LASTLY - Thanks for reminding us that fairness and decency are optional for you. Lowballing people in tough times must be a special talent. While emotional support wasn’t expected, basic respect and fairness should be. Nobody’s asking for therapy here, just a fair deal. If that’s too much to ask, maybe reconsider how you do business. Lowballing before even seeing the car is unprofessional and reflects poorly on you. Lowballing without looking at the car is disrespectful on its own. Using someone’s tough situation to your advantage? That’s a new low even for you. Lowballing without seeing the car is bad enough, but taking advantage of people in tough times? That’s just unethical. You don’t need to offer support, just basic humanity. Offering a lowball before even seeing the car shows exactly how little respect you have for the situation or the person involved. It is deeply troubling and disappointing to experience such unprofessional and dishonest behavior, particularly during an already difficult time. My encounter with this business, and the owner, was not only marked by poor service but also by a lack of compassion and integrity. This was particularly disheartening as I was already struggling after losing my vehicle and starting from square one. Despite clear communication regarding our location and arrangements, the business failed to follow through on their promises. Initially, we were told they would arrive the next morning and offer $300-$400 for the vehicle. Unfortunately, the car had broken down in front of a home in the middle of nowhere, forcing us to spend the night in our car, a situation that was both unsafe and distressing. When morning came, we waited over an hour and a half for them to to call seeing that we where growing increasingly anxious and desperate. Once they finally called to be on there way, instead of honoring their original promise, they lowballed us with an offer of only $200. This was an insult, considering the circumstances and the ordeal we had endured. Rather than taking responsibility or showing compassion, they were dismissive and failed to acknowledge the hardship they caused. This lack of professionalism and accountability was evident throughout the interaction. Communication was poor, especially during late-night hours when clarity and updates were crucial. I had to repeatedly reach out to them for an ETA, only to be left waiting for hours without proper updates. Additionally, their offer was unreasonably low compared to other companies, reflecting greed and a lack of transparency. Rather than under-promising and over-delivering, they did the exact opposite. Their overall demeanor was dismissive and disrespectful, which speaks volumes about their character and the business they represent. This experience has been both upsetting and disheartening. I hope that by sharing it, others can avoid similar treatment. Businesses must prioritize professionalism, effective communication, and compassion for their clients, especially during difficult times. Dishonesty, poor service, and disregard for others have no place in any industry.
