My car was towed here as a result of an accident where somebody hit me after running a red light. Staff at Richard's was very accommodating and pleasant to deal with in such a difficult time. Both Dustin and Ken were helpful.
OMG. I was stiffed by another towing service and called Richards. Got here quickly. Ken is the drivers name. What a great human being. Took my old car to The Shop, which is also great. I have someone at home who has dementia and Ken was quick to get my car loaded and over to The Shop. Thank you so much Ken. You made my day a little better. Bless you.

I didn't call for service, and I never will. I just got threatened by a big fat guy with a beard telling me to get off his property. First thing, I wasn't even on his property. He stopped right in the middle of the road and shined his big bright floodlight on me and was coming towards me with his huge towing chain, saying that he was going to physically hurt me if I didn't leave. I then stated to him that I would call the police for this. He then turned back towards his truck and stated fine I'll just come back with my gun and make you get off the property. Again, I was not even on or near his stupid towing property. After that, I called the police and when they came, one officer told me that he said I had a knife that I was threatening him with. He freaking completely lied to the police about everything he did and stated that I was the aggressive person. I'm not sure if this guy owns the company or not, but he needs to lose his job or business. This guy doesn't need to deal with people at all. Someone is going to get seriously hurt one day. After seeing all these reviews on him specifically I don't understand how he's still working. I guess it just runs down from the top.
I hope everyone who works here isn't anything like the angry fat man with the beard... He was already pissed off that he had to work on Thanksgiving when he wanted to be stuffing his face... So he immediately takes it out on the driver when he wouldn't have been there if it wasn't for the cops... But he clearly likes to tug on something else for the police, and it's not a car. He needs to get his sausage fingers out of people's faces, take a shower and take some anger management classes. I'm gonna spread that video around like wildfire.
Watch out for this guy apparently he is in Cahoots with the police and they like to steal your car and make you pay, and this brown eye sniffer is making money from people who didn't do anything wrong but talked back to a cop and he didn't like it. BOO HOO.
What a racket this company has going on . People have a fender bender get a call from the police dept . And the car is drivable but the tow guy comes over to the car smelling like grease , cigarettes and bad breath with a piss poor attitude telling us we will just tow your car because he can and we say we will just drive it home . And the big guy says nope I’m towing it and can drop it off around the corner for a $125 cash so there’s no paper trail . Sounds a little fishy to me so I’m calling the IRS in the morning to see what they think about Richards towing of deland company’s taking cash and no reciept or paper trail . . I wonder who there splitting there towing fees with d——d Po—-e De———-t ? Hmmm I wonder ? What a scam . What ever happened to to the honesty and integrity .
Very terrible customer service no home training ! I’m not sure if they are in cahoots with the city police department but both are super rude and not sure what’s the policy on hooking up a car/truck after a accident when the car is movable and trying to charge 125 to have it taken down or if the owner of the car tells you to unhook it and they claim they can’t.
Uneducated bozos work here. They corroborate with police to steal peoples cars, violating individuals rights. Stay away and seek another towing business.
Driver was great. The owner of the company - not so much. I was a bit turned off by his demeanor, and when I questioned some things, well, he didnt respond professionally. He sort of barked back at me.

Went with my friend to pick up her car after it had been towed on a flat. As much as getting towed sucks, the staff were friendly and got us out quickly. They even fixed the flat for us! If we had to get towed, I'm glad it was by them.

Nice scam this local tow company has with the autozone on ISB across from lowes. You go into this autozone and spend money, but don't you dare walk across the street to Dunkin donuts to get a coffee. Because as soon as you leave the property this autozone with have your car towed...EVEN IF YOU ARE A PAYING CUSTOMER. I would not be surprised if the manager is getting some money on side from the towing company, for this obvious scam. word about this is going around.
Towed my teenage daughter's truck from Auto Zone while she ran to Dunkin for a cup of coffee. Was not even loaded when she came out. Told her $55 cash or he was taking it a mile up the road and it would be $125. Left her stranded alone with his business card. Then truck "slipped" off truck at yard and his truck got stuck in the dirt pit of a yard. Then "did not have change for a $20" hoping to gouge some more??? Very poor unsafe practices!!! I do blame my daughter for parking wrong but this is ridiculous.
They steal out of your vehicle i can not stress that enough and than give you a bs reason why Thier not responsible! Either take your valuable out first or call another towing company!!!!!!
Though the driver was polite as was the gentleman that answered the telephone when we called, there is a serious ethical problem in how they do business.
I was stuck on 417 near Red Bug Lake Road. My wife found the number and texted it to me. I called them and spoke to the gentleman at the office. Then I called again to get an ETA. Then the driver arrived and he spent 15 minutes getting my vehicle on the flatbed. Once my vehicle was secured and I was seated in their truck the driver informed me it was CASH ONLY! I said you're kidding right? Nope! He said didn't the man at the office tell you? No one told me. IF they had I would have called someone else. So, my wife had to go to an ATM and meet us at the dealer and pay this man $132.00 CASH!
I am convinced they don't tell you until they have your vehicle secured to their truck so that you're stuck!
They brag about being in business for 30 years! I'm not surprised they have no standing with the Better Business Bureau. I would NOT recommend using them even if you have cash coming out of your pockets.
I thought this kind of baiting was done away with years ago. Guess old habits die hard when you can sleep at night knowing your ethics are non-existent.
