If I Knew Then . . . Many vintage car enthusiasts, rely on parts that are no longer manufactured to provide that finishing touch. That final part which completes their project. This is satisfying to both collectors and drivers alike of earlier autos. However, the search for that rare piece can often be frustrating and time consuming with the usual sources. That is, the few remaining salvage yards that managed to keep some of the old cars away from the crusher. Such places are increasingly rare and not always the best organized. Further still, this hobby can be complicated by those individuals who are hopelessly addicted to the less popular models of autos. In terms of Mopar, the more glamorous are the Chargers, Cudas, (Barracudas), and Darts classified as the, “A, B, and E” body sizes. For these, more parts are available. Not the case with me as I’m hopelessly addicted to the full-sized “C” body members of the Mopar family. This addiction is shared only by a few in the supply chain. The two C’s that have my heart are my: 1968 Plymouth Sport Fury and Dodge Polara 500. Both with console shifts (as compared to column shifts), Fast Top and the Big Blocks. Finding parts is continually challenging even with the Web sources now available. There’s a few reproduction part sources that share my love for the big beautiful gals of the Mopar community, but even with the Web, some of these places can be hard to find and located in an equally obscure parts of the world. Further, there’s a mixed bag of quality when shopping online. It can be a real roll of the dice on what you get which seldom looks like the picture. All these examples and more were my experiences till I found AMS Obsolete in Fairmount GA. This is a group of dedicated Mopar fans as well, so I know they have excellent judgment. Their methodical organization of parts and complete “parts cars” are not like a typical salvage yard. AMS’s layout is more like a compound even with a paved road to the different “parts cars” which are just as methodically organized as their “pulled parts” by category and year. If you don’t want used. Then consider many of their “New Old Stock” (NOS) parts. To the unfamiliar, these are the equivalent to those who collected Star Wars merchandise keeping them in the original packaging. Same concept, but with grown-up toys like a replacement tail-light lens. Still not satisfied? Then, maybe a reproduction part like a pair of Sport Fury fender emblems. This was my first of what will be many purchases. An instrument cluster and the emblems for my Sport Fury. Pricing? My opinion is that they’re very appropriate for the efforts and vision AMS has for keeping these cars relevant. In other words, everyone who had the foresight to keep these parts and cars, deserve every dollar they get. Additionally, I have to consider all the items I discarded which people like AMS kept. Even though I’m a dedicated customer, I can’t shake this thought: “If I knew then . . .”

A complete rip off. Not only did they sell me the wrong fitment part but it doesn't even work to begin with. Mike the owner now ignores refunding my money for his mistaken part that is junk. Do yourself a favor and pass this parts place by you Mopar vehicle restorers. Its a complete waste of time and money.
