I brought my car in with transmission issues, hoping for a proper diagnosis and repair. After leaving it with the shop, I was told they would take a look and get back to me. Days went by with no real communication, and when I finally got my car back the transmission was still acting up, and actually noticed quite a big scratch mark on my transmission pan like if they dropped it. Just wasted time. I could’ve gone elsewhere and had this resolved by now. Extremely unprofessional and frustrating experience. If you value your time and want real service, I suggest looking for a more reliable and honest shop.
I want to thank the team at RC Transmissions for completing the rebuild of my transmission. I got my car back in the same week. Payment options were allowed and the professionalism and courtesy of this company is top tier. I strongly recommend this company to give you fair and honest options. My automatic transmission was slipping in my 09 Jeep Wrangler 4x4 back in July 2024. As this is my daily driver I had no time for scams or delays with this repair. RC transmissions gave me the best quote by far, but what about quality and timing etc.? I had never heard of these guys before so I was very sceptical. I was fortunate enough to bump into the owner (Perry) on my second visit to the shop ( I was really trying to do my due diligence). Perry answered all of my questions relating to the business, asurred me that I was in good hands, and asked me personally for my business. We shook hands and I left him with the vehicle. In the end I found him to be a man of his word. The rebuild was done in about a week, faster than anyone else told me they could get to it, and 6 months later I am happy to report no leaks, or transmission issues whatsoever. I took my time before writing this review to make sure that nothing broke before I said anything. I would recommend this establishment to anyone having transmission issues, as my experience was overwhelmingly a positive one. Thanks Perry!
After a summer of looking for a place to take my daughter Jeep Wrangler for transmission service and get some honest and positive feedback RC Transmission is one that I will surely come back to when and if needed these guys I can put my trust in when it needing auto service done. RC Transmission took really good care of me and my Buick Regals Transmission installation. Referred me to a low cost tow service in my area. He helped with the extras and did not over charge me.
I was ready to sell my 2016 Tahoe due to the quotes I received from other repair shops. I couldn’t see myself paying those prices. Then I called RC and couldn’t believe the extremely reasonable quote I received from them. RC even sent a wrecker to pick up my vehicle. I’m a do-it-yourself guy when it comes to repairing and maintaining my vehicles, mainly because I’ve had bad experiences with multiple auto dealerships trying to scam me. However, rebuilding transmissions is a big task that I prefer to leave to the professionals. When the 6-speed GM 6L80 automatic transmission in my eleventh-generation Chevy Suburban started falling apart, a friend recommended RC Transmission to me.
I visited RC Transmission on a Friday and met Perry, who was extremely professional and courteous. One of their technicians test-drove my vehicle and they determined that the transmission needed an overhaul, to which I agreed. Perry showed me a parts catalog and explained the parts that typically fail, their rebuilding process, and their awesome warranty specifics. When I asked about the possibility of using upgraded parts for components prone to early failure, he pointed out the updated piston kit and the updated hardened 345 drum. I agreed to these upgrades at a reasonable additional cost. Perry answered all my curious questions satisfactorily and enthusiastically!
I was scheduled to bring my vehicle in at 9:00 AM on Monday, but I arrived a bit late, around 10:00 AM. Despite this, Perry hoped to have the job done the same day. Although it wasn't ready by 4:00 PM as initially hoped, he called me a little after 2:00 PM the next day to let me know it was ready. That was super quick! Their efficiency is impressive, and I highly doubt most other shops could match it.
When I picked up my vehicle, they showed me the worn-out clutches for the higher gears (5 and 6), which were completely shot. Now, after driving 2,500 miles over four weeks, the transmission is working perfectly. It feels like it did when it was new—smooth, responsive, and reliable. I'm very impressed that I haven't had to go back to them for any complaints, which is common when transmission rebuilds are done.

Picked up my today 8/06/24, and I know for a fact that it rides twice as better than when I bought it , this shop must be the transmission whisperers , no joke awesome job... My experience with RC Transmission was absolutely amazing! These guys went above and beyond going out of their way to tow my car to their shop.. for free! Once in their shop they had a break down on what was wrong and let me know how long it would take to fix it. The process and experience was one of the best from an automotive shop I’ve ever had and I would highly recommend Perry and his guys to anyone!
Researching and calling around numerous shops for my Silverado transmission issue. Then I spoke to Perry and his knowledge and customer service was phenomenal. Very accommodating. Communication was amazing. Seems like the prices around. And with few days later, they got me back on the road. Just as good as it was before, if not better!
If there were negative stars I would give that. First off, you have to pay a deposit before work is started. After 4 weeks I road over to see the place. Unorganized is a nice way to put it. My car is MISSING ,NOT EVEN ON THE PROPERTY. When I asked to stop work and let me pick up my car, I was told I need to come in and sign papers refusing the work. So they have my 1K deposit, wont give me my vehicle , this is a nightmare of the highest level. RUN AWAY! DONT BRING A VEHICLE HERE.
I did pick up the car. We donated it to a Veterans Org. I was ripped off 500 as NOTHING was done to the car. The drivers mirror was broke off. I saw many reviews that were negative. Maybe another line of work would suit you better. I hear CNN is hiring Social Justice Warriors. That sounds like a fit for you.
My car recently started having trouble so I was on the lookout for a reasonable shop to go to. I was under the assumption that my transmission was bad so I started getting quotes from different shops. None of them were reasonable with $4600 being the cheapest I could find. One day while pumping gas at the local BP I happened to look across the street and saw RC Transmission. Gave them a call and took my car in to be checked. Turned out there was nothing wrong with my transmission I just needed a major tune up. I'm so grateful for John and his crew for not trying to get me for a bunch of unneeded repairs. The prices were very reasonable and my car runs great. I'll definitely be bringing my car back here for any future problems should I have any. I'd recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat thanks John and the team you've gained a loyal customer
16 Ford focus with the dual clutch automatic transmission. Usually deemed a death sentence if any piece goes out, they gave me the confidence over the phone that they could fix it and that they did! Dropped it off in the morning and was done before 5pm same day. Now it feels like a brand new car.
Wish I had found RC Transmissions when the transmission in my GMC Acadia first failed. Two months ago, while visiting my aunt in Fitzgerald, GA (3 and a 1/2 hours and 210 miles south of Gwinnett county), the transmission started slipping. I was forced to leave the truck there. I made calls to the nearest GMC dealer, Jeff Fender in Tifton, to have the truck towed there. They stated they could replace the transmission, so I towed my Acadia there. Two weeks later they still hadn’t even ran a diagnostic. Another week then I’m told they don’t have a tech that could replace the transmission. So I had to rent a truck and trailer, drive down and pick the truck up.
I had made arrangements to drop off at Rick Case who told me the same thing that they could replace the transmission for $6500. I drop the truck off, get a call that the transmission would be $9800 plus tax. Oh, and they charged me $229 just to tell me my transmission needed to be replaced. I find RC Transmissions and they tow the truck from Rick Case for free. They rebuilt my transmission and find that the radiator was leaking water into the transmission, which I don’t think would have been discovered if it was only replaced and not rebuilt. Two weeks after dropping off, I have the truck back and it is running as good as it did when I first bought it. If I had found them sooner I could have saved hundreds of dollars in towing and diagnostics fees and a month and a half of being without my truck.
I highly recommend RC if you are having problems with your transmission. The price for rebuilding the transmission was a third of the price I was quoted by Rick Case. I worked primarily with John and he kept me abreast of what was going on. I met Perry the owner when I came to pick up and very nice and professional.

Do NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE. The owner Perry and the front desk guy are both VERY rude and communication is terrible. They expect you to tell them when to do their job! My car sat at their shop for over 2 months! My warranty company and myself had to call several times many of those times they didn’t answer the phone and acted like you are bothering them when it’s their job to fix your vehicle. Worst experience ever! They put a terrible motor in my car and have every excuse as to why. After my car sat at their shop for two months I had to take it some place else that fixed it in less than 24 hours. Please read BBB website on shop before taking vehicle here! I most definitely contacted the Better Business Bureau after my experience because what I encountered was ridiculous
They did an amazing job, it was quick too! My transmission is so responsive now, it feels like new, I’ll for sure be back here if I need any future work done on any of my cars. Thank you guys!!
I had such an amazing experience with this company!!!! They were communicative, and got my vehicle back up and running with a rebuilt transmission within a matter of days. I cannot say enough good things about this place. They even fixed a sensor on my car. 10 out of 10 I highly recommend.
All I can do is let you know my experience with this company. I've had transmissions replaced in cars in the past and never had the first issue with the work or the time it took, but this was a whole different experience. I chose this location because I had a family member that worked in the area and knew that would help with drop off and pickup. After waiting over a week for the transmission to get to the shop we went to pick the car up. After pulling it into the garage at home for the night we went to take the car out the next day and finding transmission fluid completely covering the floor of the garage. Of course now it is Saturday so nothing can be done because they are closed til Monday. After talking to John on Monday he said I needed to get a tow truck to get the car back down so he could check it out. I refused to pay for a tow truck since this was obviously a problem with his work. It was finally agreed that we would split the tow bill. (I WAS DESPERATE). After a few days in the shop to find and "fix" the leak we were told we could come pick it up. My family member picked it up early the next morning and went to work where the car sat all afternoon, the next day it was driven to work and then back home. The next morning there was transmission fluid all on the garage floor again. Of course we are back to a Saturday and they aren't open, my frantic calls finally were answered by text from John and he informed me he couldn't pay for a tow we needed to drive the car down and he would figure it out on Monday. I did not feel safe damaging the transmission driving it with no or low fluid so I did nothing. Monday he sent someone out to put fluid in and drive the car back to the shop. It appears after several tries it might be fixed, but I wish I had never contacted this place and would never recommend them to any of my friends or family. These past several weeks have been a true nightmare.
when a retired mechanic who needs technical information on a nissan CVT transmission part at the dealership and 2 other transmission specialists you are not welcome with these CVT problems, after hours of waiting and research j found at RC transmission in Duluth the answer to my question in 3 minutes I can only appreciate this service and professionalism.
Recently had to replace the transmission in my 2014 FORD EXPLORER.
Chose RC TRANSMISSION because the said they could complete the job in the next 5- 6 days and the cost was about half the cost the Ford dealer quoted me.
The repair took about 30 days to complete. I felt I had to stay on top of them through the process or it would still be waiting.
When I picked up the vehicle the passenger side carpet had standing water in it.
John, the manager thought the window was accidentally let open during a rain story an offered us $75 off the bill. I took his offer because I needed the vehicle back.
The good news is the vehicle is running very well.
RC also offered a 2 year warranty.
I didn’t like them missing the promised completion date by a month, but I appreciate the vehicle running as it should.
The warranty was also a buying point.
The best thing I could have done was take my car to RC Transmission. The friendly atmosphere is welcoming and Josh is very profession and get results. Tico and Edgar are very knowledgeable and are amazing too.
When my transmission went out I was searching for a good mechanic. It was such a blessing to find RC Transmission because they were not overpriced and they have excellent customer service. I didn't feel like a customer I felt like family. Josh went above and beyond to accommodate me as they worked on my vehicle. He made sure that I had transportation and saw that I receive door to door service getting to the Avis car rental location. To add to that, I had a great experience at RC Transmission because Josh kept the communication lines open and kept me informed on their progress because he was concerned about me getting back on the road again. With out a doubt, RC Transmission is by far the place to go when you need to get your car repaired. they fixed my transmission and now my car runs great. The quality of work is awesome. As a matter of fact, this is the place to go for all your auto repair needs, because they fixed multiple things on my car like the window regulator and the water pump to name a few. Now, my car is running like new. Once again, I highly recommend RC Transmission because the quality of work and customer service is incredible and I want to thank Josh again for going above and beyond and guiding me through this difficult process. Your assistance is wholeheartedly appreciated. I can honestly say from this day forward that I am a customer for life.

Perry and RC Transmission get a 5+ rating in my book. Perry went above and beyond to answer all of my detailed questions. He also took pictures throughout the process of replacing transmission and differential seals, torque convertor, and rear engine main seal in our prized family 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ 4X4.
RC Transmission labor pricing was very competitive. Perry did not charge extra labor costs to replace seals that were accessible by pulling the transmission (which had to be done for the main repair.) The parts cost were close to what I could purchase the parts for myself, not the 2 to 3 times markup of other transmission shops. Lastly, the cost to tow my vehicle 50+ miles was half the cost I found with my own shopping. I contacted three other highly rated, local transmission repair shops. They were not prepared to answer my detailed questions or just did not care. If you have any transmission maintenance or repair needs, I cannot more highly recommend RC Transmission.
