They've stopped accepting glass and instead of receiving payment for raw materials, the city pays (a lot) to have the stuff hauled away. Extremely sus. Done recycling.
Love the City of Deerfield Beach is committed to recycling, and I especially love how easy and quick they make drop-off. Joe is super sweet and nice. He's a friendly helpful guy that clearly loves what he does!!
I think this is a great thing that the city is doing, especially for someone like me who lives in a condo and has no way of recycling because all we have is a dumpster. Joe is super awesome You can tell he really loves what he does!
Friendly Moderator there to prevent contamination and help find right bin. (still surprised by the sheer numbers of people who don't check before making a trip and destroy the whole container). Will even take food scraps for compost.
Not an actual drop off for household bulk , wasted gas and time , the person there say I have to put the tuff in front of my house for pickup , he explained that this place intent us for after hurricane wet furniture. Waste of time . Had to drive to WM and there the want 170 minimum . So we will need to wait for next bulk day . 2 hours wasted .
We are a avid recycling Company. We have been recycling in Deerfield when they had the old location on Goolsby Rd., and Joe the attendant was there...20 years ago, and still there today! He is a wonderful person, helpful and we are family now. Check it out, great experience and your doing something good for the planet!
What a gem this guy Joe is. What will this place do without him? I hope he has an understudy. He was so friendly and thanked me for being a great recycler. If you can make the time, stop and see him. I brought batteries and an old smartphone that was broken. You will be glad you did!!!
