My wife called Sun City Center Ace Hardware she looked upset. She said the man wasn't nice to deal with. I called back and thought he was ok. We went to get parts we needed. The same man was making remarks one after another. I had already asked I I could carefully open a part to see if it was the right one. I was cutting open the package just like the woman who had helped us at Ace last week told us to Another sales person at Ace came by and commented on I would cut myself.The 2 salesman wouldn't let me just try to figure out what parts I needed. I didn't go to Ace for a fight or to trade wise guy remarks I went there to find what I needed to finish a project. I did receive help and a free part,we used a $10.00 off coupon. What a shame. We have gone to Ace Hardware for years. We have only been to Sun City Center Ace Hardware a few times. This time it was the wrong place.

Although they do have a couple grumpy older gentleman working there, I’m still able to find what I need without ease. It’s a smaller location, but it does seem to be always clean and well organized. Always a great experience while dealing with Miami Mark! (The guy is too kind a professional) Such a great dude. Would strongly recommend this location for all your hardware needs!

ACE HARDWARE's leadership needs to change the closing hours to at least 8pm. People have jobs, by the time you fight traffic it is close to 7pm, just ridiculous. I guess since they are more expensive than Lowe's and Home Depot they figure what the heck, we have made enough. Out of touch leadership.

Van at Ace Hardware was extremely professional and very proficient while helping me fill up some propane. He made the whole experience quick, smooth, and easy. His knowledge and efficiency really stood out, and he made what could have been a hassle a completely stress-free transaction.

How this Ace hardware has any negative reviews just blows me away. I love this place. Helpful, friendly staff. A good assortment of tools, parts, basically anything a good hardware store would carry and then some. Been going here since moving here almost a decade ago. I have not a single bad thing to say about them and all the great people who work there. I don't care what all the negative people say. You've got a loyal customer for life. It's nice to go into a store where the people are competent and friendly. That's a rarity these days, especially in Florida.

This is friendly store with nice and helpful employees. I find what I need and get help when I need it. The young guys in the back help load bird food and other things and are very courteous.

The word “Hardware” may be deceiving. Yes Ace Hardware does have hardware and if you can’t find what you are looking for elsewhere, they probably have it at Ace Hardware along with gifts. Jewelry, key cutting, propane exchange, screen repair, paint, glass and acrylic cutting, horse and cattle accessories and a lot more. This amazing store also has customer service that greets you as soon as you walk in and accompanies you to the item you are looking for. This store is a gem located behind Walmart that will surprise you with their merchandise and prices. Store Manager Tim Beltz even had time to assist me with a problem I was having. He seems to have made that type of service the modus operandi for all employees. You won’t leave disappointed.

I have to say that the people that work in this Ace Hardware are the most helpful and nicest people I have ever dealt with! The associate went above and beyond to help me find what I needed, took the time to try the replacement item to make sure it was working, and when it wasn't tried something else to get it to work. He went above and beyond to get me what I needed for my Santa blowmold! Ace rocks!!

The best thing about Ace is the people. If you have trouble finding something just go to the info desk and someone will take you right to it. To heavy to carry? Just wait a second and someone will take it right out to your golf cart. My favorite hardware store.

Zero stars if I could. Had a horrible experience with Michelle at the cashier counter. I had a very simple question about their return policy and she was extremely rude and advised me that I better make sure that what I buy is correct or I’ll be stuck with it and won’t be able to return it , as if my question was absurd and she had never heard of someone making a mistake with a purchase. Absolutely had no intention of being courteous and treating me with any kind of respect. She immediately grabbed a manager who also seemed annoyed to be speaking with me. I will never be back here and stick to the Ace Hardware on big bend rd, where they always treat me with kindness and respect.

After a visit to the big box store in town, then a stop at walmart cause I had to pick up from pharmacy, I stopped at Ace where I found the slotted adhesive smoother I couldn't buy from the store I bought the tile at. Go figure.

Yes, Ace is good, but price is higher than box stores, I bought some plastic plugs for 1/4 holes @$.90 each. Yes almost a dollar each, amazon had them 100 count for $7.00 Lesson learned. I am sorry. .7 cents versus 90 cents each ???? RIP Off. AMENDED REVIEW. Drew, one of the owners reached out and explained the business side of this issue. A 3rd party handles this, and I do understand now, this is a convenience more than than a general supply for large purchases, so if you need 1 or 2 buy there, but they can't compete with Amazon or other high volume sellers. I failed to realize that, so next time I need to plan on 1 or 100, Drew spent a lot of time with me and I will continue to do business with SCC Ace. The big box stores or an auto parts place will be the same as ace.

I came in to ACE looking to get some extra keys made . I was welcomed and helped as soon as I came in. Then I was directed to Andy, who was very helpful and courteous. He quickly helped me, and i got my keys .I highly recommend this place, hometown feel .

When I am in need of household equipment, I always go to Ace Hardware in Sun City Center because I always need advice. I know that the staff will always help and give me the right information. My latest need was polish for my vintage marble tables. The Associate was not sure, so he made a phone call. Within minutes I had just the right polish.

Went to Ace hardware in Suncity yesterday for some paint needs after no luck with Sherian Williams and Home Depot. Best customer service reminded me of the old days giving me the small town feel that has been missing from this world we live in now. Thank you, Tim and Drew for your assistance yesterday. I will for sure be using ACE hardware for home improvements needs before any big box store moving forward.

This store and the employees are simply top notch. Recently I tried their propane refill service/FANTASTIC plus the ability after so many fills you get a free fill. After using my 12-yr old Weber Genesis BBq Grill we decided it was time to replace it. I was assisted by Ms. Sarah who displayed in every respect the Customer Centered Attitude/CCA that you always get when going to this ACE Harware Store of Sun City Center/Store #16244. Ms. Sarah also ensured I was able to get the two sets of lights for the replacement Weber Genesis E-315 Stainless Steele BBq Grill she explained when the BBq will be delivered and provided us with a "free propane refill card" - quick, professional, and friendly - a great shopping experience!

No photos inside as I tried to run in/out since I was arriving within ten minutes of close. Exactly what you expect fro and Ace Hardware. They have what you need and stuff you didn’t know you wanted. I called around 630pm to see if they had the wheels that go into my bar cart. Gentleman on the phone advised they do have plenty of “casters”. I arrived 650pm on a Sunday and they close at 7. 2 staff members greeted me at the door and asked what I was looking for. One staff member asked for a photo and took me right to the aisle and helped me workshop which size or length I could need. When unsure, I asked if I could return the item if it didn’t fit and they assured me I could. Grateful they were open all the way to 7 and didn’t close early so I could work on my project tonight. Will be back!

Every time I visit Ace hardware, I am impressed with the friendly atmosphere and the advice I receive. It really is like going home to the family. I have no complaints from my five years of shopping there--and it is walking distance from Wal Mart!

The store doesn’t do match price with any store like Home Depot etc. I asked to the cashier and she also asked a supervisor, this one said they doesn’t match prices with anyone. Funny thing is that this is what Ace policy is: Ace Hardware's price match policy is to match the price of a competitor's identical in-stock item if it's available at a local brick-and-mortar store. Need to update their policy’s or do better training with employees. Price was like $4.50 less at home depot. Look at google. Is that policy is incorrect, then you should contact google to update your policy. The Item is on the receipt. Thanks

To “LS” who doesn’t even want to leave his real name, let me tell you. Mary is an exceptional employee. She is nothing but helpful when I come in. To the owner of ACE, you must not know much about management. You don’t criticize your staff in a public setting, especially when you don’t know two sides of the story. I think it’s wrong for you to suggest she needs training on a review. Get two sides of the story, then handle it behind closed doors!

Would give 5 stars, but an elder male employee assigned as "gate keeper " when you tried to enter the parking lot, the very day Hurricane Milton was to hit us here in Florida, attempted to turn us away in our time of dire need. He literally questioned what we were there for (extension cords) then asked inside or out, we said out for a generator, he said light or heavy duty, we said we'd assume heavy, he said "We're sold out, turn around, exit over there" and moved to the next car! I told my son No Way, Park the car. Glad I did, because there on the shelf were exactly 2- 50ft heavy duty extension cables, and a 25ft cable. That employee needs to be written up. He had no radio or device to check stock and kept turning people away!

Just left the ace hardware store in Wimauma next to sun city center at 4:45 pm on 10/15. We were looking to find some information on their generac portable generators. My wife and I opened the conversation by informing the gentleman staffing the help desk that we are from NH and recently moved to Sun City Center but didn’t have a generation for hurricane Milton and indicated we didn’t want to repeat our bad experience. Also that we knew NOTHING about generators. . We then asked the “helpful hardware” man about there Generacs and he briskly told us the price which was around $1,000 and the wattage of 6500 if I remember correctly. That was it, period. No questions about the size of the unit we needed, nothing about the quality of the products, just that we needed to Google it. WOW! After further asking for more help, he rattled off some stuff about inverters etc. I then said I didn’t know what an inverter was and he rudely made us both feel like idiots by staring at us for a full 10-15 seconds before commenting. His lack of professionalism was astounding, especially at what we thought was a respectable chain or franchise. He’s probably the manager. Additionally he was chatting with someone who appeared to be a friend or acquaintance at the time. I included the time and date because I don’t want any good ace hardware professions to be confused with this guy.

It disheartens me to have to create this review because Ace Hardware is my favorite store. I literally grew up in an Ace Hardware which was a family owned business in Palmetto first (Jackson Hardware) then bought out by Ace but they allowed the family to stay and operate it. My returns were fire extinguisher mounts that I called in to see if they had available for a commercial fire extinguisher in preparation for a fire inspection to open a small business. The mounts were too small for the extinguishers. Mary (SunCity) store should know that she made my heart heavy. I was in disbelief at the lack and inability to provide the same customer experience for everyone. No matter what they look like. I stood in line about 10 minutes. I contacted Ace Hardware (Big Bend) by phone regarding a return without a receipt but advised that I have the credit card the products was purchased with. I watched Mary from customer to customer greet everyone and have small conversations building rapport. When it was my turn, she looked at me, grabbed her scanner and attempts to ring up the mounts. I explained, ma’am, I’m not purchasing. I’m returning, I don’t have my receipt but I do have the credit card these were purchased on. They are too small to mount the fire extinguishers. Mary looks up and said, no receipt, no return. I explained that I called prior to coming and was advised that I could with the card and managers approval… she cut me off and said it’s also a hurricane purchase, it can’t be return. I stood with confusion and disbelief as she was looking over me and not at me and she also was genuinely not interested in even allowing me to explain what happened. As I can tell that she felt like she said all there was to say, I asked her for her name and left. Shocked that I couldn’t determine if this was a me thing, a race thing, or she was just too busy to try and go the extra mile to hear me out and assist me. Idk afterwards I called the store back (Big Bend) and spoke to Billy and he just restored all the faith I had in Ace. He may not know it but, I was a little emotional when speaking to him because I never felt racially profiled and I’m still not sure if that is what happened here but his empathy, assurance and kindness was heard throughout the call. Billy don’t know it but I came to the Big Bend store a couple of hours later and he greeted me at the door and directed me to the trailer pins and just conversed with me. And this is my reason why I spend a little extra to go to Ace Hardware because the customer service and family like atmosphere has always been best. @AceCORPORATE: I hope you see this because anyone who knows me will tell you that I am one of the biggest Ace Hardware fans you all may have. Mary almost made me think the store had become racist. I will never visit the SunCity store because one bad apple really could ruin the entire batch. But Billy deserves all the praise. He single handily restored my faith in the company. And Mary: shame on you. I’m sure you wouldn’t like anyone treating your granddaughter the way you treated me.

Excellent service from floor staff as always, BUT... Sometimes, I get the bum's rush from the cashier staff. Have some respect. And NEVER place anything on one of their grills, even a 1 ounce brass fitting, which is still in the plastic display bag. God forbid it somehow gets through the plastic, then through the paper sign, then through the factory paper sticker, to alas damage the grill. Just my opinion. UPDATE: Spoke with Drew regarding my experience. Thoughtful individual. Hopefully, ACE can get back to that 'Mayberry' style of considering the human factor. Nobody likes to feel 3rd class. I called this morning to see if they had Minwax color gunstock in stock before making the drive because it shows online they have product in stock for $14.99 1 qt size. They confirm it is but when I get to store the price is higher than what it shows online. Take it to the cashier and she tells me she can’t price match to $14.99 from $16.99 because that’s an online price and in store I have to pay their price. She tells me they are not part of corporate every store is independent. So now I have to purchase and wait till order is fulfilled and it may take up to a day. No problem I tell them I’ll buy online when I get home, but then I decided to pass by Walmart to see if they have it and sure thing they do in store for only $7.47. Now if you would’ve trained your associate to provide good customer service and just price match price you wouldn’t have earned a 1 star. I would’ve paid the $14.99 and everyone happy. Very helpful and friendly employees are eager to help you find what you are looking for. Lots of unique items in addition to the normal needed hardware items you would expect. Store is clean and well organized.
