What clients say about Dionisio Metal & Iron in Pueblo (CO)

I was thoroughly horrified by the treatment I witnessed a mentally handicapped male who wasn't breaking any laws was treated during his attempted scrap transaction. Office personnel made a judgement call which resulted in Pueblo City Police arriving on scene and bullied this man into incriminating himself. I just want to share what I saw with EVERYBODY who I can. This isn't slander. This is my real work account of what I witnessed. If this is the kind of place you're comfortable doing business with, that's fine. They obviously don't really need it.

When the scrap pile starts taking up to much room, or if I find a free pile of metal, usually on Craig list. I take it here. Just roll up onto the scale if you haven’t been here before stop in the middle and wait until you see the green light flash. After you see it flash drive off the scale and turn left and follow it around to the right until you see the guys that work there. They will direct you to the right spot to back your vehicle in. After you unload you scrap metal drive back to the scale and get your empty weight, same as before stop in the middle and wait for the green light to flash then drive off. Park on the side of the road outside the gate across the street and walk in to the building on the right. You will need a current I.D. They will give you a pay slip/ticket that you will need to have. Take it over to the kiosk for payment. Hit any side button and place the ticket bar code under the scanner for it to read. The cash comes out like an ATM, there’s a box on the ground for used tickets. It there so use it and “Don’t liter”. Never had a problem with the place or the employees who work there. I will continue to do business with them in the future.

Told me had to have a car to turn in a little bit of metal walk in can only turn in cans that makes no sense acted like I had 1000 lb of metal had 28$ worth of copper brass and car parts I've save up over the 4 years and it wasn't much but not everyone owns a car or has access to a car

I often go to Dionosio iron and metal to sell copper, brass, aluminum and other metals. I'm a junker -i was planning on having about 60$ this trip. I'm a girl and so I guess because I'm a girl...they gave me lower prices than clean copper #1 they paid me 10¢ a pound for everything I took. Then when he went to the back and came back up front...I said if it weighs zero I am taking it back. He has the scale rigged up. I don't understand...he isn't paying me out of his pocket. He cheated me even though he has seen me there a million times. What a POS. I will never go to a Dionosio again. This place really went down hill since last year, this was a new level of low though. I left with 13$. What a disappointment

Exit scale overweighs by 15-20 lbs. When blonde gal was asked about it, she became very hostile and confrontational. She claimed that the state came out every single morning and tested calibration, which in itself is a lie. Why lie? Because you're.... yep, I'm going to say it... BECAUSE YOU'RE RIPPING PEOPLE OFF.

California pays at least $1.65 a lb. For aluminum cans. Colorado is pitiful.

rolloff service is great. I will no longer sell copper stainless or high temp alloys to dionisio. the manager is extremely rude but mostly ignorant. He either doesn't understand English or mostly pretends not to. his knowledge of alloys and copper grades is seriously lacking. I assume he treats everyone like a fool even though many of us have more knowledge and years more experience.

I have been going here for five years plus. Never had a problem. Fast and easy .

This is a no joke metal scrapyard that also rents roll-offs. They have 200 of them that are currently all in use, so the prices must be good.

First time recycling metal (aluminum cans and steel cans) anywhere other than the city owned recycling center. Very impressed with fast assistance and ease of navigating through the process.

They are efficient and helpful, they pay pretty well for copper anyways. Thank you for doing a great job

Easy in easy out. Helpful crew. I've been doing my recycling with them since I moved to Pueblo, 7 years ago.

Great staff. Always goes the extra mile for me since I've been doing businessbwith them. Only problem was that one white dude who ripped me on the scale with the polished brass. I even had it seperated. He still priced it with the yellow. Granted it was close to closing time, however I be been in business with you guys over ten years and this is what I should expect?

Good people. I use them a lot. But if you recycle e-waste, you’ll have to sell it online or take it to Springs if you want better than low or mid-grade board prices. That includes motherboards, RAM sticks, CPUs, and gold-fingered cards. If you’re just selling steel or copper, aluminum, or brass, they are my go to yard in Pueblo. The guys working in the steel yard are usually super helpful unloading alongside of you so you can get out of there fast. One time they used a huge magnet to take metal off my trailer. Pretty cool, but I’m easily amused. The ladies at the front desk are always nice and super fast checking customers out to be paid. Edit: I've had a few sub par experiences over the past 6 months or so, but only in the steel recycling area, and those issues are not the norm and definitely are not representative of my typical experience here. There have actually been more helpful workers in that area recently. One in particular is night and day excellent at helping customers compared to a couple of the old timer guys on the steel side who can either be tolerable or just plain rude. Luckily, they have great workers there and elsewhere who make up for it. The guys at the copper/brass/aluminum recycling area are super helpful and polite even when they again have to point out when I accidently sort something incorrectly every now and then. My only real negative comment about Dionisios is that they close pretty early during the week, and before covid, or not much longer before the lock down, they were open Monday - Saturday. They stopped opening on Saturdays a while ago, and I was hoping they would go back to 6 days a week, but that hasn't happened yet. Still only 5 days a week with a 4pm closing time, and that makes coordinating my loads from many jobs, depending on where in town the job is, often challenging as I'm frequently having to race to get there by 330pm so I can get everything unloaded and processed out by 4pm. Ideally they would be open 24/7. But I guess they deserve a little time off. :)

So Apparently, if I want to rent a dumpster from these people, I have to call everyday to see if one is available?? Not good business in my opinion! I will not be calling back.

Top pay in town I’ve found so far for all the assorted metals and precious I’ve brought to them.

Asked for a price quote on a couple catalytic converters and was told $5-$60. I'm from out of state so not sure how it's done around here but I was already offered $200 each, so I'm confused as to why they would so obviously low-ball me????

Excellent experience again. The workers are very helpful and prompt. The lady in the office was also Excellent and prompt.

Recycled aluminum cans at 20¢ a pound. I got a receipt that I then had to insert into an ATM machine to get my money. I was confused of what I was to do with the receipt since it was my first time there.

Helpful workers who know how to get stuff done quickly. They also do benefits to help others from time to time. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my recycling needs.

I have hauled scrap for a long time to Dionisios. They have always been great to me. Very helpful, very respectful. They are always professional in all they do. And the yard is clean and easy to get around.

They're friends of mine talked to them last time I was in. They always treat you well oh, if you have a problem with unloading or any anything else they will gladly deal with it

They say they take catalytic converters and pay from $5 and up. From my understanding when places like this are buying them they must look up the casting numbers to determine the value. I had a guy that didn't speak English just look and tell me $10 for a factory cat with casting numbers when I should've been given at least $40 or more for them. Man do they like to take your profit massively. I would suggest going elsewhere...

Always fast, lot is clean, and staff is helpful to unload. Have used for both small and large jobs...can handle it all. Highly recommend! TY

very nice people and easy to work with. Working a large project that involved a lot of metal. They sent compensation on metal dumpsters quickly and responded to our needs effectively as well... Would not hesitate recommending them to anyone in the area.
