Charged me to dispose of lead acid battery’s and their prices compared to others are kinda shitty, however they are family owned, the staff are very friendly with a very clean and organized yard

They shorted me on weight and marked all my #1 copper as #2. Will never be coming back here. Try out atlas metal and iron or action recycling instead. Both gave me a good price and the weight wasn't ridiculously off

These folks were so helpful and did their best job to help us get the best deal

do not go here they will try to cheat you and trick you. I dropped of 360 pounds of aluminum. Got paid 120

Apparently you have to be 18 to drop anything off here, there's no signs or employees telling you where to go or what to do and if it has any steel or iron on it it has to be a >500lb load. I don't know what the difference between scrap from an 18 year old and scrap from a 17 year old is but they won't take it even if you already have it all loaded into a cart on the weigh station.

They have a sign on the building stating they will match or beat what a competitor will pay but this is not the case. I found better rates calling around that they would not match. Goto Denver metal recycling on ivy st for the best payouts.

They pay the best price I have found and you can call and ask prices on what your scrapping, which is very helpful because the prices fluctuate so much.

Do not go to C & M metals ever they promised the best price for non-ferrous items which is a complete lie. I got 10% of what I should’ve got compared to western metal do not go to C & M metals they will rob you blind.

I recycle for my bf & son while they are at work and the gentlemen working here are ALWAYS respectful and helpful. Being a woman some of the customers will try and cut in front of me but the workers always set those customers straight . I've never felt uncomfortable or cheated its a quick process or waiting in line if there is one ,backing the truck up and the guys unload I get a ticket and go to the cashiers which are lovely and pleasant. I've been a customer for years and will continue to use this wonderful business.

First experience recycling cans and they made it quick and easy. I called ahead to check price (currently $.40/lb as of 3/9/23). The guys working the yard made short work of emptying the bags out of my truck into the forklift basket. Came out a minute later with my ticket, brought ticket in to the counter and walked out with cash a minute later. I weighed the bags before I went there and their scale came within one pound of my own measurements.

DON'T GO HERE! Our company just dropped off a small portion of our raw scrap nickel to this yard and they paid us for stainless 316 at .65 cents per pound vs ~$2.50/ lb. After we question this mistake they would not rectify this mistake stating its was standard for them to buy nickel this way? "$2.50-$3.00/ lb., these prices are current as of today’s date (02.09.2023) and are subject to change, at any time due to outstanding market conditions"! Needless to say we will no longer do business with C & M iron & Metal for our bulk nickel off loading.

So far this place has been really friendly and a great deal. They gave me the absolute top price for copper wire leftover scrap cables. They gave me $250. It can be a little confusing about what to do when you arrive. Just pull back to the right where it says "no customers in the warehouse." Find someone to help you but don't go into the warehouse of course! They will help you unload and sort, weigh it, and give you a receipt. Then get your car out of the way and go into the little office with the receipt they gave you and turned that into cash by talking to the nice lady in the cage. I would check the website for various specific things on what they can take. They also sell scrap metal for fabrication projects and whatever you need so I would recommend them 100 percent !

Did not mention the 500# minimum for steel until after the truck was unloaded. Options were to re-load the truck or leave the steel. They basically got 320 pounds of steel for free. While I was happy it was to be recycled, I was frustrated I was not informed.

General lack of organization and clarity at the site, when busy there are few indications as to how to proceed and you may have to wait up to 45 minutes. Upon asking staff, they were unwilling to help, and appear to prefer to attend to customers who have larger loads (I had a disassembled trampoline frame). Broken glass on pavement, also watched a worker hit a customer's trailer with the forklift while trying to remove an item.

A few weeks ago brought steel bathroom stalls, they paid well. Came back today with more and they wouldn't take it. They let me unload my entire truck and then told me half price for the same type of steel I brought last time. Very inconsistent! Reloaded my truck and went to Western Recycling.

We hadn't recycled metals before, so this was a new experience for us. The 2 men who helped us were very respectful and helpful! We were pleased with the rate offered and would definitely return. Highly recommended!

I go here to find scrap occasionally and usually find what I need but don't buy it because I don't hit the minimum sale of $20 which is 40 lbs of steel at $0.50 a pound . I have found the new metal to be a bit higher priced than other steel suppliers. The guys here are usually friendly and helpful.

They could benefit from cleaning up their process for new customers with scrap to recycle. I went here to drop off a small box of copper wire/pipe and a little box of batteries. There was another customer with a truck bed full of scrap wire. 3 or 4 employees were unloading that truck while I waited, not knowing what to do. No sign saying wait here, or go to the office first, etc. None of the employees motioned to me to go to the office first. Another customer drove up and went right to the office so I guess we go there first? I go to the office and they say wait for the guys to finish unloading that previous customer and then back in that spot. Cool, I do that and hand them the box of copper, they say "go to the office and show ID." Why didn't they ask for ID when I was in the office before? Then I get done at the office and go back to my car and the batteries are still there but they've moved on to the next customer. I ask about the batteries and they take them and say "have you been to the office yet?" Where do you think I went when you didn't see me by my car? They should put up a sign saying 3 visits to the office required per transaction.

I brought 8 lawn bags of crushed cans, was told the weight was 96lbs. Hard to believe only 12pds a bag, I carried them. Pay was less than $18, at .19 pd. I checked online, cans were .24 pd, .05 more than I was paid. Not recycling any longer, not worth time or trouble, especially when not being paid market value. These people are shady, stay away.

This metal recycling plant, is nestled in the southwest corridor off Hampden, just west of Sante Fe. If you like your hard work turned into cold ca$h by a "we have the best prices for precious metals in town" slogan. Then do as I do, pull up let the prompt and very helpful staff grab your load, then head to the dainty lil office. Full of water snacks and candy. Because, I mean hauling metal can make a person hungry, in the hot sun n' all. I trust C&M to care for all my recycling and to give me the best rate at the same time! Thanks to the hard working staff over there!

Sign says no entry to office , don't get out of car. People in lot would not bother to give any direction. After waiting for one of the several employees to direct me ,but ignored, I left. Not sure how they even get 3 star average.

Tried to stop by today because I heard they sell scrap steel. Told me cause of the virus they won't sell any. They weirded me out just by the way the acted. Couldn't enter or even come within 20ft of anybody that worked there to get prices. Wasted trip. I'll just head back to my usual spot. Nothing to see here.

Better pricing than the other places i've visited, and they have good selection of square tube, angle, flat bar and they have lots of sheet metal in 4x4 panels which are easier to handle for me. Their scrap yard also has lots of useful stuff.

A mistake was made in the classification of the materials I brought substantially to there favor I didn't notice until after I left when I returned they quickly with a smile corrected the error and gave me the difference. They are fair and honest I recommend giving them your business.

The guys who weigh the metal don't know the prices they pay pet pound. They have to run into office to find out. I had 30 pounds of cast aluminum and 30 pounds or sheet aluminum and got 13dollars. They pay a quarter of the price that anyouthera yard. I feel that they don't let employes know the prices cause they are so cheap. c & m in my opinion is nothing but scammers. They pay the least of any yard in Denver

I have used this company for 5 years, but when they sent me a wrong piece of material, they refused to make it right. We spent two days working on this sheet, then figured it was not what we ordered. When it was brought to the owner's attention, she basically said too bad. Relationships mean nothing, nor is there any customer service. I will not be bringing my business here again. I would recommend you find somewhere else too!

They have a decent scrap yard I go check out from time to time looking for steel for random projects. Not that big, but they have a decent selection. Sometimes hard to track down an employee, but when you do they are nice. I haven't bought any of the new steel they have inside, but there is a decent selection & they have equipment to cut it if needed.
Feb 07, 2017 -
I've shopped there for years. they have a great selection of common items. They also sell small cutoff pieces of steel and aluminum by the pound for tinkerers and have good prices for scrap. A nice family run business.
