'spartan towing' was arranged 1st, through my insurance. After 2 hours of waiting, they sent an automated message to say "we are not coming".
Then I was switched to Moffo(not pronounced the way I had hoped apparently lol) towing. Employee arrived (by the time estimated) and worked diligently to assist with a difficult spare tire removal and then quickly got everything completed. He was very nice and professional/good at problem solving, and obviously skilled at his job.
And yes, they did warn me that my spare was low on air, (20 psi apparently) but I drove slowly , with my hazzards, as instructed, and made it home in one piece. He recommended getting the air checked in the spare whenever I get an oil change, never occurred to me=great advice.
He even helped put the flat tire in the trunk so I can go get it patched tomorrow.

Reached out to Moffo's Towing & Recovery for assistance in removing two vehicles off our customer's property and they were able to jump on this request right away, maintaining great communication and customer service along the way.
I was surprised at how quickly they were able to get to my car. It was a great experience. My technician was named Nick and he was polite and through. I felt like they were taking good care of my car. It was nice to have an anxiety free towing experience.
The staff was rude and the driver was even worse. Not to mention they dont seem to know what they're doing as they kept tearing up their equipment trying to tow us then wanted to charge us for it. When we didn't want to use their service anymore they tried to strong arm us into using their service. When I tried to pay them on the spot they said I couldn't, that I had to go to the shop to pay, just to realize later that was because they would charge me more once they took it to the shop. After causing damage to my vehicle and theirs while they were trying to tow it out from its location that they obviously didn't have the training and experience to do, they charge me for them tearing up their equipment while trying to tow me while causing damage to my truck as well. I have a long video of this on my phone how nasty they were being to me and the other customer. Use at your own risk but don't say you haven't been warned how horrible this company is all the way around. They are so scammers, charging me almost a $1000 for a 15 mile tow and refuse to take my payment on-site, forcing me to go to their shop to pay so they can charge me more on the bill. No 15 mile tow should cost $1,000.
My partner and I drove a big uhaul truck with a towed car for the first time from Orlando. When we passed Gainesville, we got stuck in a small alley. It was on Sunday morning. We called multiple tow companies. We got ghosted by one company. We waited for 3 hours, and no one showed up.
My partner found Moffo on Google. The owner was prompt to respond to our call and quickly helped us revert the uhaul. Without him, we probably wouldn't make it to our destination. If you want a reliable service, I highly, highly recommended Moffo's Towing & Recovery.
This is the second time I got TOWED! First time I was parked on the side of the road. That was fine because I didn’t know. Second time is today. I parked my vehicle close to the our front door in case emergencies calls and bad hurricane weather. Moving it away from harms way. They drove up my parking lot and towed the car away. My nice neighbor decide to come ring our door to let us know! Like serious? During a hurricane? What if worse was to happened? In my opinion, they’re trying hustle you out this community.
Highly recommend this tow company! We were stranded almost 99 miles from home on a Friday evening and the owner did not hesitate to make arrangements for our vehicle to be towed immediately. Our truck was disabled in a tow away zone and we were panicked at leaving it overnight. If I ever need help again with roadside assistance or a tow I will not hesitate to call them again!! We are very appreciative.
Second time using this company, and had good experiences both times.

George from the starke office is awesome! The dispatchers were very patient with the situation that was on hand. The estimated wait time given was “within the hour” but it ended up being two hours. I know that everyone is short staffed though so that didn’t bother me too much! If I called, they gave an update. The price was extremely fair. George was very kind and patient as well! I would for sure recommend and request him! He made it look so easy! Thank you, George!
Tried to get a tow, was told It would be 90 minutes. That ETA came and went. An hour after that, I called and was told the original tow truck broke down, they had to reassign the tow, but couldn't guarantee he'd show up. Never got a call regarding any of this as I should have. No excuse for this. I called someone else...they showed up inside an hour, and got my vehicle towed for less than Moffos wanted. They'll get my business from now on.
This company is one of the nastiest company. Both the old low life woman and the owner is rude. Both individuals hung up the phone on me. Never use this company!!!!! My son's scooter was stolen from campus and when the police department recovered the scooter, we decided to have it towed. The company was told to tow my son's scooter to his apt and MOFO took the scooter to their lot. Then they charged all of these large amounts of fees and when I inquired about the fees I was told by the woman behind the desk that she is not going to explain anything to me and hung up the phone. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY STOLE MY SON SCOOTER AND EXPECTED ME TO PAY FOR IT. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, LOW LIFE FORMER DRUG USERS.
I utilized their services via the USAA app, which said it would be a 75-105 minute wait. Motto towing arrived within an hour. The driver towed my vehicle to the tire shop only to find out it had been bought out and was closing for business. Even though he was technically supposed to leave my car there, he took it across the street to Goodyear for me. The driver was very understanding and sympathetic. I appreciate that he went out of his way to go above and beyond.
I would give 0 stars if possible. I was given a 90 minute wait time, 17 minutes away from moffos and received ZERO roadside assistance after what has now been 4 hours of waiting for a tow truck. Horrible company. The woman I spoke to over the phone was also extremely short with me and did reassure that I should trust them in any way, instead just cancelled the tow after a few good HOURS of waiting. Very angry and upset with this company. I wish you bankruptcy in the near future.
What kind of moron changes a flat tire with a flat spare tire and doesn't bother to alert the car owner that the spare is flat and just leaves? When we attempted to get the driver to return to service the tire as we requested, we were told he has no way of putting air in a tire or plugging it. What a waste of the two hours that we had to wait on top of it. I'll be using a different towing service and I urge you to do the same. All these "great reviews" must be friends and family or they bought fake reviews!
I received prompt after hours service, Sean was very skilled and got my vehicle exactly where I needed it to be. It was a tricky spot to deliver to but he did it without any issue. No complaints whatsoever!
My car broke down at a red light in the middle of Gainesville, my insurance company dispatched this company to tow my car. When I looked on my app, the arrival time said 90 to 120 minutes so I clicked on the phone number listed and called them and informed them that I was literally stuck in the middle of the road at a red light and the gentleman on the phone said he would call his driver right away. The driver got there within less than a half an hour, and informed me that his boss had made my call a priority, because I was stuck in the middle of the road. Bright as the driver had gotten there, I was able to get my car started, but he followed me to the gas station to make sure I was safely off of the road. Very nice and courteous.
My van started leaking water and coolant and overheated. We called our insurance and they sent Moffo's. They were out to us in 15 minutes.
Not only were they quick, but they have a fantastic employee. His name is PJ.
I had both my daughters, and we couldn't all fit in the tow truck. We were waiting for a lyft driver. He waited with us so that we weren't alone. Thank you PJ for being such an amazing person!
Last couple of times I needed roadside assistance were awful experiences. Once, I had to wait like 3 hours for some gas to get me back on my way ( malfunctioning gas gauge ), another time the local tow company wanted to charge me an additional $200 on top of the insurance allowance I get with Allstate to tow the vehicle about 2 miles. They advised me to try again the next day when there was less demand, but next day they still wanted the additional $200.
But tonight, I needed a tow from Tower Rd to Hawthorne and Moffo's Towing really hooked us up. Also through my roadside assistance, Shawn from Moffo's arrived in less than an hour, was cheerful, and very reasonable priced. Most importantly, he got my vehicle back home safely. I'd totally recommend them again & again.
State Farm automatically set me up with this company three times! Should have figured they weren't coming after waiting for the 90-minute eta. I called twice, and the guy answered the second time at 1 am. I understand it was late, but the guy had just woken up and was not ready to be on the phone. He said that the insurance company auto dispatched again and that they had no drivers until the morning. I'm not certain if State Farms system is at fault, but this seems to be a recurring problem, and the tow company doesn't care to fix it.
My insurance carrier Nationwide ins roadside service dispatched this un carrying service. The staff Ashley and whomever there with her was rude and unconcern. I waited over 3 hours they never called out of courtesy they're too busy to come and stated Nationwide employees is not doing there job. They abruptly cancelled my service after waiting for them .3 hours.
These people are downright RUDE. With no reason to be. You can see by their responses to people. My insurance company chose them to come out and give my car a jumpstart, I called the office and the woman picked up the phone with an attitude. I asked if someone was coming out and if they could give me an ETA. She said 60-120 minutes. At that time it was 1:45. I waited until 3 before calling the driver to see where he was. He says he’ll be there in 15 minutes, I say okay and wait. At 4:00, I call back because it’s been 45 minutes and he picks up the phone super aggressive and aggravated as if he didn’t give me a time when he was coming and didn’t show! He’s basically like I’ll get there when I get there and hangs up the phone. I end up calling my insurance company, telling them to take them off their service provider and NEVER to connect me with them again. I had been waiting over 3 hours when I was originally quoted for 60-120 minutes. I got connected to another company and they happily came within 30 minutes. They are just awful people… as the other reviews say.
Tow truck driver was indifferent and somewhat rude. Had to take a picture of the phone and address of the office from off the tow truck. Driver provided no information about any of their services or fees after my accident. No one at the office volunteered any information as to their hold fees or any thing customer service related. I got a bill in the mail and called. Had they informed me about their fees I would have saved a lot of money by taking care of business with them sooner. Only when i called did they tell me what they were charging me. No smiles, no effort to be aware of customers perspective regarding accidents or tows. Customer service really needs improvement. These folks took a rather "oh well" attitude when interacting with me.
Used moffos at least twice now, great service both times. First was a tow from my home to a repair shop, they were the cheapest service by at least twenty dollars out of three quotes from area tow companies, the driver showed up on time, was very professional, made sure to photograph the vehicle before and after to ensure no damage occurred during the tow, and was all around pleasant to deal with.
The second time I lost a serpentine belt at night on 441 and used my roadside assistance who contracted moffos. The driver showed up half an hour before estimated, which was awesome, again made sure to photograph my vehicle before and after the tow, made sure I had a ride, and dropped off my key with the car at the repair shop to save me a trip (Some companies won't do that). Again was pleasant and professional, and made a bad situation as pleasant as possible. Will definitely just call these guys again when I need a tow, and I hope my roadside assistance continues to use them.
I have never in my life dealt with such a nice and speedy towing company. I broke down on the side of the road the other day and called them. When I say they were there within minutes, I mean minutes. I called, 5 minutes later the driver called me back telling me they were two minutes away. The man that answered the phone was suuuuuuper nice and understand. If you need to be towed, use Moffo's. Don't use anyone else. They are awesome.
I had Kenny from Moffo's as a tow truck driver and he was excellent. He was on time and constantly in contact. My fiance and I called and they were there within 25 minutes. I even accidentally wasted some of his time by not showing up to the drop-off location on time and he was still extremely nice and helpful. Not to mention, most food delivery drivers can't find our house but he found it right away. Most of these bad reviews are likely due to their insurance companies giving the wrong phone # to the tow truck driver or something else to due with insurance company. Thanks for the great service!!
So I left a bad review the first time I had to work with them (I deleted it) due to how unprofessional the ladies that handled the calls and the tow truck driver were and due to the lengthy response time but my insurance company ended up using them again a couple years later. THIS TIME, service was ridiculously fast (took 17 minutes to get to my house) and the tow truck driver was beyond friendly. I'm not sure if changes were made internally but this is how you do it guys. Good job!
My tow truck driver was Shannon and he was very nice! Showed up earlier than expected and even figured out why my car wouldn't start. He also went the extra step and recommended a mechanic for me. I felt bad canceling on the one i already called, but I will check out that one in the next month or so. All around very kind man
My insurance company assigned Moffo’s to tow my car. After reading the reviews I figured it’d be a good idea to call Moffo’s to make sure they had all the right information and to confirm the ETA. It was 15min before the ETA was due (which was okay, I am willing to wait even if they couldn’t be here at the specific estimated time of arrival). They did not answer after 3 calls so I just called my insurance company and they couldn’t reach Moffo’s either. I ended up just telling my insurance company to change the service provider to another one who actually answered. Even the lady working for the insurance company was extremely comprehensive and agreed with me. If even she can’t contact Moffo’s, how do I even know they’re really coming?See, I don’t mind waiting, but what companies like Moffo’s need to understand is that when a person is asking for towing they might be stuck in an unsafe place with children. One needs to be able to contact the company and at least know when they’re coming. It’s the least one expects. I don’t need them to be here super fast, I can wait, but knowing the company cares and that you’re in good hands is part of providing a good service. After all, this is a service that I’m paying for.
Update: It’s been two minutes since the other company was assigned and the are already “in route”. Like I said, I don’t mind the wait, I just want to know they’ll be here at some point. :-)
