I have been depending on Holmes Beach Automotive since we moved here 20 years ago. They have had some changes but the service is just as dependable, friendly and fair as it has always been
I stopped by recently and Nick & Johnny determined that I had a nail in a tire that had been slowly losing air. The nail was in a spot that a plug or patch was not likely to last.
I asked them about getting a replacement tire delivered to their shop and they were happy to do so and had it the next day.
When I took the vehicle in, I was in and out quickly. These guys were very helpful and courteous, which will have me returning to their shop in the future, should they need arise.

To my surprise, they called me the next day with an estimate & the repairs were completed at once. I spoke with James & Rick & they were both friendly & helpful. The price they charged was fair & I'm back on the road! So grateful that I found HB Auto...right down the street from my house! 😊
Had a rental car that front tire kept losing air...took a look at it right away and found 2 screws in the tire....repaired it right away and back on the road in 20 minutes...very professional and reasonable....highly appreciative and greatful for fixing.

Visiting the Island from out of state…decided to have my daughters vehicle serviced… The story goes like this needed some coolant and quart of oil for her vehicle so went to Ace Hardware met Johnny who got me the coolant but didn’t have the oil type needed he told me to go over to Holmes automotive Service and they will get me what I need. Met Nick and his team great attitude got me the oil. So I asked Nick if they could service my daughter’s Vehicle. Truly awesome experience. My truck had an engine issue on the way to AMI. Definitely didnt feel right as we were pulling into the island. I wasn’t exactly sure what it was but Nick did a great job diagnosing it quickly and taking my truck in and completing it same day. It turned out to be a plug and wire problem which fixed the issue and it also fixed a longer term engine idling issue that I couldnt figure out how to fix. Nick didnt pressure me to do anything unnecessary and I feel good that it was done right. Very grateful to have found these guys.
On our drive down to Florida for vacation my AC started to go out so when we arrived I looked for a reputable mechanic but since we were just visiting I was a little nervous as who to trust. I am so glad I found Holmes Beach Automotive Sevices. They did such a great job finding the problems, explaining the issue, and fixing it at a reasonable price. Work was done quickly and the team there is very knowledgeable, professional, and amazing customer service!
Very helpful and attentive to our vehicle. We were out of town and my truck had issues with starting. They looked and it right away and fixed it quickly.

Been going here for many years, brought a custom built vehicle after the hurricane with many modifications and they were able to do everything it needed and more. Every part was different and they were able to narrow down all the specs it needed. 10/10 recommend. Great shop! Can be trusted with any vehicle.

We had an issue with our car while on vacation. They took a look at our car immediately so that we were all set for our drive back. Shannon was able to diagnose the problem by just listening to the symptoms on the phone. They were able to confirm the problem, source parts and have the car fixed in less than 24 hrs. Pricing seemed a little high, but factoring 2 way cab ride to a mainland auto shop, it was very reasonable. Overall, very efficient, knowledgeable and honest.
The team took care of me and my car! Had another shop try and diagnose why my ac stopped working and couldn’t figure it out. No ac in Florida I can’t have that. Took it into Johnny and team. Car is all set and fixed at a very reasonable price. Will recommend.

They are obviously extremely busy, I guess I'm not the only one who's found this treasure, but they finished my car in one day on this last visit!
Rick, the new owner, is not new to the shop. He was the one who took my call the first time I took my my car to them, and he's been there for 20 years! He knows the business, and the customers. There are surely plenty, like me, who continue to bring their cars back to them every time.
Alternator shot day before our planned 1000 mile return trip to Pennsylvania. Totally at the mercy of a repair shop I knew nothing about. Brett and the crew at HBAS took terrific care of us and had us back on the road in half a day, moving us to the front of the queue when they understood our situation. 5 stars isn't a high enough rating. Will definitely be my repair center of choice. Highly recommend to anyone looking for my opinion! Thank you!!!
Great service at a great price. With all of the work Bret and his team did, I was pleasantly surprised that the cost was actually less than the estimate. I was also happy that they did not tell me I needed a lot of additional work like some other places I've been. We got into town on vacation and realized our minivan needed brakes. Called these guys since they were three blocks from where we were staying. They were great! Got the car in the next day and did all four brakes cheaper than I could have gotten it done at home. They called me back after we picked up the car to tell me there was a rebate offer on the brakes and we could get money back. Awesome guys. Really helpful. If you are staying on the island I would recommend them!
