We have been recycling and bringing our trash since they opened. The ladies are always nice and friendly. They do a good job keeping the recycling from being contaminated with the wrong items.

Been going here for 8 years, the past 6 months has been not pleasant with the new "Trash Kan Karen" , Harassing me over 2 bags Trash? - Not a way to run a business. Bring back the Old Nice Lady !!!!

Since years I brought metal cans, steel and aluminum, as well as glass to this location. I am from Buford, but on my way to Johns Creek, once every month. This was very convenient. But recently I was aggressively accosted by one of their guys, who apparently understands nothing about recycling (he wanted to throw my alu cans into the steel metal container). And: "You are from Gwinnett? We will check license numbers, you are off limits here!" (Citation, court appearance and a fine will follow, I am certain). Given the fact that a) recycling should be as easy as possible, and b) that United Recycling in Cumming PAYS for metal and alu (I never brought trash) thus shows how stupid their regulation is. Our trash bin is now a lot fuller, every week. And I don't have to pay a fine for 'illegal recycling'! Can it get any dumber?

Rude and unfriendly. Lady always yelling at people every time I come there and from reading the reviews this is a on going situation. Now talking about it’s for Forsyth county people only. I’ve been coming there 5 years since I’ve live in Forsyth and Gwinnett.

Great selection. Not the run of the mill designs and manufacturers. So pleased with the support the team provided in making our selection!!

Love this service the county provides! Other counties don't have what we have in Forsyth, we are blessed. Tolbert is the only location that takes electronics but at least we have options. Cardboard, paper, glass, plastics, steel, even household trash, they take almost anything. The people who work here have ALWAYS been kind and helpful. I've been going to the Old Atlanta location for, I think, 13 yrs at least. Anyone who says they are "mean" or "rude", maybe you should try working there for a day or two. I dare say I've seen a lot myself when I've visited, I'm sure they've seen everything and some. I always ask when I'm unsure and b4 putting anything in any bin if I don't know. In 13 or so yrs, I've never been yelled at or scolded. Matter of fact, usually I get a helping hand from the staff, and have even received and given help from and to other customers. Love the staff and the service that Forsyth County provides! Appreciate y'all!

I went there today. This place no longer accepts electronic devices as of Feb, 2024.

Screamed at by a red haired older woman. They allow this person to work for (an otherwise) friendly county service? I took my recycling and left.

Woman who greeted us was very nice and helpful. Very clean and all dumpsters clearly marked

Nice, well-run, and convenient. We use this location frequently to dispose of excess recycling materials as well as household trash when we will be out of town and miss our regular neighborhood curbside pickup day.

It's convenient but just about every time I go in there the lady yells at me about something. Today some of my cardboard was more than 30 in wide and she wouldn't lend me anything to cut it down because I might walk off with it. So instead the cardboard came back home to go out with the trash. We're all going out of our way to recycle, try being nice for a change?

Overall good spot however they charge a lot to take paint. They also charge you to drop off small batteries?! Who knew? For paint they charge per can; $3 for a gallon size can and all small ones $1/can, more for larger than a gallon. FYI I assumed as it’s great for our community and the environment they didn’t charge but I was wrong. So TIP: dump all your small cans into gallon ones and combine all gallons one to fill them to the brim. I rated it two stars just because the paint employee was very rude!

One of the best places in Forsyth County to do community service. Mike and Kevin are some of the most awesome people you can do work for!!

Was dropping off large cardboard boxes today. I made a mistake and had styrofoam in one of them. As I dropped the box, a lady came out of the office screaming “take it out, take it out”. Ok, so I leaned way down in the bin and was just reaching the box when she arrived next to me still yelling. As I pulled the box out, I asked what I had done wrong, she yelled, “cardboard only. Bag up the styrofoam and pay for it as household or take it home.” I said I would take it home. She pointed to a sign that said “cardboard only”. Then she yelled at me again as she read the sign. Not once did I raise my voice or act defiant. Her tone never dropped below a scream. I made an honest mistake and quickly corrected it. This rudeness is uncalled for. I expect at least a slight bit of professionalism from County employees.

It's a well maintained place with easy drive through facility for dropping of recyclable products like old clothes, books, papers, cardboard box, paints, cans, glass bottles(segregated by color- white, brown, green), plastics, used cooking oil, etc and household trash.

I tried to take some cardboard boxes to them to recycle to help the environment and the owner told me to take them to a landfill. I guess all recycling centers don't do their part.

It was a quick and easy experience. You drive through, read the signs, and place things in their respective bins.

Very well organized and clean. Staff is very pleasant and helpful. The only suggestion is better street signage. It is located right next to a fire station and the entrance is via a road that circles behind the station.

This is another great service provided by Forsyth County. Now that pretty much all of the private trash companies refuse to accept glass for recycling, this is pretty much the only option other than throwing it in a landfill. Forsyth County accepts all glass for recycling, free of charge, along with a number of other recyclable items. I have taken them large metal items, including grills and lawn mowers that they allow in the mixed metal recycling...for free. They do charge for some items, like paint and regular garbage, but the fee is nominal. I also change my own motor oil and can drop off the waste oil and filters here for no charge. Forsyth County is awesome.
