If I could give any less stars I would. After buying a used 5.3 LS engine that supposedly had a 1 year warranty and 90,000 miles, the cam bearings fell out of the engine after 6,000 miles and caused catastrophic damage. I know because i saw the bearings in the oil pan when I removed it. Not only did the engine not have 90,000 miles, judging by all the carbon buildup on the pistons of course but had poor ring sealing with oil making it past the rings enough to clean the top edges of all the passenger side pistons. When I brought the used engine back to my shop after purchasing it to start cleaning and installing new gaskets. I noticed the intake manifold loose and fuel rail/injectors missing. When I removed it I found a bolt fell on the top of an intake valve that I had to carefully fish out using pliers. Didn’t seem like it was under much tension at all an after looking over the rest of the intake and exhaust ports and boroscoping the cylinder’s I didn’t see anything to be too concerned about but I’m no expert and the engine spun over nice an free. Also had 5 broken exhaust manifold bolts which is to be expected but not disclosed to me. The harmonic balancer pulley was chipped, broken and not useable. I changed the engine because my original engine had 300,000 mile’s and was beginning to smoke through the exhaust using excessive oil. So I knew my accessories are in good working order I just swapped my good parts over to the used engine. When I would first start the replacement engine after spending over a thousand dollars in the engine, gaskets and replacement parts it had a noise in the bottom end but went away after warmed up a minute or two. Most 5.3 LS truck engines do have a noise on a cold startup so I looked passed it and ended up being the guy who was screwed. I did call chuck an eddies about the engine and was told the only replacement they could get had 180,000 miles and I had to wait for them to contact me when they had the engine because it wasn’t in their possession. I never received a call back an had to call them an see what was going on. My truck might have higher mileage but it has 0 rust or rot an has over $10,000 of brand new parts. I do a lot of traveling in my Tahoe an need it reliable as possible. A 180,000 mile engine is unacceptable to me when the engine I purchased was said to have a lot less miles. Not only that but the time and money I spent on the original should be reason enough to get a lower mileage engine for the warranty. In my opinion Eric provided poor customer service an was not friendly to deal with. It seemed like I was making it a hassle for him to figure out how we can warranty this bad engine and could barely provide any answers. This was a very poor experience an will not ever think about returning for any parts ever they lost a good paying customer and repair shop’s business for life because I’d never let any of my customers go through this. My machine shop who is a great friend of mine said the block and everything inside internally is pretty much scrap metal can’t even re install cam bearings inside the block. Now it’ll cost me about $5,000 for a rebuilt engine with all brand new parts inside my truck. Don’t waste your time or hard earned money with this company they will not help you when their garbage blows up and you will end up spending a lot more money. This is my second bad experience with this company which is my fault for not caring about the first time it happened with a different vehicle. Very very sloppy work on their end.

Had the worse experience with chuck and eddies also called mitchell's auto parts. I purchased an item on ebay which they listed. Lots of red flags, but i didn't follow my gut. After more than a week that goes by, i was informed that the part was deemed not good. I was never told about it and when i purchased on ebay, they created a ups shipment tracking and provided it on ebay. Well the item was never shipped and I was refunded, but only after leaving messages and pestering them. Please do not buy from this place as they will treat you bad!

Probably one of the best junk yards in Connecticut. You can go into their junk yard and look for any part as long as it's not a major part and buy it based on their price chart. Everything is super cheap. Entry fee is $2 as of late 2025

If I would leave 5 negative stars I would very rude No customer service skills there parts are what they post to be they are damaged never again don’t waste your time ordering from them when you call them they will just be RUDE and you will get no where before they hang up

Asked for a side view mirror I found on their site. Person at counter tells me they only have one that is a different color or one they would order for alot more money. I go outside look up the cheaper part on their site and came back to show them and they some how found it. Seems shady to me.

Horrible experience with a receptionist. —9/10 on Customer Service today. Please train your employees before hiring under qualified workers. A female receptionist was very rude when I called back with information on junking my car. Intentionally put me on hold, hung up, and continued to pick up and hang up on me. Finally another male receptionist answered clueless about the negative interaction, instead of diligently correcting his work mate’s behavior, decided to take the opportunity to explain “he aint got nothing to do with that.” So uneducated. Hire better people.

I ordered a part from them with a warranty. It took over two weeks to ship by mail, although they said it would take no more than 3-5 days. Then I paid the mechanic for installation, and they found out the part didn't work. I called Chuck back. I asked for a replacement. Now they refuse to replace it or refund my money. They say the boss will come on Friday and contact you or your mechanic. I don't understand why I should wait for his answer. The salesperson/manager who sold me is terrible; he doesn't listen on the phone and immediately hangs up.

Hands down the best place you can go for any car that runs in gas I was worried that the part i wanted would not work but they proved me wrong and they have a warranty if it doesn't work out best customer service and technicians are knowledgeable

Sold them a vehicle, driver did not bring the correct check. Driver said he would bring it later or have it mailed. That was 3 weeks ago. Called today after being extremely patient, and the man who picked up the phone told me I can come pick it up or wait for the mail. It's been 3 weeks, the mail isn't coming with my check, and your driver didn't bring the check but still took my car, on the honor system. When asking if he can have the driver drop it off to me, he shut me down and I said the driver was supposed to bring it to us, it's not my responsibility to pickup the check when you already have our car, and he hung up on me. I've called 3 times since then, and they're ignoring my phone calls. Used their parts pull for years, but the agent they have on the phone has zero customer service skills, I'd avoid doing business aside from part pulls with them.

I’m pretty disappointed in my most recent experience with Chuck and Eddies. I purchased a 2012 GMC Savana door - it had to be ordered from Oklahoma because I was extremely specific. I said I wanted one in Grade A condition, no paint peeling, and it must come from a 2012 Savana - no exceptions. On my lunch break Monday I drove over and picked up the door quickly (it was prepaid). Once I could actually look at it, the door had significant paint peeling and the tag said it was Grade B and from a 2010 Express Van. On top of that this one had privacy glass factory installed! I’m extremely frustrated. I paid top dollar for this door and got a sub par door that I will need to repaint and I have to either tint all the rear windows to match or replace that one window. Always treated fairly here in the past. Today was strange. Had i been made aware that returns are store credit only, i would have never purchased an electrical part i picked. When purchased i was told I could return said part if there was a problem within 30 days. Part was also damaged and they wanted 0 part of haggling. Got suckered into giving them cash for it. Part was shot. Came back 1 hour later and asked for $25 back. They didnt have a replacement either. Got a receipt printed and he said here's your store credit as he tossed the part into the trash...

I called one store. Apparently it was transferred to another. I went to said first location then to the other. I thought I was picking up a tire on a rim. When I got there they said it would be 2 days to puck it up. In a dress, i went and found it myself. I got filthy. The best part. They had what I needed. It was incredibly reasonably priced. I would recommend simply answering the phone... Chuck and Eddies.. Southington location... etc. Would solve that issue while hartford is closedish.

Do NOT shop here — Fraudulent business practices Bought a part for my car from Chuck and Eddie’s (Southington location) — they gave me the wrong part, and when I contacted them for a refund or exchange, they kept forwarding me to a voicemail that never gets answered. No callbacks, no help, no resolution. This place is shady and clearly doesn’t care about customers once they have your money. Avoid at all costs.

Rip off artists. Most of their prices are higher than dealer brand new oem part prices. They also pay maybe $50 for a whole car then sell the parts higher than dealer retail. They are sneaky too. I’ll never buy their junk ever again! My friend bought a door from them once and they said pay first it’s in great shape then when he got it in it was bent, dented and scratched and they said no refunds.

I went to purchase a transmission there today. At the beginning of my service I was not pleased with the customer service With the 2 other men prior. It wasn't welcoming and I didn't feel like the customer service was up to par and kind if rude!.... So I decided to wait for a gentleman by the name of "OBED" Because a few days prior to that I I had an encounter with him during my first visit his customer service was pleasant welcoming and great he was very informative and helpful so I decided to wait for him but he was extremely busy this time around. So I requested to speak to the original person by the name of "Jason" Who I spoke to on the phone originally who also was pleasant when I first called chuck and Eddie's for a quote he was extremely Informative and very friendly and welcoming aslo!!!... Both gentlemen answered all my questions and any concerns that I had and assured me that My vehicle was in the best of hands Regarding the parts I needed... Jason also referred me to a great mechanic by the name of Edgard And when I met him he was awesome as well... An because of my encounter with those 3# men I will Refer Chuck & Eddie's in Southington Connecticut and they are the reason why I'm giving a 5 star...

Contacted them twice about a hatch, they confirmed they had it and would get it ready for me to pick up. This is now the second time they've just left me hanging about the hatch. No word from anyone about anything. This the only place I CT that has the hatch I'm looking for. Since they want to leave people hanging, I'm now forced to drive to NH at the time of typing this review to go get the hatch I need. One phone call and it was all set, part is ready for me. Will never waste my time trying to get anything from Chuck & Eddie's again..

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this company. Despite confirming that we are a business with a loading dock and forklift—details they specifically requested—they still tried tacking on an unnecessary delivery fee after I’d already completed the purchase. Even after clarifying that I didn’t need additional delivery services, they persisted in asking the same question, which felt redundant and frustrating. Their customer support was equally unhelpful, limited to just one message per day. This slow response time is a major inconvenience, especially when you’re trying to address urgent questions or meet a customer’s needs. I strongly advise against using this company—honestly, if I could give them negative stars, I’d rate them a -3 for the headache they’ve caused me and my client.

If I could give an even lower review I would. Set up a day in advance to have 2 cars picked up for the junkyard. Called first thing I. The mirning to get a window of time for them to come. I was told by Billy that it would be by 5 pm. Waited ALL DAY. Called at 4:40. Was put on hold for 13 minutes so now we’re at 4:53. Was told their truck broke down at 4 and yet no one called to let us know that no one was coming. Terrible customer service.

You can sell your old car to Chuck and Eddie's. Be sure to have the original title to the car which you sign over to this company and they hand you a check. Ask about the amount when you call them. The driver was very nice (while my husband brought the original title, I had a copy of it but that does not work). My brakes had locked and Goodwill in Torrington kindly let me park the car overnight in their parking lot (with a notice to the police what was happening just in case). They use a hooking device to grab your old car and pull it onto the lift. Pretty amazing and scary at the same time.

Love this place cuz there are so many cars. It's like $2 to get in and bring your own tools because you take the parts of the cars yourselves and that reflects in the price. I always come here and definitely recommend it.
