Really nice, organized and helpful people. Great location too. I only wish they would accept lids on plastic bottles that says “recycle with the bottle”. I understand all the others are not to be recycled.

I drove by the usual location in Kaneohe on Alaloa Street and noticed that it appeared they relocated, I didn't want to drive to Kahalu'u so I called the office to see where they were at. A very nice and calm speaking lady promptly answered the phone. She gave me directions and I noted that the time was 4:13pm and she said that they close at 4:45.
I drove around the block and got to the site at 4:15 and stood in line. The workers were helping customers for about 5 minutes before the manager told me, "Uncle we're closing, these are our last customers."
Prior to making my phone call to RRR's business office I read the Google reviews and noticed that there were several reviews stating that the manager stopped the line for customers early. I replied to the young man that I just spoke to the Office lady and she said that you're open til 4:45. I made a call back to the office the same lady answered the phone. She recognized that I had just spoken to her and said, "No, tell them that Aunty Toni said that you're open!" While speaking to Aunty Toni a worker brought me 5 cans for my recyclables saying, " Here Uncle." Too late, I was already speaking to Aunty Toni and thanked her for making things right. Immediately after hanging up my phone, the young manager received a phone call and sat down for a few minutes. He then returned and told several other customers that arrived after me that the time is 4:32 and you have 13 minutes.
Thank you Aunty Toni!!Jun 20, 2023 -

Very fast and Professional. But, the first hour after opening up the computer usually freezes up or the money van is late with no backing in parking for five vehicles. I’d go in hour later when it clears up.

5% take? Naw, try a 53% take! I know they've got to account for all sizes of plastic bottles when weighing, but still... that's ridiculous. I might try weighing some heavy bottles for comparison, but after that will just take 200 at a time (their max to count).

Quick and easy.
Plastic and aluminum cans need to be separated as well as glass.May 08, 2022 -
It can get very busy but if you make a special note to respect the staff by rinsing out your juice/soda bottles and removing the tops and not crushing the bottles, they're actually very nice people. Think about how gross it would get if people didn't rinse out their bottles. Its really not that hard to be a good human. Live Aloha!

This place is very busy and the people that work there're friendly and are patient. They try really hard to keep everyone and everything in orders. The morning time seemed to be the busiest time and everyone trying to get done before lunch. We know they take a lunch break and come back to work. We think they don't have a chance to have a truest lunch break because people are still in line and waiting. We make special notes not to go around lunchtime. They deserve a break too and they're working hard and as fast as they can to keep up with recycling crowded. I would highly recommend this location and we're glad we found them.

This place is ok. I usually go to the recycle place in Waipahu when I go out there to run errands. The Waipahu place takes your items from your vehicle, weigh it. You just pick up your money.

I bring approximately a close amount of recycle items can, bottles ,plastics every 2 months averages 35- 40 dollars , this particular trip I had a full load that should been in the $40 zone.
But to my surprise it 50% less $20 it was the end of the day and they are moving fast and mistakes do happen, so my point keep them honest on there accounting. I always tip but never over 50%. Good luck !Jun 19, 2021 -
Went to the RRR behind Windward Mall today. I have not gone to any HI5 recycling place since 2017 and then I always used the one in Waikele since it was really close to me. Took 108 12 ounce beer cans, 23 plastic bottles and 32 glass bottles for a total of 163 items. Going in I knew that all of these recycling places skim and I wanted to know by how much. I asked to have a manual count done since I knew I had 163 items. Sure enough, I was credited for 32 glass bottles, 23 plastic bottles, and only 100 aluminum cans. The skim rate at this place is roughly 5%.

If you are open till 5:00 p.m. then stay open till 5:00 p.m. I got there at 4:45 and one of the workers said "We Closed" You need to update your website or times. Sucks driving all that way for NOTHING.

Friendly atmosphere. Be sure not to cross the orange cones. After parking vehicle just grab green container(s) and fill. If recycling bottles please be considerate NOT to exceed carrying limit. If it's too heavy for you then it's too heavy for the employee. Also be doubly sure to remove bottle caps and separate your items according to size. Examples..1 liter in one can, 16oz in the other, etc. One important fact is RRR Recycling ONLY accepts HI 5 cent and will NOT Accept Airline products.
