I have to give credit where credit is due. I was traveling from New Jersey to Florida and my transmission blew in Georgia. Luckily I had my truck towed to Emmett Head. They had an exact fit sitting on their shelf. They completed the transmission swap in about 4 hours and I was back on the road. I completed my trip to Florida and then drove back to New Jersey. This incident happened in October of 2020. It is now May of 2025 and I’m am still driving the truck with the same transmission that Emmett Head installed.
I forgot to leave a review when it happened but I just found the receipt in my glove box and reminded me that they should be recognized for their outstanding work. I would highly recommend Emmett Head and I would go to them again if I ever break down in Georgia. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I bought a motor from him and picked my car up on the 31st of March and on the 14th of April the car ran hot and he told me I blew a head gasket. How and I did not have the car back not even for a full 30 days and he (Jack) refuse to honor my warranty for the motor.I will never use them again and then the mechanic says he does not deal with head gaskets but the new motor had head gaskets attached to it so what was they just not installed correctly?If I could give them a zero I would.
One of the most disorganized places I ever dealt with. The girl at the front counter is always half asleep so when she says they call you back if they have the part , it never happens Jack the owner is most arrogant person out there. Will definitely never buy anything from them again.
I purchased an engine for my Mazda 3 on 4/2/2024 it was supposed to be a grade A meaning works great and has less than a hundred thousand miles, the engine I ended up with won't rotate more than 90 degrees and the coil boot are covered in oil and coolant, spark plus were also very worn and not original. And engine with less than 90.000 miles shouldn't look like that.
With that being said and this comment is an update may 2024, the engine is fine after all and my problem was a bent flywheel that came with engine preventing it from rotating.
Live in Gray which is about 45 min from where they are located. Called Thursday afternoon around 3 to see if they had 2 parts i needed for a vehicle i was fixing, front fender and hood. Was told by a woman who answered the phone they had 2 vehicles that had both parts on it. I got up early and drove the 45min got there at 9am. Was told by the guy in thr office that they had crushed the cars and no longer had any parts. The man was very rude and suggested we go to RandR in Warner Robins. We went there and found both parts great customer service and even matching color on the parts. Only good thing about Emmett Head was them recommending someone else.
They did have the bumper I needed but the wrong color I could have had it painted but I didn’t want to go through all that I was hoping to find the exact color match but they were very friendly also did not have a person on hand to take the bumper off the car at the moment I was requesting
I just placed a call to search for a driveshaft for my Lexus and even though they did not have it available, the young lady did let me know of other places that weren't in my local area, gave pricings and was very patient in doing so……customer service definitely on point and I appreciate her! I will keep them in mind for future services and will spread the word of their business! Thank you

Went in to get a part . Walked all over the yard no help. Found the part after 1 hour . Went to say we found it do we get the part of or do they? Was told nope they were all just deciding to close early.
Don't waste your time going there,Called and ask about a part they said the part was there after driving 45 minutes to this place the past wasn't available .Not only that had a hard time getting my money refunded back to my credit card.The lady at the front just told bold face lies all around ,The guy next to her was more knowledgeable and friendlier than her just one bad experience just avoid going here unless you have time just to waste and nothing else to do.
this place is awesome. my vehicle was hit in a parking lot which jammed my drivers side door and broke the handle. contacted them and bought that door the next day, and 3 days later called them up and they made a deal for me on the other 3 doors to the vehicle. staff was awesome and very helpful.
Great price and service. Only thing bad about this place is the parking lot but i can overlook that at a salvage joint. Got me in a coil pack for $26, and comes with a 30 day warranty (it's a 'no refund' kinda place, but I would def take store credit with these fine folks)
Not friendly, I had a blown out tire and came with the wrecker and they acted like they didn't want to help. Left and went to Firestone. Customer service means more than saving a pennys....
If I could rate 0/5, I would. I understand I called 30 minutes before they closed, but I ran into an emergency situation with my car that required a part they had. I was on my way to pick the part up and they wouldn't pull it. Lost my business for good, never using or recommending Emmett Head again.
Called and was looking for two parts. First call no answer, second call they answered. Can't remember who I talked to but was very nice, friendly and recommended a place in Macon that might have the parts.
Jack and his staff provide parts and mechanical repair at a fair and reasonable price. While they usually are busy, and sometimes not great for returning calls, they do honor their quotes, commitments and their word. Went above and beyond in an '96 civic engine replacement years ago to make things right by me on a leaking oil gasket. Also had a clutch replaced in a '05 civic, and the job reasonably priced and done well. I recommend Emmett Head if you want good value and a good mechanic. If you want to overpay for car-service so you can have a fancy waiting area or showroom, look elsewhere.
the owner is an a**. EVERY TIME I GO IN THE STORE HE HAS AN ATTITUDE LIKE A TEENAGE GIRL. dont go here unless its your last resort. if i could rate less than a star i would.
This salvage shop has been around for as long as I can remember. My dad used to do business with them back in the 60's. They built this business on their reputation. If they say they have it...they do. If they say it's in workable condition... it is. Their prices are a bit steep... but so is their level of service. Kudos to them.. great business.
