Been going to this plant for 4 years or so. The company i work for has been using it for more than 20. Recently we've had nothing but issues trying to take loads of scrap aluminum. The first issues came last month when the weigh in clerk decided to argue with me about giving us commercial pricing because we suddenly "didnt have an account" even though we recycle literal tons of metal a year. My boss talked directly to their metal buyer (chris) who agreed to give us the price we wanted, and even assured us that he had talked to the clerks and everything was handled. The initial weigh in took 15-20 minutes because the clerk (reggie) was brand new and pecking at the computer with both pointer fingers, he even made it seem like he was making a brand new account for the company, asking me for evey little bit of information. We finally got unloaded after almost an hour and headed back to the shop for the final load. Well after getting back and pulling up on the scales at 3:32, we're told that they close at 3:30 every day now. WHAT?!?!?!?! This is supposed to be a "professional, commercial" recycling center. Not some fly by night, close whenever we want, screw the customers, shady business. Our last load of 1,400 lbs of scrap aluminum was turned away, and our first load of 1,200 lbs was marked down to a measly .45/lb At this point. I would rather drive an extra 20 minutes to get a reasonable price on scrap. This company does not care about the people using their service. Only about the different ways they can screw the customer and find whatever reason to give as little money as physically possible... below is an attached image of the scrap that won't be coming to this center anymore. CMC used to be a really good business, but sad to say its fallen into the hands of people who care only for profit and not the people who BRING IN THE PROFIT.
This is my first time here picking up from this facility and I have to say I would come here anytime all of the people on sight are super nice respectful and friendly. If I could rate it 100 I would. RTL Transport LLC
My son collected a load of aluminum cans and we took them there earlier this year. Very east to deal with and so much so, we coming back again. He is excited!
They have nice and clean break room for drivers. Really appreciate this place have water, Gatorade, fruit can coffee, juices this all for drivers and quick load. Very nice people.
Everyone was very very helpful and it was the easiest experience. They took copper wire, aluminum, steel, and radiators from the demo work on our coach conversion.
I took a load of scrap steel here on Wednesday after reading the reviews, short steel. Took the time to cut into 3ft pc was paid .09per lb. I hauled a load Tuesday to another scrap yard and got .14 per lb. I just returned from the scrap yard again with 3ft steel beams again I got .14 per lb. I questioned the lady at the scales when I got the check about the difference. Reply was we pay .09 I know 5 cents don't seam like a big deal but o. A 4800lb load it's about $240
I wasn't sure where to take my load of computer cases. But everyone there was super nice and helpful. I'm so glad they are here, the business that is. Great business and great people! Keep up the good work!
We appreciate it that they're pleasant even when all you bring is a couple of bags of cans and a few metal mop handles. You don't need a truckload of copper to get good service.
Taken cooper piping there, that came from replacing pipes under my house thinking I could get something back for the metal... I took it to Omni source and the guy looked at it didn’t even say anything really and took it. I didn’t get a dime. Have had other better experiences there before that but that sticks out.
People that complain about the value they got for their scrap need to call in first to find out what the current rates are. As they say, "it is, what it is", and they have no control over that. I have always been happy with their service and they are very helpful with unloading scrap, as some others have said. I did give a 4-star because the process is pretty confusing, unless you've done it a few times. Also, the copper/precious metal area never seems to have enough staff on hand, as there is usually a wait. But it seems like they are trying to fix that as well.
One star necessary. Drove 15 mi. past 2 of their competitors just to give them my business as I have done for years. I get out of my truck and dude shuts their doors on me and says, It's lunch time and walked off!
This single star rating isnt necessarily for CMC Recycling. Thier google places listing states that theu are open on sundays until 4:30pm. So I drove here from Winder (about 30 minutes) with a truck loaded down with a fridge, a large propane grill and so.e other things only to arrive to a locked gate!!!! What a waste of time!!!!
The have the best service. Kind a nuff to help me with my scrap. ... And pays more than the other scrap places charge 3.00 a hundred lbs. .. Y'all are awesome keep up things good work
That is the biggest RIP OFF I have EVER EXPERIENCED!! They ought to run them slap out of the State of Georgia! Go up there with 20 lbs of copper and 30 lbs of scrap metal and they give me a check for $2.11cents. I will NEVER go there again and I. Urge anybody else to stay away! I rate it a negative10!!!
