Very professional went out of their way to make sure they could fit my emergency repair in and fix it asap which was under 24 hours and would not hand it back over until they were 100% confident it was fixed and safe to drive.
I have previously taken my late father's car here for emissions and they were friendly. I called them wondering if they could give me a quote on some repair work. I think I spoke with the same person I've talked to before who has the same car as me. After confirming they would give me a quote the next day, I asked if they would allow customer-owned/aftermarket parts. They denied and then decided they wouldn't be giving me a quote even for the work done with their/OEM(?) parts. They ended the call abruptly after calling me by my late father's name(???) despite introducing myself earlier. After asking the question, they just seemed so hostile. I could understand reasons for not wanting to service with customer-owned parts but I don't understand their attitude. It seemed like a relatively innocent question :(
There are two kids that work at this shop who literally dropped off a Camaro to Bedford NY this morning after wrapping it and detailing for a friend Johhny. After explaining what a great job they do, these kids literally stole my portable vacuum cleaner from my car!!! I would never use this shop in my life. Poor kid was explaining he needed to sell his old Saab for 1k because he needs money real bad and took my vacuum cleaner. I would never trust this place
Work done on time and provided future need of front brake change. No pressure to get it done immediately based on my driving habits. Given a honest assessment with no pressure. Friendly place. Will continue to go there. Very accommodating management.
Super friendly guys here! As a local college student, I really appreciated these guys going all out and checking the overall safety of my car while only charging me for an oil change. Highly recommend!

I was in town from Seattle recently helping my Mom settle a few items after my Dad passed away last year; one of those things was getting his car back up and running so it can be sold. Bill was such a pleasure to work with - he was thorough and prompt with his communications, and they were able to accommodate me as a "walk in" (rather unexpectedly, as the battery died in their lot) while making me feel as though they'd been expecting me. It was an oddly emotional task, my Dad was very attached to his car and took excellent care of it - and I couldn't be more grateful that I happened upon Southport Automotive to help me get it back in shape. Very ,very bad experience! Went to fix wheel bearing and their mechanic forgot to tighten the drive shaft and fell of the truck during the test drive.They try to cover it up and told me that the truck is fixed but when I went on the highway I experienced noise and vibration from underneath the truck.Went back to them and they had the truck for few more days and again told me that is fixed and it wasn’t. I went back again and confronted them about the visible damage on the drive shaft an they finally admitted what happened.They did replaced the drive shaft and couple other parts that they damaged but I end up losing the use of the truck for a month and with vibration on highway speed that no one can explain where is coming from! I will not trust this place to fix a bicycle forget about a vehicle!!
Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Had some scheduled work to be done and unexpectedly found out my brakes needed to be replaced. They knew I was driving out of town that evening and went above and beyond to get my car road-ready in time. Highly recommend.
Great shop. All the staff at SAS are courteous & professional. Once the car has been dropped off for a diagnosis they email a report, with photos, level of importance, & price of the repairs they’re recommending. They are then patient & happy to re-explain everything in person or over the phone, along with an accurate time frame for completion. The repairs are then done (if/when agreed upon) within the expected time frame, with no additional “surprise” expenses or time in the shop. It’s refreshing.

Called to get information about about tire installation & storage. Conversation quickly went from “we offer those & here’s the price” to “actually not sure of the price & we only offer services to customers.”
Not exactly sure what the gap is between offering to pay for services and being a customer. But overall pretty comically poor & just plain odd interaction.
Great service! I had an emergency with my car and was able to get the car in with no appointment. They did an inspection and gave me an estimate in 10 minutes. I also received a loaner to get home. Will definitely recommend this place!

Southport Auto is the best! I always get the best service and everyone there is very kind and professional. They went above and beyond to make the whole experience as smooth as possible. The prices are fair and I don’t feel like I am being oversold. Bill and team are great. I will be going there for all my future maintenance and repair needs.
Excellent Service! Completely upfront regarding cost and repair time. Very accommodating; provided me with a loaner and periodically provided update regarding progress. Issue was fixed and car is now working perfectly!
N.B. I am revisiting this review -- I'd given Southport Automotive Service an excellent review, but unfortunately, upon returning home I realized that my engine cover was missing. I've tried patiently and diplomatically for months to get my engine cover back, but to no avail. They have just been giving me the run around and wasting my time. I assume that they cannot find it, or perhaps used it in another vehicle. They are not even making any attempts to make it up to me and try to fix the problem.
That is just very unprofessional and incompetent. To ruin a good experience with something so simple that could be handled much better. I understand that oversights can happen, but the way you handle the outcome also says a lot of your business.
Excellent experience. Bill and the team are so friendly, professional, and accommodating. They are fully transparent about their costs and your car’s needs. It’s clear from the way they communicate and operate that they care more about honoring their customers rather than just making every possible penny off of them. This is my new go-to auto repair shop.

Southport auto has done everything for me from replacing the engine in an old Jeep to diagnosing electrical issues in a BMW to simple oil changes to quickly diagnosing an error code on a Chevy avalanche right before a long road trip, and I couldn’t be happier.
