Came here last week with a massive 400 pound washer and scrapped that thing! Tore all the copper out of the motors and traded that in separate from the steel . Got a fair price for everything. I think the total was like 250$ pretty good if I do say so myself. If ur reading this don’t tell the local frat house that I got this out of. They used it to wash towels and sheets. They won’t miss it much anyway. I replaced it with a 100 pound washer instead lol.
This place is terrible! Do not go here!they try to screw people over! They tried to give me $2.00 for red brass they said it was yellow and I also had yellow brass to compare it to. Plus every where else is $2.25 for yellow brass...these people are crooks they weighed it on the cart and the cart said it was 117 pounds and they took 120 pounds plus I never been charged a facility fee this is ridiculous
Used to love going to this place. Friendly people great prices. That is until today when they tried to screw me on copper wire. After I've been using this location for the past 15 years, when it was a different owner by the name of cannons. And today they decided to change the rules on the wire at least that's what they say, they tried to Short change my wire from $2.30 a pound to a dollar 80 a pound saying that it was not big enough wire to meet the $2.30 criteria. For the past 15 years the exact same wire that I've been taking in has always been classified as number one strippable. If you do not know clearly what you're taking in I would advise not taking it there because they will try to cheat you out of your money
This place is quick and the staff is very nice and professional. Josh is always very professional. Very knowledgable when it comes to metals and desciphering price is right. Won't go anywhere else.
P.S. he's always easy on the eyes.
It’s okay till you see fees like the “facility fee” they decided to make up and charge people on. I mean people are bringing you stuff you make money off of and you charge them for it? Maybe people bringing metal to your yard should charge you guys a transportation fee for hauling metal down there to you. This fee is nothing more than a free donation to them. Super greedy. Your business expenses are not the customer’s responsibility so don’t push it off on them in some greedy excessive fee.
This place is great but coming down to any junk yard or even the dump always a chance of catch a screw or nail in the tire. But that’s the game and can’t really blame em for it. It’s scrap yard for cry out loud. This one here is one of the cleanest ones.
They were busy as ever today and everyone there was still great to deal with. Prices are solid as well. I don't just keep doing business with them because of their location to me, I keep doing business with them because of how they do business.
Clean and very professional scrap yard. Sonny is very knowledgeable about scrap and keeps the yard clean and flowing. Everyone is very nice there and hard workers.

Listen I was there about a month ago. Our vehicle broke down inside scrap yard. The staff went above and beyond to help us. Like wow. Even the office staff was very helpful. GM was excellent on advising us what to do. I am grateful. And plus we manage to get our scrap weighed out.
Like I said before pricing is great on scrap and yard is big enough to maneuver around.
My experience at Dover was great. Joel, Bill,Sonny, Adriana, Melissa and Kate are all very polite and helpful. I would Go back anytime I had metal to scrap.
Always get quick and friendly service and they offer fair prices on all types of scrap metal. It's always a good day at Dover Scrap Metal when we see Sonny's smiling face! Keep up the good work guys!
I enjoy recycling, scrap metalling, or just asking generalized questions with the staff at Dover Scrap. Every time I have used Dover Scrap to recycle my metals they have been very organized and quick with getting each customer in and out of their facility and their employees like Sonny,Joel,and Steve have years of experience in the industry and usually can help with any questions I have about their policies,metal preparation,or their facilities.
I went to junk yard today and this was a tall older white male who was running a machine who actually took the time to get off the machine to help me unload my load. Not one other person tried to help me unload but he took the ignititive. I'm not sure of his name. But I've notice multiple times he's works at any station necessary and is such a hard worker.

Just moved to the area and had to clear some old junk off the property. When I arrived everyone was awesome since it was my first time there. Adreana was the first person I met. What a great cheerful happy person.
Not sure about prices, so if you're in it for the money I'd do research. I just needed to get rid of some things easily. Though there are few (no) directional signs that direct what to do, where to go, wait get a number, go around. For a newcomer it was painful. Inside folks tried to act nice. In the end. Will probably go again if I am unfortunate to have something break.
Okay to get rid of stuff but they will stiff you on prices. Place was convenient when cleaning out my garage of a few items but I noticed they were charging me for lesser metals when I was bringing them different higher grade metals. It wasn't the first time this happened either. I think they deliberately charge people for lesser metal prices to stiff you on paying you what you should get. Junkyard isn't a way to make cash and I'm not expecting there to leave with money falling out my pockets but if I bring 15 dollars worth of high quality steel based on their own rates and then the stiff you at the counter and give you 2.50cents because they're paying you for some cheap low grade metal when you've brought in high grade metal then we have a problem. I just used them to get rid of stuff too heavy for the garbage man too take that's about all they're good for.
Called with titled van, they told me it was $5.50 a hundred. Van was loaded with parts from van, small motors,etc. Weighed just over 3000 pounds. They unloaded it , went to window got $3.30 a hundred. ($101.00) . They said cause it was stripped of engine and trans. They need more clarity...would have brought it to md salvage yard, paying 450 a hundred. ANYWAY THEY CAN SCREW YOU THEY WILL. WILL NEVER BRING A FRIGGIN HUBCAP TO THESE CHEATING PEOPLE!!
