I'd rather overpay somewhere else than deal with the rude staff at this office. The woman at the front desk insulted me, asking if I was born in a barn, just because I asked to see a part before paying.
I bought a used transmission for 650$ to go in my 1986 c10 suburban last year in June or something idk but I just want to say that it's been driven for months now and I have had absolutely ZERO problems with it. I am very satisfied. Thank you guys! As you can see in the photos the fluid is still clean and bright red/pink. As it should be.
UPDATE as of Saturday, August 2nd 2025 the transmission is still operating smoothly and the fluid is still clean! No problems still. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
P.S.- I daily drive this thing. Sometimes hard and its still good. :) A+. Knock on wood though LMAO!
If you're getting a part hoping that if it don't work, they'll honor they're warranty, don't go here. They'll say you damaged it. I had bought a transfer case and got it covered in grease which is fine but it had a crack. They said it wasn't cracked when it left there like he has xray grease vision. I didn't even see the crack until it started leaking. They did say they would fix it but I didn't want to install another hoping it won't leak. Like all the other reviews, the lady up front is rude. Maybe you leave the kids at home and you won't hate your life ma'am. Please say they're not in training. I deleted a post to calm down and give an honest one. Dude, your wife if that's her would make any man miserable. I'm sorry man.

granted I’m sure they are able to sell some good products here and there and they have been around 60 years, but when you are selling products and refusing to do any returns, it’s not hard to stay afloat by scamming.
Called from Cleveland Tennessee a hour before th y closed and asked for a part the staff said we have it and I needed to make it there by 5 pm I made it to the business at 455 like I advised the front desk woman and the owner and staff were very rude and would not pull my part gave me a nasty attitude they are definitely not professional and do not recommend using this unprofessional business I drove a hour to be turned away service
I've been calling around all day trying to find a 2002 steering column for a Tahoe and they were the only ones who had it I went in and told him what I was asking for they went right out to get it in less than 30 minutes they had already took the part off the other car and brought it to the office they are professional friendly and got me in and out reasonable prices
We had a good experience with Chattanooga Valley Used Parts. Good customer service, they responded back to us quickly. They shipped the part to our shop quicker than expected.
It was a drive from Atlanta, but it was worth it. They said they examined the part (electronic board) when I called, and it worked when I installed it (and these parts are rare). Good counter service and a delightful "Junk Yard" cat that greets customers.
Great place that will find what you need no matter if they have it or not they will find it for you if it can be had from any other salvage yard or on the internet. Great friendly people. Great prices as well. You can't go wrong by checking them out.
Will not deal with them anymore. Read the other reviews it tells you all you need to know! Never willing to admit fault, never calls back when said he will and picked up a car that took over 2 months for him to try and fix left there and still messed up! Not counting other motor that was bad. The Vehicle I was talking about before even his people could not fix but tried to say it was out mechanics. Obviously not!!!!
Employees are rude, terrible customer service, engine I bought was ok.. I am still owed a core but you can keep the money. Use it towards better attitude towards your customers!
Called about some seats. They told us seats were in perfect condition. We told them to verify this because we had to drive 2 hours. We get there and the seats are all torn up. Terrible service and terrible attitudes from these people.
Definitely wouldn't recommend this business. It's a public place but the employees are VERY rude and have a VERY nasty attitude towards customers. Gave me one price on the phone then tried to charge twice the amount when I got there
Be warned - if you buy a part, even though it is warrantied, don't plan on bringing it back. My son bought a part there and no one would install it. He tried to return it - and per salvage yard protocol, they would not give him any of his money back. So, before you buy a part, make sure you want to keep it forever. Don't plan on returning anything. It would be nice if salvage yards were concerned about customer service but that is rare in the industry. No exception with this place - they are more concerned about protocol than customer service or customer satisfaction.
Went in to check on getting a back window for my Dodge Ram last week was told it would be $90 but no one was there to remove the window and I would have to come back. I went back in this morning and was told it would be $110, but it was to cold to take it out today. Not the place to go if you need something right away.
This is an excellent choice for replacement parts for any new, used, forien or domestic vehicle. Body parts can often be purchased with matching paint. I have been a patron of Chattanooga Valley Auto Parts for many years and have always received great service and parts for reasonable prices. This has always been a family owned and operated business.
Very handy place to find used auto parts. We use this place often to find reliable parts to keep our vehicles going. Staff is excellent at helping to find the right parts. If they don't have it they will do their best to find it for you.
(((( BEWARE )))) I don’t recommend this place unless you’re an insurance company or have a lot of money to spend there!! An example, I called to check on a fender for my van the owner said he had it and was in great shape just had some stickers on it so I rushed over after work to take a look. When I arrived, I noticed a van out front with some stickers and numbers on it and I thought that must be it. Looks great but when I walked in and asked about the fender he said the one he wanted to sell me was out back. I looked at it with one of his employees and it was in rough shape, paint was cracked and a lot of scratches from someone trying to remove decals. It also had a bad crease in the front so I and one of his employees asked about the other van out front that had a blown engine. He started shaking his head saying no no and made the comment do you know how much money I can get off that front end! I asked again if he would sell me, a cash paying costumer, the fender of that one? He said no and never really gave me a reason. I would have paid him more money. I think their really in business for the insurance company’s and body shops. They really don’t care about us small guys!!
I needed a "bracket" (2 screws and 10min to take it out) and the young rude lady told me it would be $50 because the "time consuming" or $25 if I bring my tools and pull it out myself. You can't tell that to a Shop-owner Customer. According to her "The Boss" told her to do that. If it's true I will be very concern about coming back to this place.
$50 for a bracket is nonsense.
I got a good deal on an automatic transmission for my van here. They did the swap and gave me a three month in house warranty on the parts and labor. My van was ready when they said it would be and I haven't had any issues with it this week. I am happy I found them and will be using Chattanooga Valley Salvage and Used Cars in the future.
All I wanted was some broken glass from a car window for an art piece I'm working on, and the lady at the counter treated me like I was a fool. Talking all about how I can't have any unless I have a heat gun to get it out because it's still hard to get out even though it's broken. I've done it before, I know that is not true, all you have to do is throw a big rock at it or something and it'll come right out. She even wanted to charge me! However she did refer me to an auto body shop and they were very kind. They even gave me an intact window, and of course it was super easy to break.
Promised me a 30 day warranty on an air conditioner. 90 days if I replaced certain parts. Would not honor the 30 day warranty.. Bought the part on Friday, took it back the same Monday. Would not exchange. So not only am I out $40 for a can of Freon, I'm out $100 for an air conditioner that is no good. Do not buy from here"
