I had to pick up parts today. After spending almost 2 hours at DMV and driving in the rain and traffic, Robert was very welcoming. Robert is the person who greeted me and handled my purchases. Very friendly and kind.
FEBRUARY 28 2024 I don’t even know where to get started. Just know I am the wrong person to be mistreated unprofessionally because one thing I will do is run my mouth! TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION I was referred from a coworker for a transmission for a total of $800.. deposit $400 to order and $400 when it arrived. Everything was fine until it came time to deliver the part. Someone name ROBERT assisted me and stated they delivered parts on Wednesdays and Fridays. Urgently needing my vehicle, Tuesday afternoon i paid my deposit and talked to them before they closed to make sure that they were able to deliver Wednesday morning. Wednesday morning I gave them a phone call as soon as they opened and they told me that the driver already left out for delivery and that I will have to wait till Friday. (FIRST RED FLAG) Friday came they delivered it the transmission late in the evening my mechanic has been expecting them all day to get started on it and even stayed after hours the shop closed that way it wouldn’t be outside. No phone call to update me or let me know that it was delivered (SECOND RED FLAG) but now at that point i was getting frustrated because I had to wait until Monday for them too start working on my vehicle -_- transmission was replaced but when it came time to program it at the dealership they told me the serial numbers were scratched off the transmission -_- I called Robert he told me all he can do is give me a refund and that he no longer wanted to service me another transmission. At this point you can tell in Robert’s voice that his entire attitude and tone changed as if I did something wrong? (THIRD RED FLAG) MONDAY I asked what time they would be able to pick up the transmission again Robert says the driver is all full schedule for Wednesday wait until Friday. Friday comes I call first thing in the morning to ask what time it will be delivered that way the ppl at the shop look out for it. No exact time Robert says the driver will get there when he gets there basically. After that I went back to work, no phone call. Keep in mind I’m at work mon-fri 8-4 and I’m more communicative than he is. I called back around 3PM for a follow up and ROBERT told me that his driver was out and that it should be delivered shortly. Right then and there i made it clear where to deliver the part same place they dropped it off at. I mentioned that my vehicle was no longer at the dealership and that I had it towed back to the shop. Robert most definitely heard me say that over the phone because he said okay wait for the driver. One hour later I call back (not Robert) and he tells me that the driver left because he’s been waiting on me for an hour at the dealership -_- and I respectfully told Robert that was not fair that I had just got off phone with him and clarified that my truck was at the same shop that they delivered the transmission too and that he could’ve notified the driver at 3PM when I called for a follow up but instead he gets mad with me and tells he sick of this “BULLSHIT” there was nothing is he could do about it that I had no choice but too wait next Wednesday. Till this day I don’t have my vehicle it’s been over a month now never met them in person all the transactions were over the phone i am very disappointed because so many people had so many good things to say about this company but when it came to me they got over a nice young lady! I had my own mechanic come pick it up because I did not like how I was being talked too.

I had a terrible experience at Fitzgerald Scrap Yard when I sold copper to them. Not only did they offer me a ridiculously low price for the copper, but they also deliberately shorted me $100. , I trusted then and didn’t look till I got home when I checked the amount they gave me, I realized something was wrong. When I brought it up with the staff, they were rude and acted like they couldn’t care less. They tried to brush me off instead of resolving the issue. I’ve sold copper to other places before and never had an issue, but this was just blatant dishonesty. Do yourself a favor and avoid Fitzgerald Scrap Yard. There are much better and more trustworthy places to go. I’ll never return.
The ppl there my say they love Jesus...but boy it doesn't show.. ur put on hold without a simple "hello can you please hold" and then when you get there they're condescending, rude and very short with you like you're annoying them... Fitzgerald's used to be so much better but now it's just trash the people at the parts counter or the worst there's a few good people there I've been going there for 15 years but I haven't for the last three I just called and really put on hold without a word I called back basically get yelled at that I was put on hold for a reason ... why is it the people that say they followed Jesus the most or love him the most are the ones that don't follow his teachings the most
Was put on hold for 45 min ...drove there to see them just sitting back and talking have a good time..hanged up and called back just to watch them put me on hold again..Had to call front office to get them moving...
Called for a discontinued part. Man on the phone told me to have somebody look for the part would be to expensive for me. Said he did not have the manpower. The part snaps in no tools required. I told him I need the part. Told me he will not have anybody go look for the part. Great service. I only live one mile away. I will never go back there again.
Called in, told they do not ship. I really needed the part and the guy is 100% unwilling to help a potential customer. From the sounds of the other reviews on here, wow not surprised the service isn't great here.
I bought a car door from them and it was damaged before I was able to pick it up. I called in advance to confirm they had what I wanted. When I arrived, the owner showed me an entirely different door. I was called back by another employee who confirmed the door I wanted was there after all and he just didn't double check. Very disorganized.
On the past two occasions I've been there, they've unloaded items from my vehicle. One time they used a crane & the last time many employees unloaded my trailer by hand. I really like the services I've received at this place.
The customer service is terrible they say they will call but rarely do, say they will pull a part but take forever and again no notification after they said they will. They aren't coordinated at all. This place is only really good at scrap metal I think they should leave auto salvage to other companies because they are terrible at it. Only reason Id go here is for locational convenience.
I would give them a 1 star but the parts prices are reasonable.
We went there with some steel eye beams from a trailer. we would have gotten more money for it it had it been cut into 5 ft lengths. Overall the experience was quick and put a couple dollars in our pocket. Fitzgerald's is the best recycling place around
I have always had good things to say about Fitzgerald and always had good experiences but I called them last week and asked them if they had a sideview mirror for a ford focus. They told me they would get back to me, so I gave them my name and number. I waited three days and called them back and ask the same thing, they told me that they would get back to me. I am still waiting and it has been a week.
FIVE STAR ALL THE WAY AROUND.
Pleasant, easy to deal with and GREAT prices too. $20 for a space saver spare when others wanted $40 and $50. They gained a new customer. Thanks again!
Have been trying to call since they opened to have them pick up a truck. 2 hours later, still no answer or call back. Did the same last time but took 2 days to call back.
I was driving on 113 behind one of your trucks and the guy driving threw his trash at a truck turning. His coffee cup hit my car and got all over my windshield and I almost crashed. I'm seven months pregnant and this nearly gave me a heart attack. At the next red light the driver went into the left turning lane, backed up, and proceeded to give me the finger and start screaming at me as if I had anything to do with him littering. I took pictures of his truck at the red light and plan on reporting him. He really should not be on the road.
Great place to scrap metal. And an even better place to find parts for cars, small engines, motorcycles, ect. This place has saved me alot of money in parts over the years.
I live in South Jersey and have been coming to this place for years. They have always been very polite, friendly and extremely helpful. Their prices are also very reasonable. Love this place
Dont waste your time or money first experience bought a motor they had it wrapped up in plastic for when I got there to pick it up got home unwrapped it and it didnt have valve covers on they fell to the floor and inside was rusted and pitted sold me JUNK second and LAST they will get a dime from me bought a transmission was promised it was good and been checked got it installed doeant have a single gear in it when i called and confronted them was told I must not know what I am doing or my mechanics messed up or just bring it back no sense of responsibility at all btw been working on vehicles for 20 years and my mechanics been in biz for 50+ smh and the worse part other than their unprofessionalism is they dont warranty any install on any parts including major drive or power train products so in the end because of them and their bald face lies im out another 1400 in a seperate trans and install go to Eden or Bridgeville they womt scam or rob you
