Dave's Auto Salvage JunkYard in Grand Junction (CO)

We are taking his "son" (the kid who works there) to court over an even trade deal he's trying to back out of that THEY (the owner) and he pressured us into signing. Sooooooo glad we did now!!! After reading all the negative reviews everything that has happened makes sense. My guess is they took any good parts off our car and put bad ones in it then tried to back out because they got what they wanted after what I've read here. We will be seeing them in court and possibly pressing criminal charges depending on what they do between now and then. If anyone tries to buy the 88 Nissan 300zx, DON'T - It's already been traded and there is a signed contract.

I have done a lot of business with Dave and Cindy. Never met such caring people. They work very hard. They have fixed vehicles for us. I have bought minor and major parts from them as well as a vehicle. And yes they went above and beyond to make sure all was well. Dave's knowledge of vehicles and parts is above all I have seen. Thank you

!!P.O.S!! Needed an airbox for my dodge. Called and got a quote for 30 dollars. Went to get the part, Dave, the owner claims he had no recolection of me calling. His better of the two employees took me to get the part in the yard, I became interested in more parts. Came back up front and Dave refused (rudely) on the extra parts I desired. Went to his wife to pay. Transaction done and walking to my truck Dave comes running out, "I quoted you that part for 35 dollars!! Either take your money back or pay me what you owe me!" Yet when I first showed up he had no recollection of me calling... I paid the extra 5, using my card it cost me 12 dollars extra. Long story short, Dave is a salty P.O.S. that will never get mine nor my colleagues business again. Nice wife though

I went there to junk my car, we had lost the title and had already been looking for it for about an hour. We called to see if they would still take it. Didn’t charge an arm and a leg for the lost title, the price they paid for the car was really good and reasonable and both the gentlemen working were really patient and polite with everyone I had with me. Much more kind then other salvage people I have worked with in the past.

He said that he had a great remade engine. Paid a lot of money for it. He didn't mention the huge crack in the block. And of course didn't tell us and just kept making little repairs on it so that we wouldn't know about the crack. HORRIBLE place to go. NEVER go there. Of course the only good review is from his wife.

Vary poor costumer service i purchased a engine and he gave me the wrong Year motor and when I asked for my money back he assaulted me bum rushed me and chest bumped me yelling saying he was going to take me for everything he can i felt intimidated and concerned for the safety of my wife and grandson who was present at the time 8/20/18 9;30 am. He is a big man about twice my size i do not know how anyone can run a business with a Attitudelike that.

Got a solid deal on a car from Dave's. Both Dave and his wife Cindy seemed like really nice people. I believe that they are straight shooters and I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them again.

The only way to write a review is to give it one star....Or else I would give it a zero! Called for a part and was told he might have one, wanted $250 for it,( again if it was the right one), I had already been looking elsewhere as we all do, and told him I could get a new part for$200... His response was , the dealership sells this part for$400 and I've been down this road before, have a nice day! And hung up on me.... How's that for costumer service?!? Not sure about the rest of you, but when I call a junk yard I'm not calling for dealer prices. So I'll get my parts from my imaginary source from now on. How do these people stay in business......?

I have been here, guy was rud. Ended up leaving and not getting my part from him because of it. As far as his quilty of parts or honesty I personally don't know. After reading all the reviews I would say there is some truth in at least one of them, to many people with bad reviews and same problems to all be lies.

This guy is the worst of a peanut in a pile of crap! I paid him for parts and labor to put an engine in a truck for me. And when I discovered he had put a bad engine in my truck? He replaced the engine sure! But then he charged me parts and labor again to change the second motor that was his responsibility in the first place! And when I enquired as to why I had to pay for his mistake he told me he saved me a lot of money and that he was going to call the police if I didnt leave his property! We do not need people like this doing buissness in our city! He is a piece of excrement that needs to be wiped away!

Poor service response, had to wait while he finished unimportant tasks. Unfriendly and confrontational demeanor. Kid working for him seemed nice. Parts 25-50 percent above competition, close to price for new parts. Seemed all to eager to shove me out the door, and was unwilling to negotiate prices.

The employee I talked to was very rude. When I asked if they had a part for a Hyundai, instead of politely telling me that they did not have any of those cars, he was extremely rude. I don't know how I was supposed to know if they had that part or not. Unless you know they have the part, don't bother asking.

Great experience great people I've seen them help out alot of people and great prices can't say nothing bad about them because I don't have nothing bad to say great mechanic service and great parts never went there and got a bad part I highly recommend these guys to anyone

The part I got from Dave is good but he charged me a 100$ core charge and I brought my old core back but he said it was too late to get my core money back he blames his computer only keeps data on the cores for 10 days It seemed to me like some shady business practices or maybe he needs a better computer system buyer beware!

They’re always rude whenever they answer the phone. They definitely seem to be lacking in the interpersonal communication skills department and it shows.

Two other people had warned me not to go to daves... AFTER I WENT TO DAVES :( Daves Auto Salvage is TERRIBLE!!!!!! I paid $500 for a transmission from dave, took the old out of the car, gave it to dave and got a new one from dave for $500. "This new transmission works great! we have a 30 day warrranty too" Dave said. Put it in my car.... it didn't shift into 2nd gear!! I asked dave to fix it, he said "you have to pull it out first" ?????? IT COSTS $500 TO HAVE A TRANSMISSION REMOVED AND RE-INSTALLED!!!! so he sold me a bad transmission and I'm paying double for HIS mistake. ON TOP of that, I had a transmission guy drive my car to see what the problem was. Because I had a transmission guy drive my car, Dave voided my 30 day warranty :( Thanks for taking my $500 Dave, the transmission I traded in to you works better than the one you gave me. Overpriced! Bills fords only in Spokane sold and shipped the part for 75 dollars cheaper...The part was 150 at Daves! No more of my money in this parts pit!

Terrible to deal with. Really rough people. Their trash is spilling over into the road creating a dangerous place to drive.

I dont know why people write bad reviews like this .If you dont have anything nice to say just shut up ! Anyway Dave has always given us good service keep in mind hes a small operation and he goes as fast as he can good service!

What a joke. Called for a taillight assembly that cost 46 brand new, they wanted 45.

Really rude people that wanna argue about what part fits what. Obviously need to take some classes on part compatibility and people skills

Don't make deals with this people. They made me drive an hour and when I arrived they weren't there, they told me to wait 40 minutes that they were at lunch
