Please, do yourself a favor and avoid this place. They are rude from the moment you walk in. worst part is they quote super low prices. Was quoted $3.15 per pound for #2 copper. Went to a place called All Florida Scrap Metals. Inc and was paid $3.42.
No wonder they get so many bad reviews.
Bob himself is a man and he runs a good business one of his workers get on the fighting side of me but Bob is an understanding person and he works with you with in reason.
Yesterday I took some metals I had from my old car to Bob's recycling. I should have been paid at least $30, but more than likely closer to $35; instead I was paid $18. I didn't notice till I got home because I was in a hurry and since I got there at 5:30pm, left about 5:50pm, and they close at 6pm; I was not able to try and resolve this issue with them until today. I was told by the person who answered the phone that I should have resolved this yesterday and that it's too late now. I took 8.29 lbs of copper and only paid for 5 lbs. I took 30.5 lbs of cast aluminum and only paid for 12 lbs. I took 9 lbs of irony aluminum and only paid for 7 lbs. I took 1.23 lbs of insulated copper and only paid for 1 lb. All the weight I provided were weighed at my uncle's hardware store on the stores digital scale, which is inspected and approved by the division of standards. I know that it's only $15 - $20 dollars, while others are being cheated out of hundreds or thousands(by all types of companies), but wrong is wrong. I don't believe this is a simple mistake becuase it was done for every type of metal brought. This is deliberate and who knows how many others they do this to who might not even realize it. Stealing is not good business and I hope this company is investigated. Thank you

So I had a fair amount of copper wire and weighed it before arriving at bobs , I had exactly 120lbs of stripped copper and after the carts weight was deducted it only came out to 120lbs , maybe they need to weight those carts again but damn they have the weight of each on spray painted on the side I would rather put my scrap in it’s pail on the scale then you guys weight my pail empty and take off the difference but as a custom not allowed anywhere near the scale , I’m set I don’t trust you guys anymore and I’ve been scrapping with you guys for decades hell even my father and all his friends in the electrical trade went to you guys but I guess things change so unfortunately I won’t be doing business with bobs anymore they cannot be trusted unfortunately
Always a great experince at Bobs . Been going there over 10 years and the guys are really helpful and prices are top notch . The service is fast and friendly .
You will just claim you have enough loyal customers to not give a damn about b ad reviews. But your biased and just because your based in South Miami doesn't mean you should not have someone who can communicate with non-spanish speaking customers. Instead of clapping back with basically we don't care about your problems we'll be fine, maybe do better.
Today Mike and I went to Bob's recycling. It was our 1st time recycling at Bob's. It was a busy time but we had 2 different employees assisting us. They were friendly, helpful and quick to complete the process. I'm glad there are companies like Bob's that recycle to save the environment. We'll be back. Thank you!

The guys at the yard were pleasant when I went to this location. The blonde lady with glasses on the other hand was an ogre. Very unprofessional and super unpleasant. I've heard of having bad days, but my goodness. If you can't be pleasant at work, then you should keep your unhappy self at home.
I have always gone to that place they have never treated me as badly as today that new woman they have there is going to ruin them that I learn to treat people I don't understand if you have published a price on the website because I have to call before if what I carry meets the requirements for that price then they lie to the client! And besides, the weights are altered, it never fits with the weight you carry, solution. I don't recommend them at all
All that I got was a SCHRATCH and $ 6 for the stuff they decided to buy (because they don't take wahers and dryers, no metal, no steel etc etc) they JUST take aluminum. BTW, also the guy trying to put back a metal chair (they didn't take it) make a SCRATCH on my truck.
SO DONT WASTE YOUR TIME, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE... or even better, go to the Dumpster and save money on gas and no SCHRATCHS.
Ive been coming here to Bobs for over 20 years.. Ive never had a negative experience, quite the contrary.. They have always treated me right.. I mean its simple, get there, say hello, help the yard guys unload your scrap, tell the guy your name, take your ID to the window, wait one minute, sign and get paid. and of course tip the guys.. Treat people the way you wanna be treated..
Hey i mean honestly how hard can that be? Come on now, i dont know how it can be any easier.. im a loyal customer and will continue to go there. If you had a bad experience you probably aided in making it bad.. They get from me..
These people are dishonest. They ALWAYS pay you WAY less than what you should get paid for the material you take to recycle. I went there about 2 weeks ago to recycle metals. The woman in the window yelled at me for my ID saying they wouldn’t weight my items if I didn’t give them my ID first. Turns out, they put my items under somebody else’s ID and my receipt showed that person’s name and address. I noticed this, showed them and asked not to have my information in some random stranger’s receipt. They said they had deleted my information (so much for needing my ID to weight my items and pay me). Sure enough, few moments later, the person who came after me was given a receipt with MY name and address. To make matters worse, they paid me way, way LESS than what they should have paid me for the items I recycled with them. These people are disrespectful, unethical, dishonest and greedy. I will not take items to recycle to that place ever again. And I caution you not to either.
The employees were helpful. But The lady at the front desk was very rude. Even though I have gone multiple times with the same cables and scraped with no issues, they decided to add new rules that forced me to wait 2 hrs modifying my scrap to make it “scrapable”. I Parked in a none bothering location for other clients, the lady decides to tell me with attitude to leave because I was taking to long and stated that, “I should have done this prior to coming to the yard”.when asked about the weight of the products, she did not even bother to provide the information. She did not ask for identification, and gave the wrong receipt with the wrong payout.
Bob's recycling has always been super convenient for dropping off metal recycling. The staff are helpful. They have helped me determine what they accept and do not accept.
Went there today. After 7 years of going there at least 4 times a year i was told that they will not accept the cans because it had paper on it. I was never told that all this time of bringing the cans there. And because i mentioned that i was asked not to return by the worker. So yes i will not return. After reading all these reviews of your scales being off etc it shows how dishonest they work. So good luck. But i will no longer be going there. I at-least already found another location that also pays more and weighs in the bag and not in a cart that we as customers dont even know the weight of.
See some complaints that employees here aren't friendly and the prices aren't fair, and this was not the case for me. Interacted with three different employees and they all treated me with care. We dropped off an aluminum hurricane shutter from our front door and they gave us $32 in cash.
Awful service, and seemingly a willingness to flagrantly underpay. Find anywhere else.
I recently sold some hurricane shutters there and was treated incredibly poorly, as if I was some sort of criminal and I couldn't figure out why. I later realized that they may deal with actual criminals regularly, but that is no reason to treat every customer with hostility. The man I dealt with behind the window was very rude. I was told to go to the window and when I did he seemed angry, and simply opened the drawer and just stared at me. I said hello and he ignored me. Confused, I eventually asked if he needed my ID remembering that from the time I had been there about a year earlier, to which he nodded. The process from there was equally confusing and frustrating as he completely ignored my polite attempts at conversation, and only spoke to give me instructions.
On top of all of this, I found out later from my father that I had almost certainly been underpaid. Apparently the rate I was given was for much lower quality metal then I had sold to them. I would and will continue to advise anyone not to go there, and to find another place instead as almost anywhere else would be significantly better. It's one thing to have a possible mistake in the classification of the metal, but it is another completely ridiculous thing to be treated as poorly as I was.
Bob's has been stealing for over 30 years. This is the worst place to brings scraps. He will steal on the weight with his carts when ever possible. Anything that has a steel bolt or anything minor he pays .05 cents per lbs. Save yourself the agony and go next door or to a place on the river. This guy is a crook and always has been.
I had a bad experience here in August of 2016. The man tried to pay me dirty aluminum price for clean. Tried to argue that aluminum screw was iron. I wish I had weiged my stuff. I took my copper elsewhere after that experience.

After reading all the bad reviews i decided to weigh everything i had before i went, being as its the only recycling place by me, and its a good thing i did. I had 57 pounds of steel rims, they paid me for 47 pounds. I went back and let them know that i weighed my metal and knew exactly how much i had. They apologized and blamed it on a bad cart and paid me the rest. Had it been anywhere else, i wouldve given them benefit of the doubt, but after all these reviews i know they were skimming weight off. Ill never go back without weighing my stuff first.
I took 112 pounds of extruded aluminum, which I weighed at our calibrated scale in our warehouse. When they weighed it, they came up with 77 pounds. When I mentioned it to them, their response was take or leave it our scales are good. I told them I was going to somewhere else, and I had to reload everything by myself. They are the largest scam artist that I know. I highly do not recommend them.
The scales are way off and the service is horrible. You are treated like a rat and they will make you reload your own stuff without any help at all, if you decide not to do business with them or if the pay out is too low (which it will be). I have been to many of these places due to different locations of pick ups, and this place BY FAR is the worst I have dealt with. Needless to say, because their low prices and crooked scales, I had to load all the heavy metals back in my truck on my own while they just stood there watching me. I do not recommend this place.
Don't go here if you like to be treated fairly or look forward to getting fair market value for your items. Actually there is a place right next door to them that gives almost twice as much money as they give you at Bob's. They are very courteous too.
It's a well known fact that Bob is the biggest SOB in town when it comes to YOUR money. He gets his. I grew up here, so I know.
I called to get a price on Aluminum. I had 2 SCUBA Diving tanks I wanted to recycle and they Quoted .25 cents a pound all the 4 other Metal Reycling dealers i called quoted .40-.50 cents a pound, Seeing the previous review here showing that they also short change customers on the weight prove to me that they are a RIPP OFF DEALER GOUGING CUSTOMERS for half of what metals are worth and making way over 100% profits since even at the higher prices other metal dealers are surely making a profit. This is on people that usually work hard to get metal to recycle and really need the money. SHAME ON YOU !!! - I Recomend All Grade Metal Recycling in Naranja a few miles South on US 1
