until it dried, the traffic ruined that within a day. Staff was friendly and food was pretty good. I hope to go back again.

My husband, 5 year old daughter, and myself stayed over in the yurt at Gold Creek Lodge. We had driven past on our ATVs going to Lakeview and thought it looked like a cool place to get away for the weekend. The yurt was very comfortable. It was roomie and could easily sleep 6-7 people. The night got cool but we were plenty warm and I ended up throwing off the duvet. There is a bath house/restroom not far from the yurt and we never had to wait to use it. The restaurant was very tasty. For dinner we had an assortment of starters. We had a basket of fries, ribs, smoked wings, and chicken nachos. The nachos and wings were excellent. Fries were also very good. Ribs had a great taste and the BBQ sauce served with them was amazing but the ribs themselves were spareribs and not as meaty as we’d have liked. For breakfast we had Your basic breakfast (Eggs, home fries, bacon or sausage, pancakes or French toast). I had pancakes and they were really good as was the sausage. Husband enjoyed the French toast and bacon. The staff was very accommodating. Our daughter has an egg allergy and the gentleman (I think his name was Chad) checked a number of items for us. I hope to make this a frequent stop while we are out on our atvs and am looking forward to staying again.

We visited Gold Creek Lodge for 3 nights of August 2018. We arrived to warm welcomes from the staff. They all had a laid back attitude but ran a tight ship. The rooms was affordable, clean and recently remodelled. Ray made an amazing dinner for my girlfriend's birthday of organic grassfed beef. Wonderful! Riding was amazing! Lake was amazing! I highly recommend staying here and will certainly be back!

What a cool little place in the middle of nowhere! Definitely visit it. Our server Jacob was awesome! The best experience we have had. Great beer and awesome drive to it Edit; came back a couple of weeks later, and it just gets better. Service and food was again a 5 out of 5, but on the trip up my Jeep got 2 flat tires. Jacob helped me take the two tires off, patch them, and put them back on with a messed up arm. Absolute best service I've ever experienced. Check this place out!
