What clients say about Trade Center Auto Recycling in Grand Junction (CO)
Great service, Needed a mass airflow sensor asap, dealer was $275,Cleaning it no longer worked, kept getting low power and check engine light, called trade center and they said they had one in stock, was not sure if I was going to buy one from AutoZone or napa, napa was over $120,Trade center was $45,with a warranty showed up,they told me about 15 mins to get it from the inventory, went to lunch came back, they had it ready at the counter, very good condition, swapped it out in the parking lot, took the old core back in, truck runs like brand new and no more check engine light. Older gentlemen at the counter was very helpful and gave me some very solid advice on why my original mass air flow sensor likely failed, and recommend I get rid of my oiled air filter asap and get a factory paper filter to keep the new/used senor clean and problem free. Took his advice, with the new paper basic oem air filter, I have had zero problems and truck has a lot more power and no more check engine light. Super happy with service and they saved me $70 over the parts store, Will be back if need other parts, highly recommended, very nice people at the counter, they actually care about there customers and their vehicles.
Ask if they waranty. It should be 30 days. Ask of the part was tested. Be aware there is a 30% restocking fee if you return a part.
Highly recommend. They bailed me out with same day towing. Professional service.
I went here and had to get leaf springs for my truck, they had em shipped from rifle and were a decent price. I really like coming here. Never had an issue, I love the older gentleman that works the desk he's awesome. The new owners are really nice. No issues here and bc of them my truck is up and going.
Terrible service from start to finish. Threatened to keep my car. Accused me of having fake license plate on my car. This created an additional $150 charge, even though I had all the documentation for ownership. Very rude when you opposed their accusations. Find other tow companies if you ever need a tow service.
I've worked at a few junkyards in my day but to be told this is not a junkyard by the old guy at the counter lmao. I want factory speaker because they sound better than after market. Was told they would lose money selling them to me which made the other list of parts I wanted not worth getting here. These people only care about big money. Total waste of time every time I come here. Drive to Delta, or spend your money elsewhere. It's sad because people out here have no choice.
This place used to be the go to spot for used parts. Don't get me wrong they still fully test their parts and sell good parts. The big thing that changed is they no longer have ANY give on their prices. Example is a tail light assembly for a 98 Ford. Their price was DOUBLE the price at one of the Auto parts stores. It was very easy to confirm that it wasn't an online deal by simply calling and pricing that store. They wouldn't even match the price of the new part at the store with their used one. I get not wanting to match Amazon but not matching or beating new parts at a local shop is suicide for an used auto parts yard.
Be prepared for an uninviting atmosphere where the sign behind the counter - “can’t fix stupid” - pretty much sums up the employees attitudes towards customers. If you walk in with the mindset that this can be a humorous experience and picture yourself in some comedy movie where you are the dimwit in the scene, it could be quite enjoyable! Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the man at the counter figured out for me that I didn’t actually need to replace the part I was looking to replace. So he saved me lots of time searching for said part and money. After leaving a place like this I always ponder on how these type of people treat close friends and family, if they have any, and how many years it might take to deteriorate into such a miserable existence. Surely at one point they were happy. Next time I’ll choose another business unless I’m needing a laugh or if I’m down and need to be reminded that there are much bigger a$$holes in the world than me.
Horrible service was charged almost 800 dollars for a tow 1.5 mikes to their lot and because of them being closed because of Christmas they charged extra storage. I couldnt get any sooner because I was in the hospital. The cops ended up getting called because i didnt want to leave it there another minute. Then they said they wernt the ones that wrecked my truck. Do not use these people on purpose. Unfortunatly they can make their tow truck payment off one customer during Christmas. Even asked for a veteran discount and do not offer.
It was a very good place to go it was fast and no waiting. Staff was very helpful and friendly
Excellent source of used car parts if your on a budget and need to repair your car. Definitely won't blow you away with customer service or patience for the inexperienced home mechanic. But at 1/3 the price and 3 western slope locations I will go every time I need a car part or want to recycle and get paid for it.
They are closed on Saturdays now unfortunately. This review is neither positive nor negative. I'll update the post when I get a chance to go down during the week and see if they have a motor for me.
My dad bought a cracked part from here and when I went to replace it they refused when I dropped it on a table it cracked in half and still refused to replace it. Incredibly rude, sexist, disgusting ridiculous service will never going to be going here again!
If you want trust worthy people to deal with, honest and hard working. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Rude and disrespectful service. You will be treat as if you know nothing about your project. BUY FROM ANOTHER COMPANY.
Called looking for a topper for my truck. The guy asked what for and I told him 3rd gen. Dodge Ram. He became a snarky, know-it-all and said “so you have a 1928”….. No, I don’t and you know that. I will not do business at a place that hires small minded jerks.
Grumpy old men. Loved it! All I wanted to know was their return policy, but they were too grouchy to tell me. Later I read on the invoice that it's return for in-store credit only. Just a heads up. The GOBs are pretty funny, though.
Too bad I can't give negative review. These men were extremely rude after they sold the part I prepaid for to someone else. They firmly refused to return the prepayment. Doesn't that sound like stealing?
Absolutely DO NOT recommend. If I could give zero stars, I would. I went today to get a window for my vehicle and while I was getting what I needed, things were stolen out of my vehicle! (I was only there a max of 15 minutes). When I informed staff, they told me they couldn't do anything and supposedly do not have cameras. I think that is so weird that they don't have cameras especially with all the car parts that they have that are worth money. So does that anyone can just go, take and resale?! 🤔 My vehicle was parked and they saw nothing?! 🤔 Weird. I honesty do believe it was one of the staff members. If you need parts, please go elsewhere or order it online!!!!
I do NOT recommend DOING ANY BUSINESS at this location!!! The employees are extremely RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. Quit possibly the WORST business I've ever stepped foot in. I am literally still in shock at how TERRIBLE these people treated us. On a brighter note, DAVE'S SALVAGE YARD is an awesome choice for your business, I would HIGHLY recommend them. The staff were super FRIENDLY HELPFUL and PROFESSIONAL. They actually went out of there way to help us with the parts we needed and prices were good as well.
I'm used to cranky old men, I actually enjoy older folks' company much more than my own generation. However these were the rudest guys I've ever met. Don't treat me like I don't know anything, I may be a young woman but DO NOT treat me as if I'm inferior. I was raised around buying, fixing, and selling cars. No need to beat a dead horse, I know what I'm doing. Thanks. The lady was nice though. From the looks of it these old men could care less about bad service, since they are replying with snide remarks to reviews.
I would give Zero stars if I could. They shipped me an engine that was full of rust and debris. I've been trying to get this returned for almost a week now and I'm just going in circles. Last week I ordered an engine for a Mazda, when it arrived, we pulled of the parts they recommend replacing with a used engine. Upon removal of the water pump, rust and small amounts of debris where in the engine. I can only assume that not all the fluids were drained from the engine, causing this metal deterioration, even though the engine comes with a tag saying all fluids have been drained. I wanted to exchange this engine for another, but Trade Center only had the one. In that case, a refund would be great so I can buy an engine elsewhere. We sent pictures via text message to whom I am only assuming is a secretary. She replied with "Wholly Cow! It shouldn't look like that!" via text message. They offered to refund the engine only after they receive it, leaving me in Limbo until I get my money back. On top of that, I am supposed to pay the freight to send it back. $150 to me and then $150 back to them. So I'm out another $300 until they can determine if the engine is "Bad enough to consider refunding me the freight." I have called 3 days now trying to reach some resolution. On the second day, one guy told me that they wont refund the freight cause "We will just resell the engine when we get it back". I informed him that was unethical business practice to sell an engine that knowingly wont last long. He informed me that it has "good" compression so it will run just fine. On the third day, I got ahold of the owner, Ray. Same circles as before, only this time, Ray laughed at me and told me "I have better things to do". He proceeded to hang up on me not once but twice. When I called the third time, he left me on hold for one hour and thirty one minutes before he picked up the phone and hung up.
My husband went here today and within the 15 minutes that he was away from his vehicle, things were stolen. His cars front window was broken and he went there to get another one. He parked 2 cars down from the supposed owner. The owner was outside and claims he saw nothing. Absolutely impossible. My husband and his cousin glanced through the windows of other vehicles there and were told by the owner they couldn't do that. The owner then goes inside, supposedly calls the police but is told they couldnt do anything? I have never heard of such thing. 🤔 The owner also claims they do not have cameras outside so they wouldnt be able to check. I'm sorry but how do you own a businesses with no cameras? Especially being a yard with so many parts that people can steal and resale? All of it seems super fishy and I honesty believe they owner and staff had something to do with it. People be careful and go elsewhere! Or if you decide to go there, take someone with you and do not leave your belongings alone.
What a squirrel cage! Bought an ECU for my 92 Dodge D250 with automatic trans. They sent one for a standard. We had floods down here and I am 67 years old and have emphysema. Between the two and an outfit that could not find a record of the sale for the part so I could get return approval; I miss the return by two days and am out $500.00. That is what you are gonna find with these folks. The guy who sold me the part just ranted and raged over the phone; never heard me out. After I wrote the review I called them explained what happened to see if a different outcome would occurr. Guy didn’t hear a word I had to say; he was too busy running me down and sarcastic comments about internet customers. BEWARE!
This place is great! We've ordered several after market parts for our car and they are always helpful. Jessica really went out of her way to make sure I received a part that fit. I would recommend this place
They went way out of their way to get me rims. I couldn't be more grateful. They are good honest people making a living. I'd be stuck if it wasn't for you guys. Thank you so so much ❤
I own a very busy mechanics shop and we frequently need used parts. Unfortunately we must warn you to not shop here. Eli and the crew are not honest in business. Last week we purchased a rear end for a ford truck and the back lash on the ring pinyon was way out of spec and not usable. the customer refused the unit. we returned it to trade center only to be charged a 20% restock. mind you the rear end is bad to not fault of ours, and it was on the shelf not removed at our request. A previous unit we purchased was a transmission for a chevy truck that was supposed to be good to go, the oil in it was burned and full of metal. I know bad things happen thats why we have overlooked many other issues we have had there. but it is down right theft to take money on a return of bad product. Buyer be ware there are plenty of other places to shop.
We have 4 different vehicles that we are in process of rebuilding. We wanted to browse around to see what we might like to add to our treasure trove. Folks at desk were nice enough, but they wanted to INTERROGATE us as to what EXACTLY we were looking for. Thanks but no thanks. Shopping experience RUINED.
This is the absolute worst service I've ever had. Rude. Extremely expensive. A total rip off. Beware!!
If I could rate 0 stars, that would be an over statement! We called for a mirror on a 2011 Ford and were told it would have to be ordered in from another location. When the part came in, it was picked up by my mother in law and she was not told returns are not accepted. The mirror was not the right one, not even for the correct year. We called to let them know that we needed to return the incorrect mirror and find the correct mirror. We were told they would not give us a refund on ordered parts. Then she called back and said she would return less than half the money only if we ordered the correct mirror from them. Did I mention that she ordered a mirror for a 2000 Ford, not even a 2011 like we told her. Even though it was her fault for ordering the incorrect mirror, they are not willing to fix there mistake and return the incorrect mirror. We will never do business with this horrible company again! We will be reporting them to the BBB!
This place has been a life saver for me!!!! I have been to both stores the one is Grand Junction and the one in Delta. Both places have been awsome!!! I am a female so i usually get treated like i am stupid bit not here. They always have a good attitude and treat me respectfully and have got the parts i need. They also stand behind their warranty too! I bought an engine that ended up going bad three days after my warranty was out and they still gave me another one. Been using that one for almost three years now. I totally recommend this place. i understand you are buying used parts and there is always the chance it can go bad but i have had an excellent expierence. if you need parts definatley go see the Trade Center Auto!!!
