Worst place ever , I wouldn’t recommend if you have a serious car issue. They make you feel comfortable on the initial call , over time you can see who they really are.
This is a follow up from my previous review.Gowwn had did some work and charged me $657 bit when I picked up my truck it had the same problem nothing changed. Mr.Rick Gowen the owner contacted me .He was not aware of what had transpired so he offered me 65% of my money back because they did change a part that needed replacing.I thanked Mr

Everyone was exceptionally nice and courteous from the time I walked into the door. The professionalism was top-notch. If I need servicing again I will definitely go to them because they provide quality, honest service in a timely manner.
I needed to replace the catalytic converter and brakes on my 05 Xterra. Service was delivered as expected. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The pricing was affordable. Will definitely be returning for future maintenance appointments.

The people here are kind and very professional they kept me in the loop on the entire process of fixing my truck. They even gave me a ride home and back to the shop when my truck was complete. I will definitely use them again if the need arises.

The go to place for repairs for my vehicles from now on. First time taking my 2017 vw to replace serpentine belt and from getting quote, to booking repair appt was a smooth experience. Got it right the first time considering my bad experience with a couple prior mechanic shops . Very friendly and considerate establishment . Barbra the receptionist , was very understanding and listened carefully to each and every detail regarding my mechanical issues .
After entrusting Gowens with my vehicle , I was contacted a couple hrs later . They clearly explained what my issue was and what it would cost to repair it . I was back on the road the next day and the price was very reasonable . My car runs so much better . I'm very thankful for honest , friendly and reliable service .
I love this auto repair shop! Anytime I have had an issue with my car they have fixed the issue and are the most honest people. Very friendly and honest family owned business. Kristine who works in the office also took the time to go over some extra information for me so that I would be more knowledgeable and Mrs. Barbara is always so sweet and helpful as well!!

I had a great experience with Gowens Automotive! I was in town for just a few days helping my aunt with her car, which needed a diagnosis and repair. When I called, Mrs. Barbara was kind, understanding, and incredibly professional. Even though she let me know they were swamped with cars, she assured me she would do her best to fit us in—and she absolutely delivered.

These guys are awesome starting with the front desk to the professional master mechanics. Very friendly,informative, work is done quickly. They communicate quickly and diagnose the problem and solve it. I will continue to come back when issues happen and recommend them to others.
Took my car in with a transmission issue. They diagnosed a catalytic issue that was causing it. Fortunately, I had many people who told me that couldn’t be the case and to not fix that because it wouldn’t fix a transmission issue. I asked them to probe and after two additional days, four days of evaluation they told me it was a seal that needed to be replaced. It wasn’t the catalytic causing the issue. At this point, I should have realized that they are not able to diagnose the source of a problem correctly. That I truly regret. They charged me $1100 to change a seal in the transmission. That’s what is costs to rebuild a transmission, at that point it had been almost a week and I just needed to get it done, so I paid to do the job.
My car went idle in the middle of the highway and I towed it back to them. All they changed was a $20 fuse and they charged me $330 for their “time”
Less than one week later, I am having the same transmission issues. I called to find out what their warranty is, and they said they can only warranty the seal, not their diagnosis nor the job. I threw away $1000! I need to go elsewhere. They are not transmission savvy and they won’t even work with you on a bad diagnosis.
They will charge you for absolutely anything and do not value repeat customers. I am writing this, because I really wish I would have read a review like this before I went to them. I do not recommend them at all.
We are always satisfied with the service we receive from Gowen’s. They are very professional and don’t keep your vehicle long. They call and tell you what’s wrong and what needs to be done to fix your vehicle before proceeding with any repairs, and you don’t have to worry about being ripped off.
They gave me good good quality work truck running like a dream I replaced the motor I want them to keep up the good work that they doing if you use them they tell you something get it done and only help your car run better thank you for your service
I sent my car to Gowen for repairs ,I spent 9k in repairs with a used motor that I purchased myself the receptionist at the front desk called me back to tell me that I needed to buy more parts.Ever time I got ready to pick my car up this lady would call me again to say something else was wrong with my vehicle. By this time this bill was extremely high I was frustrated and told Gowen do not fix anything else on the vehicle and I was coming to pick my car up after picking my car up on the day of when I left driving down the road the car was not picking up speed , i called Gowen and told the receptionist that the car was not driving right an the car it was not clean on the inside as well as on the outside. I stated to her when I pick the car up and I drove it away the seats was broke the heater did not work and the radio did not come on I had mold inside car items was missing out the trunk my tires went flat all the light came on the dash . The reception said she would check with the mechanic and call me back.I called them back after 2 hrs I asked why did my car look like this and that I am having the car sent back to them to be fixed . I paid for the recker truck twice to have my car repaired,and my car is still not fixed I’ve spent over 8k in rental cars and I want all my money back at this present time I am out of a vehicle and have to borrow money to catch a ride to work. Gowen played games with me and laughed while I was on the phone with them crying. Can someone please help with this . I’m appalled!!!!!!!
I've been to Gowen's several times over the past 12 years. They have always fixed my cars correctly and completed the repairs within 3 days. Last week, that was not the case. I left work to pay the repair bill on my car and went back to pick it up after I got off work. (They were closed by then.) The car wouldn't start. Fortunately, I live 15 minutes away and making another trip to take the key back in the morning and return later to pick up the "starting" car wasn't too much of a problem for me. If I lived in Marietta or Smyrna, I would have been very, very upset that the car would not start. Very upset. They apologized, but I think they could have done a little more......like a discount on the next repair. They own the business so they can do that. That would have been better customer service than just apologizing. I mean, my inconvenience was due to their mistake. They are still a good shop. Their prices are a little under the dealer's........but not by much.
