I've been here several times and the two women that work the office are always polite friendly and fast. As far as the other employees go ive always gotten fast service and they even clean out my trailor.
ok place. staff are friendly. they don't have enough employees to keep the place open from 12 to 1 . then tried to tell me that it was a law to close 1 hr for lunch . I call bs no law . just say that you are under staffed and the owner is to cheap to hire someone. I personally only use them when I don't have time to go to macon County recycling
US Recycling is a fantastic metal recycler. They are always friendly and happy to help you determine which items can fetch a better price on the small scale (such as aluminum), and during one trip, I punctured a tire and they assisted me in repairing it quickly and helped me avoid having to go to a repair shop. I've always felt that they were fair and are usually willing to help unload heavier items, which I've found some other scrap yards won't do.
Let me tell you guys one thing, these folks up here are some of the nicest people I did ever meet. Never not one problem from them and the prices are always fair. I recommend US recycling over all others. Don't listen to the other negative reviews, its more than likely people who were not familiar with how the business works and runs. Or they are just mad because they didn't do the research before they went.
Everytime I go there the staff is always very friendly and very helpful. I don't understand why there are bad reviews on here I've been doing business with them off and on for about 7 years. If you go expect to have to wait because there are so many people coming to bring scrap metal. Get there early I try to get there before 4:30 because that's when they stop letting people in the gate. They are closed on Saturdays this has been going on before I started doing business with them. They take their lunch break around 12:30 be patient it usually lasts around an hour. If you aren't sure what items they take call them.
Worst place we have ever been to!! I wish I would've read all the bad reviews on Google before we came here to do business! They treat you like a criminal then rip you off!! They are the criminals! We asked for our scrap back and they wanted to call the police! DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS! They need to get shut down!!
I've gone to this scrap yard for years on and off when I have had big loads.
The company I worked for, for the past 5 months or so, uses them on a regular basis. As the new driver I had gotten a whole new perspective from this place. At first I did have to deal with a bit of an attitude from one of them. And the other got real mad when I pulled the truck and trailer into the gate and was blocked in by someone else. It was about 1:10-1:15. They should have been back from lunch. She came up to my truck holding the do not enter sign that was on the gate. I appolgiesed and explained I pulled in because the guy in front of me was there. I thought maybe they just didn't open the other gate yet.
Another bad remark I have is when the place is fully packed and it's people like me. Fully loaded truck beds and trailers. But the crane operator is too busy to get to us for 30 minutes to an hour while he trusts to pack the big rig full of scrap blocks. Then ends up over filling it and makes me wait another 20-45 minutes while he unloads some of them because he once again... Has packed too much into it.
It's rather annoying to be there for as long as I end up there.
However, given those situations it's still an alright place. They have their own prices.... But if I was that concerned about how much I got for scrap metal. I'd drive to Macon or Atlanta to scrap. Maybe fortvally. Any bussnise has its falls in this arena. I still see no reason to say they are sneaky or try to rip me off. I look at the sheet, I see their prices. I have no complaints other than the wait from the Mexicans. These gales know what they are doing and have done their best to improve the yard and make it more efficient than it used to be. Good job!
Honestly I have no idea how this place stays in business. The hours just must be a suggestion in case they feel like showing up. Have tried multiple times in the past two weeks and no one answers and when u ride by the gates are closed. Seriously if you're going to run a business, RUN IT! Never ever go here, drive the extra miles up to Newell Recycling on Broadway in Macon. Fast, professional and all around nice people.
This place is horrible. The website says open from 8 till 4:30, but actually its 8 till 12 then back from lunch at 1:10 till 4:30 apparently. The employees are very rude. Enough so after weighing in and pulling around, I just left. I was tired of being bullied around and hollered at. This is not my first bad experience here, but you can bet it's my last. They don't deserve the one star everyone gives them to be able to post.
The employees are rude and unprofessional. They look to rip you off, and will not take the recycled materials that they say they will take. They won't take cables, because of all the work they would have to do. Never will go back.
