Lobby leaves you outside standing in sunlight. They don't care a lick about customer comfort since they have a government monopoly. Don't do business with these people if you can avoid it. Also, they don't allow help to clean out the car even if you are 72 and we're in a very serious accident and we're injured.
Don’t use this company if you want to see your car one last time. They only let one person back that is on the title and won’t budge on the policy. Very unhappy.
After reading the reviews & talking with previous customers, I expected to have an awful customer experience here. I needed to retrieve my son's motorcycle and when I called Sabrina told me where to start, what I'd need and the costs. When my sister and I arrived. We were able to pay, get an itemized receipt, see the bike, and receive a slight discount on towing it from the shop all within 15 minutes. However, it did take a few hours for the tow. They are a little pricey, but their fees are posted clearly on the building.
If your car gets towed and impounded here, they will probably damage it. My car was here for three days over the weekend (they aren’t actually open “24/7” like they claim and after paying an astronomical amount to get it out, start driving it home and notice a lot of rubbing, squeaking and wobbling in my steering and turning. Car was fine when it was picked up. They even had my keys. There’s no excuse for letting this happen. They do it because they can get away with it. Borderline extortionists. Update: after the “owner” responded, I called the office and an unpleasant woman basically said i was out of luck, “maybe file a police report.”
Very unprofessional. The lady at the front was rude at times. I was gone pay my full balance but they debit card machine was down and I explained to them that I did not have any cash and it was already close to there closing time. They literally was trying to make me pay for the next day even though it was on them. I had to argue with the lady for over 5 minutes to let them know that’s not on me that on them. After five minutes of going back and fourth she finally said I had to be there the next day by 10 am in order to not pay the next day fee. She was very rude and unprofessional. Would give 0 stars if I could.
If you get into an accident please DO NOT allow law enforcement to call these scammers!!!! They will hit you with so many additional BS fees. Very untrustworthy and unethical. Please don’t fall victim like me!!! Call your own tow company!!!
When in a crisis and your car could be totaled, the office woman was rude, didn't give a crap. Can't go inside out of the heat, and a METAL bench 1 person could sit on and burn their ass. Can't take a friend or a car back by the crashed car to clean out all your stuff. My car was parked by a large pole with about a foot and a half to open your car door to get your stuff out. Pasenger side was parked so close to another car it was difficult to get more stuff out. My Gosh, never would recommend this place to my worst enemy. They need a class on having some class. SMH!!
Joe's had to tow my car from the scene of a crash on Friday. (Black Mustang) I was a bit worried after reading some of these reviews! I went on Monday to get my personal items, my husband went back, because it's a Pinellas county law only one person could go back. I have to say everyone I dealt with was very kind and respectful. I even had to back the next day because my ins co instructed me to remove my tags. Plus the husband forgot my prescription glasses! Again we were treated great. Shout out to Melissa, Emily and Steven! You all took very good take care of us. This is an extremely stressful situation, and I'm glad we had these three people help navigate us through this. Thank you all!!
This place makes everything very hard on customers with a smiles. Made my wife unloaded car they parked in mud and car close on both side. . I was move to of items . Her back still messed up. 1200 they want to get my car out. Now that paperwork in order .. few weeks of games . Gave the car to someone was over it. Have a few cars. The defently like taking people cars and get titles for fees. Crazy. Largo Mayor needs here from it's people get this company of police impound. Sad to kick people that are down . The rudest people you will ever have to deal with. Vehicles get towed here not by choice and then families have to deal with the disgusting rudeness of the staff. They do not care about what you just went through (accident, break down whatever...) all they care about is making sure the vehicle stays there as long as possible to charge you as much as possible when you are able to finally get it out. STAY AWAY! If you get in an accident, make sure to tell the POLICE NOT to call JOES towing. So disappointed.
I own a Wood Cabinet business and our box truck broke down on the interstate and needed a tow back. I called around 4:15 and arranged for a tow. They left their office at 5 and got done by 6:45 and back to there office by 7:15 (port to port). The bill came out to $1575.00. After the fact they stated $450 per hour. I don't know how they do math. I should have asked about there rates, that's on me. They ask for payment but don't give you a receipt until three days later, I had to ask for one for bookkeeping and that's when I found out. This company was referred by Clearwater Towing since they were not able to do it until the next day FYI.

The City of Largo, made the decision on this organization towing my vehicle. I tried to get to the yard, but was unable to get there during their hours of operation. They are not open on the weekends, so I got a 4 day storage fee. Towing and storage fees were the responsibility of my insurance company, once I got the paperwork straightened out with my insurance company, this towing company sent me a certified letter saying I owed them $393.00 to get my car released, I called my insurance company and they took care of it.I
My empoyee was involved in a traffic accident. The city of Largo Police Department forced him to tow his truck to Joe's. Would not allow our tow service it retrieve the vehicle. "because joes is faster". They are only open to retrieve your vehicle from 9am to 5pm Monday though Friday, but thsy will charge you for days they're not open. This company does all the predatory behavior you expect from an impound vulture praying on people that are already in a vulnerable position. I won't even get into the awful customer service, the terrible attitude, the complete lack of an office and waiting in the hot sun for an hour. The most egregious part is being forced to make payment in full before you can see the itemized receipt of what you're paying for. What terrible business ethics, do better.
To start, id give this place at least 4 Stars, because of the woman I spoke to about my sister getting into a VERY BAD AND STRESSFUL ACCIDENT was actual very nice and gave info I needed to get things out of the vehicle. Once my HURT sister got there the trunk was unable to open due to a dead battery, because of the CRASH. It had an AFTERMARKET car audio amplifier in it that was her PERSONAL BELONGINGS and was told she was not able to retrieve it in any way unless "you can take it off the property and blow it up with C4 to get to it.". I understand if they could not touch the vehicle due to insurance reasons, but to tell her she wasn't allowed to retrieve her personal property regardless is wrong.
Rude and inconsiderate! Called a half an hour before closing time, which clearly states they’re open until 6:00, Monday-Friday, and was cut short and the women wouldn't even talk to me. So RUDE! Said they close at 5:00, then why are you answering your phone? CHANGE YOUR WEBSITE THEN!! Not a nice company!
Rude lot worker. Tried giving us an excuse that only my partner can go and pick up things from our vehicle because he’s the only one on the registration. I proceeded to inform him that I was also on the registration, looking befuddled that 2 men could possibly be registered to 1 vehicle he then tried giving me another terrible excuse that only he was allowed because of the paper filled out when we arrived. I then suggested that I could also fill a form out since I too am on the registration, but still no. Will be having our car moved elsewhere and never using this company again. Just the level of rudeness alone was uncalled for. Would highly recommend not using this company for any reason. They will hang up on you and refuse to answer questions over the phone also. Overall terrible experience.
If I could give 0 stars I would. They really need someone to replace Michelle that answers the phone. We needed to be towed, their shop is a 1/4 of a mile from where our breakdown was and our breakdown was directly out of our parking lot so in total the tow was less than a mile. We asked her for a price, she said she would get back us, she did not we were told we would get a bill we did not. Then she charged our card $350.00 when I questioned her she denied we ever asked her how much it was and I heard my DIL ask her. When I said we never got a bill she said she did not have time to send it, well that was almost a week ago. she said "I don't make the prices I just bill you" I asked who does?, she said "research it". Still have not received a bill. SHADY business, stay clear. Honestly if the owner of that business is happy with how she represents them they would not be one I would go to. GREAT way to screw a small business in your neighborhood.
My car was towed by PD to this yard after a car accident and I was NOT looking forward to dealing with the aftermath the next day. This place made it so easy!! The lady at the front desk was very kind and explained what I was signing, but she didn't let me pet the office kitty since they are behind a protection window, so I was super bummed about that. I did not wait long to be taken back to my car to grab my belongings and the interaction with the gentleman who drove me back was a lot of fun! He was engaging and had a great sense of humor with some fun stories. I definitely appreciate the ease with dealing with something that was pretty upsetting.
Not happy! First, asked us for a copy of the car registration; in the glove box. Daughter was in an accident and transported to hospital but released thankfully. She wanted to get her belongs from her car, take pictures for insurance, and say bye to her first car. They would only let my husband go back to get all her stuff out of her first car. She had her nursing kit with computer, all of her lotus and koi decorations, along with full first aid kit and car care stuff. My daughter had her face and arm bandaged, so you know she was in the car. Very uncaring company who just want to charge too much!
They team at Joe’s quickly came out to tow my truck after I was in an accident. Worked with my insurance to take care of the cost. Helped me retrieve my belongings, license plate, and tools when I came to the lot. Highly recommend.
0 stars!! Michelle at the window was super rude and unprofessional, she released the WRONG CAR to me after looking at title to match the vin numbers. How can this major mistake even happen? Lucky I saw it before leaving. Michelle wouldn’t come back to the window after such mistake so another woman with short black hair helped me and was super rude and unprofessional as well. I would NOT recommend this place at ALL, who knows if you will be getting the correct car or not. They didn’t even apologize after their HUGE mistake either.
My car died on me in the middle of a busy Highway Signal the other day. Joe’s towing was called as first available. When the man arrived I never got his name or anything. He was very rude and unprofessional. We were in the midst of traffic and he made smart remarks saying “ you know you’re going to have to get out of the car right?” As we obviously knew this we were waiting until it was safe. He was screaming pricing at us as if we couldn’t understand what he was saying and then he told us he would meet us at the drop off location we requested. As we rushed to Uber home quickly only to find out he wasn’t coming straight to us. I wish he would’ve me communicated that so we didn’t have to Uber. Although, the lady I spoke with on the phone was very helpful and nice, the other staff member was not.
Update: yes car was repaired after sending in pics etc which was fine. The lack.of communication and rudeness sucked to deal with.
Fiance called to.ask.what was going on with the car and the lady that he spoke with said calll the repair place...they should being doing this. Well if we had a call or a reply to the email that stated this and said sorry we damaged your car, we will be paying for repairs but we got nothing. And now this reply to my original post was ..your car was fixed last week.
A three star it is. Could of been better service and communication from the employees at this towing company.
So my car was towed to this place because of an accident so we had no choice as other people have stated. This company cares nothing about the cars that they are towing. We had damage to our car that was not part of the accident and happened after the accident between the time that they picked up the car and they adjuster came there and took pictures of the car and their towing yard. So the review will only be changed once they fix it. If not an update of exactly what happened will be put here because I definitely would say do not send your car here and talking to the collision place. They say that if you have towing insurance to take it straight to a collision place and drop it off there do not take it to a toy yard especially this one because this is how your car gets even more damage and insurance will not pay for it because it's not part of the accident for the accident report.
Well they lost a very expensive key to my vehicle. They drove the vehicle onto the wrecker and the wrecker drove off so they had the key. I had three people turn my vehicle upside down looking for it and they told me I had the key because I drove off with the vehicle in which this was in correct I had to drive all the way home to get my spare and the towed my truck and left it outside the gate with a flat tire for me to pick up. They said they would not pay to replace the main key to my expedition which cost me more money then my car being there. I had to pay $305 to get my car out of their yard and another $320 for a key they lost.
Joes was called by largo PD to tow my car after an accident. I waited almost 25min watching two workers have a conversation before I was helped. I am not the registered owner of the car but I am the owner of the insurance on the car. The lady at the desk refused to let me go back even though I had showed the crash report stating that I was the driver which forced me to keep my car there over Labor Day weekend. This would have cost me almost $120! It didn’t help that the receptionist was horrid with a terrible attitude. I wouldn’t wish doing business with this company on my worst enemy.
Update: they called the cops on my 5’5 mom for saying she was frustrated. She expressed that she was upset to the man in the gulf cart and he threatened to take her back to the front without getting anything. How convenient seeing as the force you to sign that you received your items before you can even go back. Cops were nice though they escorted my mom back with my things with no problems.
I got into a bad car wreck borrowing my moms car 4days ago, Friday evening it hit me like a ton of bricks falling from the sky into the pit of my stomach that I had left my precious wedding ring in the car , $2000 ring their is NO mistaking weither it's real or not the whole weekend I had insane anxiety and everyone taking bets if it's still there or not .. and it was! Completely unharmed and the gentlemen working even moved the car for my mom because it was in a big puddle so she wouldn't get dirty/soaked. I trust this company .. don't knock them down because their job is to tow cars. And make sure yall have all the paper work you need just like any other business. They are making sure no one else can get into the yard but the ownerr of the car yes it can be inconvenient but its for a very good reason!! And I'm thankful for that.
What a disaster. After getting into an accident my car was towed here. The driver said I can go straight there to do paperwork before he gets there. I arrive and am told that they can’t help before my car is there because they don’t have then details, I offer to give them and she refuses and provides no help whatsoever. Then I come back to get the next day to get my belongings out of my car and she will only let my husband go to the car since his name is on the title. Even though we obviously are together and he gave consent and is there with me. They weren’t helpful at all through any of the process
This company made an extremely stressful situation so bearable! The entire staff I spoke with were very professional. Steven assisted myself and companions with having my vehicle released. He was Very kind, educational and professional. Nathan assisted us as well with moving my property and was very professional as well. The fees were very reasonable and I appreciated their assistance very much!
