What a great place! Beautiful pieces, finished & unfinished. Knowledgeable & friendly staff. We were looking for wood for shelving above a bar in our home & found what we wanted here! Bring your measurements, they will cut the wood for you on the premises.
Wow. Just wow. If you are a wood worker, this place is a must for you. I have been coming here for years, and I never tire of smelling and looking at the domestic and international wood. The prices are great, but what sets The Wood Yard apart from other vendors is the staff and exceptional customer service. I highly recommend The Wood Yard.
Very cool place tucked in Concord, GA, just outside of Zebulon. Lots of exotic, expensive types of wood, as well as very reasonably priced domestic types. Friendly, helpful, and quite knowledgeable employees. This is our second visit and we'll definitely be back!
Had an awesome experience at this lumber yard! They offer a wide variety of specialty wood, and the customer service is top-notch, and I mean that. These guys go above and beyond to help each person that walks in the warehouse. The historic building adds charm to the whole visit. If you're looking for quality lumber and great service, this place is a must-see.
My husband I stumbled into this awesome wood shop while looking for someone to do a small woodworking job for us. They were easily able to produce exactly what we needed. While wandering through their fabulous workshop full of gorgeous domestic and exotic woods, I fell in love with Black Limba (an African exotic wood). I asked them to make me a table, custom-sized to our dining area. I couldn’t be happier with the finished product. They let me pick it up unfinished and finish it myself with Walrus Oil Furniture Butter (an oil/ wax hybrid product). The wax, which I also purchased from them, was super easy to work with and it gave the table a beautiful soft, subtle sheen, which I love. I’m pairing it with simple chairs which let my table be the star. I highly recommend this sterling small business!

I wanted to add to my review. The new ownership is excellent and you can easily determine costs either way the multiple price listings posted all over.
The wood as always is just excellent. I just uploaded photos of a mandolin stand made from some sapele I chose because it had great potential chatoyance. It sure did. I will add another shot of the stand to this review.
This place is well worth the drive. Their wood selection is terrific, prices are good, and the staff are amazing. We always enjoy coming here.

These guys are awesome to deal with. Wonderful selection and top notch service. Don't know where else you'll find exotics in stock especially on the southside but I'm also not looking anymore, I know where I'll take my business from now on.
Today was my first time ever in a real lumber yard. The experience was AMAZING! I was rather intimidated when I first got there and didn’t really know where to begin, but the owner, Rick, quickly came out, greeted me, and showed me around the entire property. He explained their services, showed me the tools and machines they have available to customize your sizes and wood for you if necessary, and he checked on me during my time there, to see if I was finding everything okay. EVERYONE was so friendly! I got to meet the City Mayor while there too! The other, frequent customers were very helpful as well and they were great company with great stories. I think I’ve fallen in love with a wood shop and I’m not ashamed of that! Needless to say, I will be going back! Thanks for the amazing experience and if I could give 100 stars ⭐️ I would.
Friendliest place around! My wife and I found the live edge table top we wanted along with another beautiful piece for a coffee table. Fair prices, great help, and zero pressure to buy. We had a fine country lunch at a clean, nice diner next door and didn't want to leave the town of Concord. Wish we lived there. True Southern hospitality like most people in Atlanta only dream of!
Excellent selection of domestic and exotic wood, with enough stock to build just about anything you want. The staff is incredibly friendly, the showroom is laid out nicely, and the prices are fair. I live 40 plus miles away and make the trip for 90% of my custom builds.
Amazing lumber yard with great speciality wood. If you need nicer plywood than the big box stores, such as Walnut or Cedar, go to this mill. They also have an amazing selection of large live edge table tops.
The selection and prices are great. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I got exactly what I needed. My wife oohed and ahhed over the beautiful exotic woods. I only got domestic woods, but the window shopping was fun. Maybe someday...
Great business! If you are looking for just about any type of wood, domestic or foreign wood, most likely they will have what you need! Good honest people that love to serve. They are very knowledgeable.....
Great selection and knowledge of species. I saw a couple of slabs in other reviewers' pictures that I have since bought and turned into furniture. The pine slab and walnut behind it is now a kitchen table and chairs in my cabin in Blue Ridge, and the big cedar slab is a mid century style dining table.
My husband has been buying from them for years, and this is the first time I came with him. It's a 2-hour drive, but it's so worth it! It was a beautiful drive, quaint town. Their building is really cool. They are all friendly, and the wood is gorgeous. So many amazing types we'd never seen before! And they give fair prices. The Concord Cafe next door is also a convenient treat that adds to the trip.
Best selection and best price on ANY kind if wood you can imagine! Including some you have never heard of!!! Very nice people running the place. I only spend a few dollars (I buy from the bargain bin!) but they treat me like I spent a few thousand dollars
5 stars is an understatement. These guys are some of the nicest and most helpful people I've met. I'm new to woodworking and they have always helped me in any way possible. Every piece of lumber I've purchased here has been a dream to work, and everything else I've purchased elsewhere left me asking "WHY didn't I just go to the Woodyard???"
I was looking for a wood slab that I could use to build a desk. After a very helpful and informative call, I made the drive from Atlanta and found exactly what I was looking for! I ended up with a beautiful piece of cedar, with swirls like Jupiter. The staff here is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. Whenever I'm ready for another woodworking project, I'll definitely be back!
Staff is extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and patient. I'm a new woodworker and they were very accommodating to questions and gave suggestions to not only make my project look so much better, but also suggesting different species of wood to accomplish it at a more affordable price point without sacrificing quality, while considering my limited tools and beginner level skillset.
