  On January 3, 2023 it seemed like pay was extremely low. I asked if correct and was referred to Manager John who stated I always have an issue there and he looked at my pay ticket without confirming the weights and said it’s correct. The rates are higher here but always get more at other yards. Speaking of the comment below about racist there isn’t a single white person Ive ever observed working on the yard (excluding John). I called the manager at the other yard and was told John is his boss so I can’t talk to Marc (the owner). I’ve had people jump line and they do nothing but allow it. Never a resolution with John and he doesn’t like if you try to go over his head. I question the accuracy of their scales. Generally paid the number 2 price unless you press the issue. I’ve watched John berate customers for cheating them and threaten to ban but they don’t mind cheating you. I’ve even had employees walk on or around the scale when I’m weighing out. I’m going to find an honest salvage yard. Scale readouts are behind the rope where customers can’t confirm an accurate pay out nor read the weights. Customers have a vested interest to ensure that the weight is accurate and the pay is accurate. Based on the response to others “ we have been buying a lot of loads from you, if there is a problem please let us know before you leave the yard, maybe we can fix it. Happy to look at the transaction in question and I’ll adjust it if we see a problem“ apparently there is favoritism at seminary church location bc I asked before leaving if the pay was correct and not one item was re-weighed. I called the other location manager and requested to speak to owner and was denied so these comment responses are simolyb”damage control”. I have no reason to lie. People don’t complain until there’s an issue. I’m not the only one mentioning being slighted in the pay. Other metal yards have weight readouts where customers can verify and read it. Based on my experience I don’t recommend this place. I don’t steal somI expect honest and ethical compensation and weights. Online John tries to “save face” but every time I’ve brought it to his attention they were shorting me he would respond with arrogance how all the others are just glad to get it off their vehicle and they don’t complain about what they are paid. I’ve even had employees stand on big scale while getting an existing weight. The ethical scrap yards have readouts where all can see the readouts. Others have left one star reviews about being cheated here so apparently all are not “just happy to get it off their vehicle “. Every time I spoke with John about being shorted he would do anything but he post on here to call him to correct issues before leaving which I’ve done and he did nothing to rectify the issues. If you feel they have shorted you contact Florida Dept of Ag and Consumer Services and file a complaint.

  Beware of how your metal is separated and what they are calling it. Got me big time on copper by calling it all number 2. Even though it was weighed separately. Had more #1 and more bare bright than I did #2. They shorted me on brass as well, only had 17lb on the ticket. I know 1 pump I had weighed that much. Lucky I caught them caught them trying to call cast iron scrap steel. Trying to pay 7¢ a lb for it, what a joke. First and last time I do business with this dishonest place, cost me a couple hundred dollars.

  I don't recommended at all Leon iron and metal feel like I'm been rip off from pretty value metal. I saw the scale that weight 222 pounds of metal and a catalytic converter and got back 3 dollars, and this was my first time being in that situation so yea, this is definitely a big waste of your time and money HIGHLY DON'T RECOMMEND!!!!!!¡

  Put in a trailer hitch, throttle body, and a catalytic converter in the weight scale, it show it was 222 pound of metal. By the way it was my first time here, and I was at least expecting to get a pay out of this, turn out only gotten me 3 dollars for that whole experience, and I know for the fact that the trailer hitch and the catalytic converter was valuable, throttle body not so much. Don't recommend anyone giving pretty value metal to these people, feel like they rip you off for their own gain.

  I have used Leon Iron & Metal for over 20 years. The customer area is easy to access and there is always a staff member there to assist. They are friendly and helpful and very good at getting the weighing and unload process done quickly. It's a well run business and the pay for the scrap is competitive with other business of similar function.

  Slow, but they were packed, so it's understandable. Quick note to all stay behind the ropes. The service was kind, and efficient at their jobs. Not a bad place. Oh why 4 stars then... it's a junk yard. Really who gives 5 stars to a junk yard? Is it clean, can you sit down and eat lunch, can you bring kids here, or a pet to play, did they offer anything to drink, no. It's a industrial plaza, 4 stars is great. Part of this is an answer to a question I was asked.

  Never had a problem with this place until today. Just left with only $19 with a full truck load and the black guy with the cow boy hat refused to take my metal chairs that had a little bit of torn wicker on them. I have never left this place with a truck load less than $70 and suddenly it’s $19? I’ll be going to the one in Woodville until he gets fired.

  I love it. Been going to this location for years.the people have always treated outstanding. Service has always been remarkable. Nevertheless the prices could be better however i do understand how the the industry works.there price are scaled off of what metal is worth at the present time and well i cant expect them to give me top dollar for my metal if metal is down.thx keep up the great work
