It was Buds Truck & Diesel Service. At first I was grateful he was willing to tow it to my house 3.1 miles away instead of taking it to their tow yard which I found out later was actually twice the distance than it was to my house. He loaded the car, and I jumped up into the passenger seat. The first thing I said was, can you tell me how much it’s gonna cost because I’d hate to get there and not have enough money. He told me $400. With a flat rate of $100 (chat gpt says average flat rates are around $80) that means they have a rate of $100 a mile and he told me verbatim “it’s expensive because of the mileage”.
I know he was taking advantage of me and my situation but I had no choice, pay or deal with the tow yard after I get paid in ten days. That means ten days of storage fees and a second tow to get her home and I didn’t want that. I asked him if he could do it for 200 and he shook his head and said get out. Talk about kicking someone when they’re down. I told him I had just pulled out every bit of cash I had while he was loading the car and he said “can you do $300?” This is when I knew for a fact I was being hustled and i literally pulled out my wallet in front of him counted it all out loud and said here I’ve got $290 can you make that work? He shook his head and said no. So, I grabbed my bags and got out. He literally drove away so I called an Uber and the Uber was nine minutes away. Eight minutes later, my Uber is only a minute away and when I look up to see if I can see the car I see the tow truck with my car stopping on the side of the road right in front of me. He rolled the window down and said you still have $290 let’s go. I mean wow!!! Even managed to add a five dollar cancellation fee for the Uber to the days losses. $300 for 3 miles is crazy.
THIS IS A TERRIBLE ESTABLISHMENT. AVOID AT ALL COST. THEY TOWED MY CAR OFF THE HIGHWAY AND DRAGGED IT AND BROKE THE BUMPER AND FRONT SUSPENSION DAMAGE.
THE OWNER THEN WANTED TO FIGHT ME.
This is twice in one month Dee from Buds towing " rescued" me. They are first class and Dee is a PROFESSIONAL. Can't say enough good about Dee and Buds Shelton

We ran off the highway and had damage to rim and tires. We called Buds Wreckage and Dee came to save the day. She was professional and personable. She got us quickly to a local PepBoys to solve our problems. Thank you Dee for making an unfortunate event much more bearable with some laughter.
While they are kind of expensive, i really appreciate their quick response time tonight. my mom was stuck at walmart because her car broke down. she has triple a but they took over three hours and sent the wrong truck. they sent the battery car instead of a tow truck. so i called buds and they got to us in 20 minutes and got us home quick! Thank you so much to Brett! Will most likely return here instead of using triple a.

We needed a tow (car was in the driveway), so we called Bud's Wrecker Service, as we have driven by their Shelton location many times, and they are only 10 minutes from our house. The dispatcher was professional, and gave us a quote immediately. Although we've never needed a car towed before, we thought the rate was very reasonable. Dee showed up with a flatbed in about 20 minutes time! She was efficient and professional, had the car hooked up in no time at all, and got it to where it needed to go. A few hours later, we needed to call Dee again, as the repair facility we had it towed to could not fix the problem. So, Dee picked the car back up, and towed it to a dealership. Again, quick, fast, efficient service. Would highly recommend!
Dee has been incredibly helpful, understanding, and gave me options after my car was totaled while it was parked then hit on a public street. Reassured that everything will go in the right direction despite the complex scenario and made the situation easy to understand.
