THIEVES. DO NOT TRUST. A friend/employee spent several days stripping excess copper wire from a job and collecting it in a clear container. Had about 20 pounds of pure copper and made the mistake of trusting the employees to not take advantage of his girlfriend and had her go to exchange the copper while he worked today. They straight up lied to her and claimed it was 100% aluminum, apparently even faked a test of some kind to convince her then gave her $2.50 for 20 pounds of copper claiming it was aluminum. Horrifically predatory to take advantage of a lone women. Owners should be ashamed. DONT GO HERE.
Place was extremely disorganized for someone who has never been there. One person telling me to park in front of the building and another one telling me to go to the scale. I had a small amount of steel and a small foreign catalytic converter. I informed them of it and they weighed it all together and I heard them talk about it. When I got the ticket they priced it all as steel. $1.20 for the catalytic converter, where other places offered $87-110 for it. That's just ridiculous.
If there was a negative zero star I would select it.
I called to get prices, and detailed my basic items over the phone to the lady which said her name was MarisolMaria. She said copper was at $3.20, then seemed confused.
She put me on hold, a man answered and began to ask me if it was wire tubing, solid inside, etc.
After I specially gave him details he asked me to send pictures.
He changed and said he couldn't give me a price over the phone because the "market website" changes 2-3 times a day.
I asked if he could refer me to the website so I can have an idea, yet he couldn't.
Then he began to tell me the office associate that knows about the pricing is out of office till next week.
Ok. So I asked for the persons name to contact them directly, he proceeds to say well they change all the time, so I DON'T KNOW.
HMMM...you work there and you don't know anyone's name in the office whom you could refer me to?
Lastly he starts raising his tone and says "I am really busy right now, I don't have time to give you all the prices over the phone."
Hmmmm...gee wiz, a true professional at it's best.
He then asks, "Can you call me in 30 minutes?" I calmly responded yes, and asked him what's his name. (He never introduced himself at the beginning of the call) He responded and said "Albert".
Terrible service as a first time experience!
It made me feel that this is the kind of shady place that will rob you, and take advantage, if you are not alert!
Lowballed us 15¢/lb for clean extrusion#2 aluminum and stole our ratchets and ratchet straps, then blamed it on me, not cool! Take your service to wsm scrap instead!!!
Extraordinarily great experience. I had never taken metal to a scrapyard and was uncertain what to do. The cashier was extremely friendly and called one of the guys from the yard to come and assist me. He was very kind, patient and helpful. The road and tipping areas were clean with no visible screws or nails (which was a relief to me). I highly recommend this business!
I used to bring my scrap all the time to this site, previous visit they offer a low ball price on the same stainless steel that I gave they before. Last visit they told me the same that my scrap will be bought as dirty stainless steel just because they decided. So take my scrap to another site and they offered better price and bought my scrap as clean stainless steel. Sorry Fedca you don't will see me again.

Best scrap yard I have ever been too.. whole staff friendly. The place was the cleanest yard also.. and when did people jump to help you offload they do here! Wish it was closer to me would always go back. Plus did I say price was way better than what I was expecting.
My usual go 2 for scrap, however; it wasn't a particularly good deal 2day. Thing is: a last minute trip there netted me a whopping 28.40 and left me feeling robbed. After inspecting my receipt ( son cashed me out ) i noticed that a bucket full of the money metal wasn't listed. 2 small battery, copper wires, brass tubing wit fittings n som mother boards n resistor type components. Plus i never even got that buxket back. Highly disappointed, n im going 2 inform them of said in hopes of a remedy plus bucket. I'll keep y'all posted.
You would think they would update the website on Holiday hours or at least add a recording that informs customers of Holiday hours, such a waste of time, money and gas! Addition* these people are theives and a bunch of crooks! They steal the metal and don't give you credit for it. It's the principle and they don't think you are watching or looking, but they are wrong! This place makes me so mad!! Honestly I would never come back to this dump ever again. They don't deserve my business! I rate this place with NO STARS!!
Very accommodating and friendly. We helped them out with some easy English with the names of some of their equipment. Fun day at the recycling center. Unbelievable amount of aluminum.
Prices are decent, but you have to watch your receipt very closely. They will cheat you on the type of material you have if you don't pay attention, beware.
I've been coming here for years and always had good experiences. But today some guy I've never seen before demanded that I use the scale for a small amount of clean aluminum which can make me lose up to 20 lbs bc it weighs in increments of 20lbs. Secondly I had cleaned aluminum window frames with a thin layer or caulking stains on the metal. The guy proceeded to tell me it was dirty after I spent hours scraping off all the silicone and removing all screws etc before coming to the facility. I've been scraping my old window frames for years and this is first time I've ever had someone try to cheat me on my cleaned aluminum. If I wanted the price for dirty aluminum I wouldn't have wasted my time removing silicone and metal screws. Lastly I've tipped these guys atleast 50$ every time I go scrap a load and this is how they repay me. I'm more disappointed that I was treated this way after tipping every one that's helped me in the past at this scrap yard.
Friendly and helpful yard men. Fair prices on steel. BUT, they will cheat you on aluminum by intentionally misclassifying your scrap. As an example, they classified empty oxygen cylinders as “ironized” aluminum and paid only 0.15 / lb, even though the valves had been removed and the cylinders were bare aluminum of the highest grade. Once the deal is done you have no practical recourse. Make sure of the pricing before you put your scrap on the scale.
I have been bringing my scrap to this place for years. They suddenly decided not to accept my paperwork for an ac system. I got the feeling that I was trying to scam them and they didn't accept my ac coils. Made me embarrassed!!! I will never go back nor any of my colleagues. Maybe because of the fact that I am white
Considering the fact that I'm an above knee amputee ( aka ) the transaction was minimal work on my part, help was abundant from fedca employees and all metals were separated, weighed, itemized and paid to scale. Impressive. I was paid a bit more then expected.
Do not seem to know or care about actual electronic recycling scrap. We had high value motherboards, hard drives, as well as various batteries and we were offered only $0.20 per pound over the phone but when we get there in person The Man In Charge only offered us $0.10 per pound take it or leave it. Unfortunately because of the time involved we had to take it. There are better prices out there and better places to do business. I run a computer store and I gather a lot of high value electronic equipment that we take the time to separate. In hindsight if I had the option to get my money back I would have done that. Bad experience overall I would recommend someplace else if you have anything other than scrap metal to recycle.
Brought 400 lb of wire today 150 lb of CAT5 and 250 lb of electrical wire and they threw a couple pieces of the cat 5 minute paid me less for the electrical wire then for the cat 5. Icomplained and they said if I sorted it they would refund it. I agreed and then they came out and said since I was already paid I was not allowed to touch it.f will not be returning to this scrap yard
Very rude and very unprofessional. I pulled in and was directed to a spot. Behind me were 2 other cars that parked. I some how got skipped and they started unloading the car behind me. I brushed it off and remained patient. After waiting almost 30min they went to the next car and started unloading it. At that point I went up and stated that I was next and that I had gotten skipped in the first place. The guy got mad and started yelling at me in Spanish. I could not understand a word he was saying. The manager then walked up and told me I had to wait my turn. At that point I was done. I did not want there service any longer. The worst part of it all is I was now blocked in and had to wait for them to unload the second car that came in so I could leave and take my business else where. This is the worst experience at a scrap yard that I have ever had.
This place is incompetent. Long story short I needed to scrap a car there. I brought all of my local and federal paper work for my business and they said they couldn't scrap it because i didn't have a business card with my name on it. It didn't matter that sunbiz had me listed as the owner of the business. It didn't matter that I had my resale tax cert with all the business info on it. It was because i had no business card with my name on it. I had the ORIGINAL title to the car in hand. This place is a joke. Dont waste your time.
Competitive prices!!!! Got me in an out fast. Helpful staff and very friendly. Workers helped to unload free of charge. Not to mention the yard was relatively clean compared to most yards. Definitely a reliable place to go to recycle all your metals!
Very disappointing. After reading all the stellar reviews I decieded to drive down to drop off some wheels. I called and confirmed pricing and said that I would be down shortly. Their website states they close at 2 and then the lady on the phone says that they close at 1. I arrived at 1230 and they said that they were closed. Very inconvenient after loading all the items and having to drive all the way down. Thanks for wasting my time. Will not be back.
I've been going to FEDCA for over 2 years - every time i collect enough scrap metal from my business. They have always given me an excellent service and have paid me very fair prices. I will continue going there, highly recommended!!!
