Literally the best experience I’ve ever had at a mechanic shop. The guys were super nice funny and welcoming. Broke down on the highway traveling from MA to PA. Broke down in Connecticut and was able to have AAA tow it to these guys. AAA approved shop even the driver was awesome. Was diagnosed and fixed within 3 hours and we’re back on the road to make our funeral service in time. Absolutely outstanding service wish these guys were local id come here for every issue. Honest and quick and cost efficient what more could you ask for. Thank you guys so much.

I am so thankful for their knowledgeable service, professionalism and willingness to help. Traveling alone proved to be a challenge when my car began to act up. Luckily I pulled off at this exit and found Berkshire Motors! The owner was polite and attentive as he listened to my circumstances and took me in. I was on my way again a little while later! I am grateful for having had he and his technician (whose name I didn’t get) there for me in my time of need!

I personally want to take a few seconds to extend my greatest Thanks to Jim and the technicians at Berkshire Motors in Sandy hook Ct. My wife was on a solo vacation/road trip from Pa to Ct when she experienced mechanical issues with her precious Mini Cooper S. Not being from the area and being so far from home her hands were tied. Anyone that has ever owned a Mini knows how difficult and expensive it could be to find someone to work on them, let alone work on them correctly. Luckily, through a google search, 4 minutes away way was Berkshire. After a quick conversation, she was able to limp the car to their location. Almost immediately they were able to get the car in, speak with me about the needed repairs and commit to getting her back on the road. Price was right, service was incredible and the their confidence and reassurance was settling. Appreciate everything you guys did. Took what could have been a difficult and unnerving situation and turned it around with a little old fashion customer service!! Wish you guys the best in your business for many years to come!!

Idk if it's because I'm a girl, but they tried charging me over $300 for an oil change and 4 spark plugs. I ha e bills from other places in the area for an oil change and all of them are less than $100. When I told them I had all the parts to do both jobs, they then said it would be 120 for the plugs and 25 for the oil change. Either way, yes, they're nice enough but they could care less about bending you over and taking all your money because "we all have financial struggles" so says Heubert or Howie or Hank... They don't care about the customer, just the money we fork over. Overpriced. Not worth it. Go literally anywhere else in the area.

As a woman going into an auto shop, I usually expect some side eye, being talked down to like I know nothing about cars (which is annoying cause I'm knowledgeable about basics), or feeling coerced into work I probably don't really need. I didn't feel like that at all getting my rear brakes done here today. The guys at the front desk were wonderfully friendly, treated me like a human, and respected my decisions regarding my car. I'll definitely be back.

My passenger side mirror had been broken off, so I brought it into Berkshire to have them check it out. Rick looked it over and called the dealer with my VIN to order the parts. He was careful to make sure that he only ordered the parts that were needed for the repair and not the whole assembly. Once the parts arrived I dropped my car off in the evening and it was ready for me at 9:30 the next morning. Jim, Herb, and Rick are all great guys, who I honestly believe are looking out for their customers, and the work out of the shop is always top-notch. Highly recommend.

Berkshire Motors has been my service & repair business for many years & I have never been disappointed! They offer experienced service technicians at a fair price & always keep you informed if anything unforeseen should develop. The management is always friendly, courteous & delivers on time!

Horrible service and terrible scammers. I went here because my dad has gone here for a while. I took my car there by myself because I had a constant leak (more like a constant spill) in my ac coolant tube and I kept having to refill the tank before I drove. They probably assumed I didn’t know what I was talking about and thought they’d try to scam me because they told me that I needed to replace my entire muffler (which isn’t what I brought it for). They said that it wasn’t worth the price and they weren’t going to fix it unless I let them fix my muffler and that I’m better off carrying a jug of water in my car and filling it when I need too. On top of that they charged me for labor and a diagnosis. I bought a tube on eBay and fixed it myself and I will not be going back there and wouldn’t recommend them to ANYONE!

Crooks n liars. I can’t believe after 11 yrs these guys would do this to are family. Took car in for an oil change, my daughter paid for it went out to the car, started it the oil light came on (which has never happened before the oil change) She went back inside and asked Rick (the manager) about why the oil light was on and his response was “that happens, the light should go off if it doesn’t that means you have a bad sensor and need to replace it” she replied , you just changed my oil, this is not right. All it was, was a fuse that they removed and made the oil light come on so you had to bring it back to them to fix for what ever they feel like charging you (SCAM) witch means the light never would’ve went off. I called them out on it, guess who was right. I went down to the shop n made them fix the car before we left the lot. They replaced the fuse they removed and the light went off. Imagine that!! Fathers and husbands, don’t let your daughters and wife’s go there by themselves. They are targeting the vulnerable. I wanted 0 stars but had to pick 1 or I couldn’t send a review.

My parents old car had been sitting for awhile. It was not drivable and I decided to check if it was worth repairing. Bershire Motors was recommended to me. They took the car and called with a full explanation of what needed to be done to get it back on the road. They found the part needed and had it road ready within 24 hours once I gave the go ahead. Very happy with the price (I looked around/checked around), the quick turn around and communication. Will be bringing my vehicles there and happy to find someone local.

I cannot say enough good things about this company and it's employees. We were traveling through on Vacation during a storm. Our windshield wiper's motor blew right on 84. When police and AAA couldn't help, Rick and his team helped guide us to their store and went out of their way to find the part we needed and installed it timely. What could have been a nightmare turned out to be just a small bump in the road. We were back to our vacation in no time. I also want to note we were traveling with small children and they went above and beyond to make sure the experience was as pleasant as could be with them. Thank you for everything!!!

Amazing experience. I bought a car from the in October 2021, it is now February (almost March) 2022 and the car hasn’t had any issues. Furthermore they had a great deal and even fixed dings and scratches! They will be the mechanic for my car as long as I have it!

I needed to drive up to Canada but my car needed new motor mount clips. No one was willing to expedite the service aside from Jim at Berkshire Motors! He got the truck in ASAP, ordered the parts and I was done within the same day. They really saved me and I thank them for it! Thank you to all the staff at Berkshire for helping me out, the Traverse runs great!

I had a great experience here. They were quick efficient and 1000% truthful. It was my first experience with them and I was treated like family from the jump. They did a lot of work on my car and it runs better than ever! Highly recommend Berkshire Motors!

I have taken my car there twice . Both times because I had to. And my car was fixed and it was fixed properly and the people are very polite but their prices are at least 20% more than any other garage in the area. And both times my car was not ready when they said it would be ready. Will probably never go there again unless I have to.

Herb and Jim at Berkshire Motors we’re very honest and helpful in diagnosing some issues with my car. The repairs were performed timely and at the agreed upon price with no surprises. They’re an excellent shop for anyone in the area looking for honest service.

I've been to my fair share of repair shops and Jim and staff are great. They are local merchants who understand how to compete with the chains and dealerships by giving honest evaluations, suggesting options, standing behind their work, and not pressuring to sell more service and parts. Jim definitely have saved me a ton of money vs going to a dealer or anywhere else. I had an older Jeep Grand Cherokee that may have needed a head gasket, and no doubt we would have been stuck paying almost as much as the car is worth to fix it just about anyone else, but Jim calls me out of the blue and says "I've been thinking and maybe we should try this first", sure enough it worked. Jim gets it, give clients a fair shake and we will be back.

Berkshire Motors is a lovely local garage where you are treated as a person and not a number. They care for your vehicle as if it were their own. I highly recommend Berkshire Motors as they always go the extra mile for customer satisfaction. For example last winter my battery died. Was able to get it to Berkshire Motors and despite it was 30 degrees and they had no heat the techs continued to work and got me back on the road-that is demonstrative of their customer service

This was a terrific first experience with Berkshire Motors. The work done was timely and highly professional. The staff was friendly and courteous. The provided a ride home after drop off and picked me up to retrieve my vehicle. I plan to continue using their services and would recommend them to others.

I cannot say enough good things about Berkshire Motors! They are so incredibly thorough and helpful. They always walk me through exactly what is going on with my vehicle and are very up front and honest about charges, zero hidden expenses. They really go above and beyond for their customers. To give an example, on one occasion I dropped my car off for an issue with the electric in my hybrid vehicle, Berkshire took several days to search for the issue (keeping me informed along the way!). When they were not able to locate the issue, they contacted the local dealership themselves, and determined the issue was something covered under a recent recall. Rather than telling me they could not help, they drove my car to the dealership for the necessary repairs, and picked it back up! This is not out of the ordinary for Berkshire, they really work hard to keep customers happy and informed. I will NEVER take my care anywhere else!

Jim and Herb were wonderful from the moment I called! My car overheated about .2 miles from their shop, I called and they asked me some questions and determined it was safe for me to drive the .2 miles to get to them! From that moment on they took great care of me and my car! They were so honest about what was worth spending money on and what wasn't and they even did some diagnostics free of charge! so many mechanics would have taken advantage of me not being from the area, but not Berkshire Motors! I am considering driving the 40+ minutes to always have them do everything for my car because it is so rare to find mechanics so trustworthy and honest! Thanks Berkshire Motors!!

I have used Berkshire exclusively on all of my vehicles for the eight years I have lived in New England. These folks are friendly, consistent, considerate of time and budget, and have never once failed to properly diagnose and repair or service my cars. It is hard to find a group that you can trust these days with major or minor repairs. These guys are like family.

Berkshire Motors always goes out of their way to help when my car is on the blink! They even take my car in with no appointment when I have an emergency (tire going flat from a puncture). I can always rely on them to go above and beyond. Jim and his men always make me feel right at home and greet me by name, too! I highly recommend this business.

I have just recently started going to Berkshire Motors but have been very satisfied with each of my visits for work on my car. They diagnose the issues very well and complete their work in the stated time and at a fair price. They are always very professional and courteous.

When I was working in Sandy Hook, Berkshire Motors was close by. I took my car there and was very pleased at the service and repair. I ended up using them for repairs for my wife's minivan as well. I would recommend them to anyone seeking honest, capable repairs and service.

We were on our way home to Waterbury from New York as I noticed a problem with my brakes. So I got off the highway and was directed to this auto repair. It was 5pm and they were busy but they looked at it, looked for the part and Jim, the owner stayed late to replace the part and repair the brakes which would have been very dangerous to drive. They were very courteous, knowledge, friendly and provided outstanding service. They have a very nice waiting room and gave us coffee and cookies. The price was very reasonable and we were able to leave and go home safe and sound. I will definitely go back and recommend this place to everyone. Thanks to Jim for staying late and doing a great job on our brakes repair.

I always have a great experience at Berkshire Motors. Jim and Joe are both great. They always greet you with a smile and do what they say they are going to do. They are honest and fair. I have always been satisfied with the job they've done. They go above and beyond. Jim even gives me a ride to work! I would highly recommend Berkshire Motors.
