They towed our vehicle and charged us for a class b vehicle 6000lbs or more (GVWR) when the vehicle was only 5509 GVWR. Will be taking this one to small claims court. Shady business. They also couldn’t clarify if they had used doilies while towing it or not on my AWD vehicle.
Very conscientious tow guy. Communicated well via text and called me after I gave him the wrong address. Even helped me push my old jetta into the mechanic bay after I almost lost my engine but caught it on time thx in part to him giving me a much needed ride!
Volusia County Towing is one of the most predatory towing companies I’ve ever dealt with. If you’re an Uber or DoorDash driver parking briefly in the plaza by Aldi’s on Mason & Nova, watch out—they seem to circle that lot like vultures waiting to snatch cars the second drivers step away. Multiple drivers, myself included, have had vehicles towed while actively working deliveries, parked in spots that appear open and commonly used. It feels less about enforcing rules and more about ambushing working people who are just trying to make a living. There’s little to no grace period, no clear warnings, and zero customer service when you try to ask questions—just attitude and fees. The whole operation comes off as shady, aggressive, and designed to squeeze money out of people who don’t have time to fight back. Instead of protecting property, they’re creating stress and financial harm for gig workers who keep these plazas busy in the first place. Do yourself a favor: avoid that plaza entirely or risk dealing with a towing company that seems far more interested in profit than fairness.
On 1/30/26, i Called the towing service through Allstate at 11:30 pm. First they couldn’t find my account using my name or phone number. Since it was my first time calling, i did not know how to find my account number. So they wanted to collect $159 to get my car towed.
So i went back to the app till i found how to retrieve my account number for towing service. So i called again. The girl scheduled a tow to be between 1:30 to 2 o’clock. So i kept calling Volusia towing to find out the exact time and why they were not coming on time , and the dispatcher only know to say Idk. I called him three time and the last time i called was 2:15 am. Still said idk. He informed me that i needed to leave my key in the car under the mat by drivers side. Or leave my keys in the gas door ( impossible cause u need to go in the car to get that door opened). I said no to both. Then he said to leave my car in neutral. Crazy!
So i went the car didn’t do anything he asked. Just parked it right cause i didn’t want to get it towed by the business there.
They, yess, went and did the pickup at 7 am. Just imagine me waiting for a towing service from 11:30 pm till 7:15 am. Not a good experience. They need to have a better and knowledgeable dispatcher. Also he said he was going to call me back with an answer and never did.
They were able to tow my car without the key and set in Park position not in neutral. I knew they could do it, cause i have being towed before when i was parked in the wrong place.
Driver was professional, polite, and knowledgeable with towing experience. Tow truck was nice and clean inside when I rode to the dealership to drop my vehicle off. I would definitely use this company again.
Trey was my tow truck driver. He showed up quickly and was very professional. Loaded up my 2000 Chevy pickup with no issues. I appreciated his skillful driving and he put my truck right where I wanted in a very narrow drive. Would recommend to anyone
I had an incredibly difficult and frankly heartless experience with Volusia County Towing. Because I have undergone reconstructive surgery on my hip due to three separate fractures—including a broken femur and a stress fracture—walking long distances is extremely difficult for me. I do DoorDash to make a living and currently live in my car, so I parked directly in front of a Pizza Hut with my hazard lights on because the disabled parking was too far for me to walk comfortably.
I was inside for less than two minutes simply picking up an order when someone came in and told me my car was being towed. Despite clearly seeing me limping, they singled out my vehicle and left other cars untouched (attached image).
When I got outside, the tow truck was already leaving, and another Volusia County tow truck was parked in the lot. The driver of the parked tow truck told me I would need to pay $150 cash to get my car back.
After walking for 45 minutes to their lot, the price suddenly changed to $193, which I paid via Zelle to someone named Paul (attached). By that point, I was in severe pain. I believe I dislocated my hip again or that the plates in my hip caused further damage to my femur head. I could not even drive myself afterward and had to park elsewhere just to wait for the pain to subside.
That $193 represents nearly two days of my pay, and the stress and physical damage from this incident mean I will likely be unable to work for another three months while I recover. This was truly one of the most heartless experiences I have ever had. I have seen real conflict and dangerous people before—but nothing comes close to how these people treated me
Service man was great service getting it arranged was TERRIBLE. I would arranging the call and internet “0” Stars don’t think it should lump them together . The internet and telephone couldn’t have been any worse. It’s a good thing my vehicle was in my garage and I was safe . If I had broken down away from my house, I would have been in a terrible position for over 24 hours. Once the driver called that he was 15 -20 minutes from my house He deserved more than 5. Does that say enough?
I've had to have towing and help three times and I've always called Volusia County Towing. Always courteous no matter what time of day I've had to call you. And I've given your card out to quite a few people. I hope it's helped. Bring you more business. You're better than all the other companies! Thank you for your service
I was told the price to retrieve my car was $125 cash at 2am this morning. I later found out that my daughter was quoted $150. When I actually picked my car up, I had to pay $400. They claim the increase was due to the car being in possession for 6 hours. However, this was not verbally communicated, nor was this information posted on their property or website.
This tow yard is in a sketchy neighborhood and there was no way that anyone should be expected to wait outside of their facilities in the middle of the night.
thank you, Volusia County towing for helping me any desperate time of need when my Tessa would not power up. The truck driver was nice enough to give myself a ride home along with my vehicle which I very much appreciate made me feel very safe and put me out of harms way so once again thanks to foolish towing if I remember correctly, thank you Paul will definitely be using flush County towing in the future if needed hopefully won't need but will definitely do so if need be.
They just towed my car for allegedly being double parked and I know that is false and I asked nicely at first for a picture as proof and I would be right down and pay the 150 to get my car. Now I can't tell if it was a man or woman I talked to by the sound of it's voice very harsh and rude. The lines in the parking lot of the complex are invisible at night and almost the same in the day time. I have called 4 times and that simply refuse to send me picture proof and I will only receive a copy of the printed picture with the receipt after I pay and not before and mind you...cash only. If I was double parked a simple text picture with the violation would have made life so simple for all parties but I got yelled at at told I can get the proof after I pay and get a receipt. They can keep it for a while because I know they don't have a picture of my car double parked and I will make them pay for every loss I incur for my vehicle being illegally in their yard.
Volusia County Towing saved us! We were on the last leg of our 1200 mile trip and blew a bearing, lost a wheel, and bent the axel on our sailboat trailer! My roadside assistance sent a different local wrecker and after waiting 3 hours for them to show up, they said they couldn't help us; it was too risky. Then Volusia County Towing was assigned. I explained the situation to the owner, he told me to leave the boat and trailer, to get my family off the highway, and he guaranteed he could get it. He called at 1AM and said "your vehicle has been delivered". They'd dropped it at a retail location as requested. When I met the retail manager the next morning he said he'd watched the delivery on video surveillance and commented that they were very careful and it was "perfect". There was no further damage to the trailer and it was obvious that the driver had cleaned it up a bit. I would recommend Volusia County Towing to anyone looking for fast, competent, reliable towing service - especially for complex jobs...like moving a one wheel trailer with a boat on it!
Had to get a tow after my car broke down. Driver arrived more quickly than originally projected and was very professional and kind. I believe his name was Nick.
Volusia County Towing is the worst service I have ever dealt with. They towed my teenager’s car and gave her one price on the phone, only to raise it the next day when she called back. Then they demanded cash, clearly taking advantage of young drivers who don’t have many options. When I later called to request a receipt—since they promised to email one but never did—the man on the phone cursed at me and threatened to hang up. It’s obvious they pocket cash to avoid reporting it, which is shady and dishonest business. These are terrible practices, and I don’t know how they can operate this way. I will be reporting them.
He was awesome !! Very professional!! I would recommend him highly. I have AARP and he was at my house within 45 minutes and kept me posted on his way to tow my dodge ram .
Don’t let any of the positive reviews fool you. These people have been known STEAL peoples vehicles without any notice, sometimes not bothering to report the tow to the sheriff’s office, in the proper 30 minute period which is required by Volusia County law. They refuse to return vehicles back to their owners without having to pay an arm and a leg. They’re dishonest about their price quotes, often adding on extra fees when you show up. They only take cash during these instances which is highly suspicious… and makes me think this is a regular thing. They’re also extremely disrespectful towards others, often yelling at the customers who did nothing to deserve being towed (or for the tiniest infraction that police wouldn’t even care about), and on top of that, they block people when they get annoyed that you’re persistent in getting your vehicle back. Quite frankly, this is disgusting behaviour, and should not be tolerated. The fact that the owner replies defensively to any negative review, should be enough for anyone to realise the unethical business practices. This business has an F on the BBB, nobody with sense would call that a successful or reputable business… I’m not a customer, nor do I live in Florida, but all of this is clearly against Florida Statute §715.07. Therefore, they should be investigated by law enforcement. If I could rate this place zero stars, I would!
Dispatcher was extremely rude to me as the customer and to the insurance agent that called concerning the wait time. My tow went from a40 min wait, to a 3hr wait. I understand the system put in a different address, however it was my next door neighbors house but the car to be towed was at the end of my drive way. After they finally came after about 3hrs, the driver stayed that he saw the car but the address wasn't right. I NEVER recieve a phone call from the tow company which could have prevented the long wait. Again, I don't know who the female dispatcher was, but she was EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!.
My car was taken from our residence, at night for an expired tag. My property was aware of the tag. Driver was not helpful WHEN I EX0LAINED I HAD THE PAPERWORK IN THE CAR! He had me meet him in dark by the impound said 194$ cash only and gave no receipt. Recipt was given after I called and spoke with Aaron, who was helpful, I did not choose to Be a customer, I was forced to be. This was my experience with this company that I personally had.
I was stuck at the infield in Daytona and Volusia County towing saved me. It was a little difficult with the billing process, but that is on my insurance companies and . highly recommended would definitely use them. Driver was very very very professional. Thank you very much.
Only downside was the wait. Was told 60min eta when I them . After 120min I had to call again and ask for the eta and that's when a driver was finally sent . Got there within 15min after finally being sent so not tows guys fault. Just took two hours for them to dispatch the truck out.

These people are money hungry and will literally tow your car for something that is utterly ridiculous. I have vision problems at night sometimes and I had parked on a white line just a little bit but not to the point where I was taking up an entire parking spot. I emailed a man named Ellen or Allen and he was so rude unhelpful and just money hungry. I had to explain to him that my video footage literally shows me parking correctly in my parking spot just a little bit over the white line as the parking lot was full at the time, and I had to squeeze in there. At 3am a lot of people left; he didn't care to understand. These people don't care if you got kids they don't care if your hurting just about making money; that evil inhumane type people in the world. I be seeing people parking backwards in parking spots worse than what I did, and no one ever comes to take their car but one night I come and I parked a little bit on a white line innocently and boom, ive been a resident here for 5 years this never happened to me. I posted these photos so that people don't feel alone like you going crazy you didn't do nothing wrong unless you literally taking a whole parking spot or park backwards that makes sense you know. Nontheless, these people are evil and just trying to make money so beware and God Bless.
Today I was harassed by an employee at the lot with children in my car. NOWHERE does this business have signs saying do not enter or even have a spot for customers to park. It just says call for service. The gate was wide open, so I went to pull in since my friends car was right at the entrance still on the truck with the employee. The guy shut the gate on my car, it got stuck on my car and then when I approached him about it he told me "I should have known better". I asked to see the cameras he said they have and he refused. I asked for his managers contact info and he refused. Couldn't even get his name.
This place is trash. They harass people for no reason other than they clearly have a miserable job and the whole time did it with a cigarette in his mouth and holes in his shorts. If you ever have to come here, dont try to be friendly or step on the property because the police won't do anything either.
