I'm doing a review to ask a question because I'm driving from Brevard county where unfortunately no one is opened on Sundays. Do y'all take copper wire. I'm an electrician and have alot of scrap.
I have been going for years!! Other than getting screws screws and nails in my tires, great price and good hard working people! Just like anywhere else, Unless you're rude or disrespectful, you will get great service!
The girl in the office thought excruded aluminum to be sheet aluminum. So I caught it and when she "fixed" it to changed it to excruded the price was only 40 cents a pound for excruded! So for the 60 pounds I had I only got $24! Better that the $14 she tried to give me at first! Don't go here it's a Mickey mouse operation and they rip you off with a girl who has no knowledge of prices or metal!
This place will rob you!! The woman in the window was rude and sarcastic. The payout they quoted was dramatically lower (I weighed before I got there). Rude and dishonest. Would not recommend
It's about as easy as it gets to scrap appliances or random steel. I go here often and the prices are fair. In fact just recently I scrapped near Orlando and got .03 per pound and here I received .06 per pound the same week. They also buy aluminum, but prefer 100lb. Minimum
Used to take all types of metal, now only sells you steel prices, yes they will take everything else but you only get steel prices.. As you dump what you have they have people that will rummage through and take want can be stripped apart for brass, aluminum, copper, pc parts etc. Went from a 5 to a 1 star.. Best to go now to Florida Recycling off S. Florida Ave for a deal on everything other than steel.
Well first off their scale is fixed my truck empty weights 3260 lbs yet their scale said empty I wieghed out at 3560 and on top of that their prices are no longer competitive everywhere else is paying 9 dollars and up on steel they are only paying 7.55 do yourself a favor and save your gas don't do biz with these crooks!!!!!
Been going to this yard for years now and have been very happy with all the different aspects that come into play when you go to the scrap yard. Usually very quick in and out they no longer take non-ferrous metals so it is a 10in steel only situation which only speeds up the process. Generally nice prices and good service so if you have some young this is the place to go. Also they are open seven days a week and they only closed for a few major holidays so you never get stuck with a load of junk in your truck for any extended periods of time
Been here many times and have always gotten good deals the staff has always been awesome me and my friends I scrap with drive all the way here to y'all rather then go to our local yard here in Daytona. Plus being up on sundays had us sold who we where taking our business to.also we just made it buy closing time and when we were a little past some of the stuff members new us and how far we drove they would let us in ..thanks guys keep up the good work and thanks for having a hard that's big enough to move around in your vehicle and trailer.
Used to love this place the staff was nice came back after 3 months. Everything has changed the woman running the office was rude. As well they don't take everything they used to, copper and brass are just an example. They weighed us up for our aluminum on the car scale instead of on the proper scale. Screwed the disable and left us with $2 for 20 lbs of aluminum.
Called today for pricing on various metals. I have done business here a few times before recycling mostly high dollar metals. I have 2,000 lbs of copper, brass, aluminum sheet, barebrite, yellow brass etc. called for pricing on there and was told she can only give me pricing on 3 different metals? I’m a contractor so I scrap often but I will not do business with ignorant businesses with ridiculous policy’s. Poor customer service.
I have been here a few times and have had nothing but great customer service. I even had an employee help me out with some old unusable extension cords so I could get a better price in them. It made a little bit of a difference but it was the customer service that made an even bigger difference. I always recommend this place to friends if they need a place to take scrap or recycling to. I have seen people treat the staff pretty crappy so as far as some of these other reviews are concerned you get what you give in terms of respect and I always treat people how I want to he treated and I have never had an issue with their staff. They are always helpful and friendly and sometimes go the extra mile which counts for a lot. My husband and I will always go here when we need this type of service and will always recommend them to others!
Horrible experience both times I went and will never return ...they emptied my entire truck while telling me they will sort the clean aluminum from the dirty but once it was on the ground told me O it's all dirty...As I started pulling the clean out A guy on the loud speaker screamed not to touch the pile it was now his since it was on the ground. Should of taken my scrap back and punched the dirtbags working there in their dirty faces but instead took the loss and will never return. Even the owner is a idiot....he yells at people walking through the section where you purchase items...people want to spend money but he's too busy yelling at the dirtbags workers or the customers. Save the time go elsewhere!
Most of the time the people here are great but there is one guy that always has a problem we bring in stuff every week never much of an issue but the tall skinny older guy takes off a pound of our cans cause we drug the bag of cans on the ground in front of him and no dirt in the bag at all just the actual dust he took off a whole pound for dirt total stupidity he's the only one that finds some way to deduct off your receipt every time
The fact that they are open on Sunday is a 5 star in my book! Everyone there was helpful and they even helped me sort a few things that I had missed. They were knowledgable and we're more than happy to answer all my questions. Iwill definitely be back. A+ from start to finish.
Ripped me off for almost a pound of copper and brass also paid me for #2 copper when it was clean #1........had them in small containers they kinda handed them back quickly and told the guy 1lb tare without weighing them I get home a little questionable and weighted them to the tune of less than 3oz a piece a whooping 1/4 of a pound.....So I called an they were rude said I had to say something right then so I asked why would youre employees not properly tare out containers......it may sound like a little bit of money but every dollar counts...... if I go back I'll make sure they do not rush me and watch them carefully....You should do the same if you go there.....
Have been taking scrap here for just over four and a half years. When I first started scrapping, I did not know how to sort the different metals, my first load was a total mix. The lady that was working the scales back then pointed out how much more i would make by sorting it out. "was she every right"
I have never had any of the issues that others have mentioned in their reviews. The employees have always been nice and helpful, Everyone just has to remember that you get what you give, Treat people with respect and that is what you will get.
I was in there a few years ago, and someone had messed up and put the steel price in the computer at 99.5 cents per pound instead of 9.95. when I got my pay slip for 1200 pounds and saw what it was, I immediately let the person behind the counter know. The people behind me, and the ones waiting at the cash machine line got upset at me for pointing out the mistake. Honest mistake on their part and I am not out to take advantage of anyone.

First time going to this place. Very unorganized and they would have had me reload all my scrap cause they wanted to give me a low balled offer on ferritic stainless steel because it was "too" magnetic. Definitely gong to make the drive out to tm recycling from now on.
The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about what I could scrap and which dept to take it to. The lady at the front desk was really nice even when I went on the scale backwards. Lol.
I went to drop off cans and mixed metal my son had saved. I was greeted horribly and with an attitude. I was told my scrap had to be "organized" I apologized and was still treated awful. I picked up all I had brought and drove over to another spot where they were more than happy to sort it out quickly. I will never go back
I weighed my #1 copper at home and it weighed 113 lbs. They said it was $2.42 per lbs. That should be $273.46 in my pocket. They only gave me $246 that's only 101 lbs. That's robbery. Also they have a stupid policy about not giving out more than 1 price over the phone. How screwed up are these people. Also Central Florida Recycling is NOT there legal name. So they're advertising under a false name. Pretty fricken shady.
