Cavanna’s Farm is such a wholesome spot — it feels like stepping back into simpler times. I went during the season and loved being out in the fields picking fresh fruit. The farm has this welcoming, family feel to it, and the scenery is beautiful no matter where you turn. What really made the visit extra special was the Gray Granite Railroad. The little train winds right through the farm, and it just adds this touch of magic — especially around the holidays with their North Pole rides. It’s not about going far, it’s about the atmosphere, and it made me feel like a kid again. Lastly, the people who own the farm and their workers are their greatest asset. Go find out for yourselves. I promise you won’t regret your trip. Altogether, it’s the kind of place where you slow down, enjoy the season, and make memories. I left with fresh fruit, a smile, and already wanting to come back.

Best Farm in all of CT. Berries and Apples are exceptional and Christmas trees are top tier. The whole Cavanna family is welcoming and kind. Appalled seeing one star reviews filled with lies trying to harm a family owned business and staple of Glastonbury

Best farm in New England. The owner and his family are very respectful and courteous. My family and I will continue to support this farm!

My close friends and I visited the farm recently, however it has become very clear that they discriminate against people of color and accuse them of "stealing" when the farm actively encourages customers who are white to "sample their product". Everything is done to prevent POC from picking at their farm, including turning them away and causing scenes to discourage POC from visiting. This reflects both their poor business practices and their poor morality.

Cavanna’s Farm is quite literally the best there is, without question. Want to go strawberry picking? Look no further! They have the sweetest, juiciest, and ripest ones on this side of the Mississippi. Need a Christmas Tree? No problem, they got plenty with a variety of sizes! Heck, how about a train ride? They have a RAILROAD on the farm that can take you on a fun journey to visit pick pumpkins, meet Santa, or the Easter Bunny! My family and I have been coming here for years and couldn’t recommend it more for anyone looking for a great experience. The Cavanna family and staff are all amazing and very friendly and it shows how much they truly care about the farm and their products/services. Thanks Cavanna’s!!

Absolutely magical experience! ? The strawberries were the sweetest I’ve ever tasted—bursting with flavor and perfectly ripe. The farm was spotless, family-friendly, and the staff were genuinely warm and welcoming. There’s even a WATERFALL! Pure Joy. Can’t wait to come back soon!

Went to Cavanna’s Farm the other day and honestly, it’s the best farm I’ve ever been to. The staff were super friendly, polite, and helpful — just really good people who make you feel welcome. The strawberry picking was a lot of fun, and the berries were seriously some of the sweetest and freshest I’ve ever had. The whole place is clean, well set up, and has a really relaxed, good vibe. The farm itself was absolutely beautiful and very well organized. You can really tell the owners take a lot of pride in making sure everything runs smoothly and that visitors have a wonderful experience. It felt peaceful and well cared for, which made the day even more enjoyable

No better place to start your day! Me and my family have been coming to the Cavanna’s farm for almost 20 years! Nestled In the heart of Glastonbury there open field views, rustic setting and massive strawberry’s never fail to impress! I highly recommend bringing your friends and family down to the Cavanna’s farm for some wholesome family fun!

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the Cavanna farm/Family! The strawberry fields are beautiful and the strawberries are delicious. Will absolutely be coming back!

Went strawberry picking for the first time here and it was a pretty fun experience! We were taken on a golf cart ride to the patch of strawberries we were supposed to pick and even offered a golf cart ride back to our car! The staff were very nice and helpful. The berries we picked were huge and delicious! I forgot how much we picked but it was around $13 for two small bins full of strawberries, which ended up being a lot for us. I know that’s not the most helpful indicator but they seemed like good quality strawberries. This place is cash only so make sure you have cash when you go. I would definitely come back again!

I wish I could give negative stars. I have been to Cavanna’s Farm a few times and returned today and will NEVER return again. What I saw today was so disgustingly racist. As my group of 4 began picking, a group of Asian people wanted to pick and were turned away due to “group size”, which did not seem like the reason they were turned away. We left the farm and will never return.

They may invent excuses like "group size" to reject you. Avoid this farm unless you wish to experience humiliation. **This is clear racial profiling**: 1. **False Pretenses**: The "large group" policy was selectively enforced against us. 2. **Discriminatory Practice**: Only Chinese visitors were turned away despite smaller groups being admitted. 3. **Hostile Service**: The owner refused to acknowledge the contradiction.

This place is prejudiced against any non-white customers. When you go to the fields you can see all customers trying the berries. But as you can see from these other reviews, the only customers who are yelled at for trying the berries are the nonwhite customers. Even when they say they tried only one or two berries. It’s natural for people to want to try the product, and you can see everyone eat a berry in the field just to try it. But why is only one type of customer being yelled at for this? I see the business responded and called me ignorant for saying “it’s natural for people to want to try the product.” But if you scroll to a response the business left a customer from three years ago, they literally write “we encourage our customers to try the berries.” If you go to the fields, you will see all customers trying just 1 berry. But only non-white customers are yelled at for it.

People very friendly and helpful. I picked strawberries yesterday and they were so big and delicious.

Xmas train is a scam for the outrageous price. Very short, nothing to see or do. Woof. Edit: the boarding area wasn't decorated, the train interior wasn't decorated, the exterior of the cabin wasn't decorated. Inside the cabin was...a tree. You knew exactly how little effort you put into the event yet you charged 40 bucks a pop for it ($160 for a family of 4). Don't act all sanctimonious now.

We had a wonderful time today at Grey Granite Railroad. Our twin 4 year olds and our 8 YO loved touring the train shop to see the engines under restoration, had a great time riding the train to Santa’s workshop, and there were bright eyed, wonder filled faces all around when we met with Santa. Staff was inviting and helpful, Santa was warm and attentive, and the hot chocolate truck at the end was delicious. Quote from one of my 4 YOs “Dad, please can we come ride this train and see Santa every time?” What more can you ask for?

Just wanted to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone on Saturday the 12th of October. We were the crew from Tampa Florida with a girls hockey team. The apples,train ride and scenic view of Hartford from crystal drive made this trip,for everyone a first time to Connecticut,a spectacular day for pictures and memories! I believe a lot of families are considering New England as a new home base!? And we finished our day with great food in town at a local Italian restaurant. Thank you ,and I’m sure I speak for every family!❤️??

General okay experience! Most of the staff were nice. We were met with one aggressive employee and left afterwards. We wanted to avoid causing any more problems and asked them to clarify how we could resolve it, but instead the individual continued to complain instead of telling us how to go about things correctly. We understand being in the wrong, but would appreciate if the gentleman was kinder like other staff since it was our first time there. We will not be returning, but wish them the best as there are good qualities! I would recommend putting up signs as to where they would like people to pick and not to walk across the field as to avoid this problem with other customers, or make it clear for newer strawberry pickers. Other farms utilize signage and we haven’t had a problem before.

We had gone and picked out a Christmas tree the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We found a great looking tree, and the staff were very helpful. 2 weeks later, the tree is basically naked. The tree was fully watered, not near a heat source, and was well taken care of. Most likely will not be traveling back for a Christmas tree.

Cavanna's Farm and the Gray Granite Railroad Santa experience are absolutely magical! My daughter met Santa for this first time tonight and it was perfect. We started with delicious hot cocoa at the food truck and then boarded the train. The seats were very comfortable and the train ride led us to the most adorable cabin. The attention to detail in the cabin was wonderful.... we were greeted by one of Santa's elves, there was train running along the ceiling and a beautiful Chistmas scene was set up. It was like stepping into the North Pole. Santa was also delightful! It was a wonderful experience for my family and I and I'm thrilled at how perfect it was for my daughter's first Christmas. Thank you to John and everyone at Cavanna's Farm!

I don’t know if I could say enough about how wonderful this place is. We went tonight with a large group of friends for a train ride to see Santa. Unfortunately our son has some anxiety issues and decided he was too afraid to get on the train. John went out of his way to try to make our son comfortable enough to go. He even offered us a ride on a different day should our son change his mind. Although we didn’t get the full experience I felt I had to come here and express my gratitude to John for really showing how much he cares about the people who come for this experience. I will forever recommend this place to friends and family. Thank you John

We had such an incredible experience on the GGRR for the most amazingly perfect, memorable visit with Santa tonight with our family and friends. I was brought to tears by the attention to detail from start to finish and we already can't wait to book another private ride next Christmas season. Thank you, John and team for the BEST holiday experience I have ever had.

The nicest strawberry picking I have done in CT! Very friendly people here and the strawberries are delicious. Large field for picking and plenty of berries. There is even a little shade if you get there early enough

My son loved the train ride to Santa’s workshop and meeting Santa. It is all he has been talking about since. It’s a strange year for this kind of thing with covid, but there were several precautions - we were one of two families in the train car, everyone was masked, and it was one family at a time in the cabin with Santa - who was behind plexiglass. All in all a really cool experience and reasonably priced for the memories. Plus the tree operation was great - we had a great time searching for our tree, and the crew made quick work of getting it down and tied to our car. Highly recommended!

Best experience ever!!!!!! The customer service is the best. They are so kind and engaging!!!! We will always get our trees, from here! I absolutely refuse to go anywhere else!!!!!
