Food was excellent, a well crafted sandwich with great ingredients. Staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was very welcoming. Earned a regular patron on the first visit.
Cute little place. They had Nat King Cole Christmas music on the background, and a smell of home cooked food, and apple cider tea. It was nice. Very cute country store. Good spot for cold fall or winter season to stop by before or after coming from Gillete Castle. They do have an unmarked parking spot in the front of the store and marked parking spots to the side. And 15 minutes parking spot signs up front. And a nice porch to just sit and relax before going back to the road. The people were nice and talked to us a little bit. It felt like visiting far away family members, you get to see once or twice a year. I bought some of their Moodus Coffee. They have it in bags with beans and grounded. It tastes really good. It is a nice spot to stop by. Did not see bathrooms though.
Everyone who works here is so friendly. They make my morning routine so much better with fresh coffee, amazing pastries and any snack or drink you might need on the go. Go here!
I had a raspberry scone, and I was the best and most delicious i ever had, the market was immaculate clean, and ppl were very friendly, coffee was excellent
Don't miss this hidden gem whether you are vacationing or live in the area. A cozy, embrassing old fashioned vibe. My husband and I visit a few times a week. The pizza is unique, delicious and reflects the homemade flair of the cuisine. The homemade baked goods are worth the visit alone. The local crafts make a wonderful souvenir and make a beautiful addition to the cozy milieu.
The owner and staff go over and above to make us feel welcome. We moved here recently and this has become one of our favorite places. I highly recommend.
Great Espresso! The oat lattes are really good. You guys should update google maps with this as a location for espresso, thought you guys only had coffee so never bothered stopping.
Cute little restaurant a few minutes away from Gillet Castle. The building looks historic and inside looks quaint. We ordered a red pizza and it was great. It is small and only has a few seats, but there are lots of picnic places nearby.

I was at the post office next door and the smell from outside was intoxicating so had to go in. Friendly service and delicious food. My husband and I got the crossroads panini, the riverboat white pizza and a build your own deli sandwich. Best pizza ever! Everything was delicious I didn’t even have time to take pictures before we gobbled it all up :D
We found this little place on our way to Gillettes castle, and I'm so glad we did, best sandwiches I've had,it's been weeks and my husband is still talking about the chicken panini he had, will definitely be back
My husband and I are so happy we found this hidden gem after visiting Gillette Castle! Hadlyme Country Market has Ashlawn Farm Coffee (the Autumn blend is absolutely delicious?), and their L.L. Brockway is one of the best deli sandwiches I have ever tasted. My husband loved the Hummel hot dog he ordered. We highly recommend Hadlyme Country Market!
Such a sweet spot. Great for coffee, snacks, sandwiches & light provisions. Absolute must stop when doing the fall circuit. Very interesting rambling furniture antique shop across the street.
If your in visiting Gillette Castle you must stop by this adorable corner store. Just down the street from the Ferry. Lisa serves up the best paninis ( the Selden is our favorite) and wood oven pizza. Great place for locals to meet up for Ashlawn coffee on the porch .
Cute little place. Stopped here for a quick snack. Everything is pretty expensive but hey, we were a bit of a drive from town. And the selection was good. Friendly staff!

Real little county store with generous portions on the sandwiches. Also coffee, snacks, and beverages including beer. There are select curated items available of note cards and bags.
I used to live in an apartment upstairs back when it was just a store. I saw Lisa and her co-owner transform it to the awesome market it is today. It's like stepping back in time. I can honestly say, I had the best sandwich I ever had a while ago. I kid you not☺️
This classy and old timey market is a life saver for those last minute items you need, and you don't want to drive 20 minutes to the next store (I love the country!). The fresh baked sweets are delicious, and their sandwiches are always fresh and delicious. I recommend the Selden 3 sandwich.
If you’re looking for a place to stop on Hadlyme for lunch please stop here. Their sandwiches are SO GOOD! They have make your own and sandwiches on their menu that they have come up with. They are all good and the cookies are too.
Everything about this place says I should like it - it's so cute, front porch and all. But I don't. Never have. Not in all the years and all the trys over all those years. $17 for 2 hot dogs - one with nothing on it, the other no bread even. No ketchup, no mustard, no relish. Plain hot dog. 1small bag of chips, a soda and a sparkling water. I even asked for a little off on the hot dog with no bread. Nope. So I asks again, and nope again. $17. Very unfriendly kid. The sandwich maker girl was nice enough though.
The perfect place for a hot coffee and fresh pastry first thing in the morning. Unmatched country charm and character. I've not found a spot to offer breakfast sandwiches and a wide variety of freshly made pastries anywhere near this. ENJOY!
